Flash Pass Idiots

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Sorry for the long rant, but it's gotta be said:

I've tried Flash Pass a total of two times this summer and while I absolutely love the convenience of it, (and the price isn't too bad with the $10 off coupon), I cannot stand the hassle with getting though the now lengthy flash pass lines.

I fully utilize the flash pass to its full potential like you are supposed to, reserving a ride to walk on 50 minutes later, riding a few flats, waiting until my time or after my time and then going into the flash pass line. Every time my group of 4 did this yesterday we were met with a line at the Flash Pass entrance of people waiting for their time to come up. You then have to ask each person if their time is up and try to move up in the line to actually get to the attendant to scan you in.

I actually got into a pretty decent argument with a group of complete idiots on Batman yesterday about this. The exact time was 2:57. My flash pass time was for 2:57 therefore we could be scanned in and enter the tunnel. The moronic group of four people were 10 deep in the Flash Pass line waiting for their time to come up, and their time was for 3:02. I asked them if there time was up yet, they said no, and we then proceeded to cut in front of them as it was our time to ride. This was met with a huge argument from their group that we could not cut in front of them and we had to wait in line with the rest of the flash pass people. They were trying to tell me how we all have the same pass, all paid the same amount of money, and still have to wait in line. I very calmly told them that it only matters what time you are allowed to enter, and that if your time is up, you can enter the ride. They could not understand that my time was up before theirs and therefore I can ride now and they can wait. After much ridiculous arguing, they finally said, "fine, if you want to try to cut in front of all these people and get in now, go ahead and try, be my guest", so of course we did, gave them a few dirty looks, and went up to the attendant, got scanned, and walked right in. I waved a good "bye bye" to that group as we entered the tunnel. They were irate.

Anyway, I see this same thing happening more and more, and people who paid good money for their passes now waiting in line behind ahole groups like this because they don't understand how to use this pass. There needs to be some kind of sign at every entrance not to enter the line unless it is at your time or after your time. There were even people yesterday reserving a time on the regular flash pass, and then getting right in the flash pass line for Raging Bull, waiting 50 minutes there, and then riding. These people need to be eliminated from the gene pool.

A few weeks ago while using the flash pass to ride roaring rapids, there were actually 4 different traffic lines in the rapids exit. One was the smart flash pass people who were able to ride at their time. Two was the line of flash pass idiots waiting for their time to come up. Three was a group of handicapped people. Four was the normal people exiting the ride. Needless to say it was a little crowded. So much for the convenience of Flash Pass.

They need to be checking Flash Passes BEFORE letting anyone even enter the line. That's the problem here.

I Hate the dirt looks people give you just because you have a flash pass and go in front of them. Umm I spent $80 before I got my pass processed. $80 more than you paid. I deserve to go first and am allowed to. If you have a problem with that pay for a pass too or go cry to your momma. Not my problem. This happened on Roaring Rapids in June when some guys said something like "He thinks he's so special because he has that." Yeah, dumbass I paid for that.

SF should get rid of there fast lane system altogether.

Now if they want to offer a FREE system like Disney, then it would be fine IMHO but I would never give the park any money to use this system and due to my dislike of this type of practice among several at the park I spend little to no money at the park!!

It brings in extra money and the lines would be even longer if Flash Pass didn't exist. They would move slower. If you notice a lot of people use Flash Passes. Especially the people in their 20's and many families. It doesn't really slow the line moving because it moves fast and they let half regular/half flash pass people. It's not like without a pass you wait half an hour while the flash pass people board. I love the option of the flash pass. Not for everybody. It still works. Hear that Cedar Point?

I dont agree with charging for line cutting privalages like SF does, but I absolutely HATE Disneys Fastpass. The logistics of it are just retarded. Theres really no good way to pull those type of things off in my opinion, all I can say is if you enter a Disney park in the afternoon all the e-tickets will be out of Fastpasses and the standby lines do not move at all because most rides are 90/10 or 80/20 Fastpass.

People think "We got on Space Mountain without waiting!" and praise Fastpass like its the greatest thing ever, but if your looking on actually going on rides more than once in a day/riding a lot in one day it just makes things much worse. This is one area I actually agree with Cedar Fair about and go commando.

Last I remember they were "talking about" adding FP on Demon/Ragin Cajun/King Chaos (rides that already have paths that bypass the queue lines). They actually did add DejaVu to the systems last year but never actually used it on the ride. in my opinion ALL the coasters and major flats need to use FP if they're going to be charging as much as they are for it. I have no idea why they havent added it on Viper (through HH exit) or Demon, being stubborn.

They really need to check your flash pass before you enter. When I was at Six Flags Great Adventure I had the same problem. There was a line of people that were waiting for their flash pass time to end. You have to fight your way through a line of people. Then when you pass them they give you dirty looks. It would make sense to check them before you entered!

And I can't beleive that Ragin Cajun and Viper are not on the flass pass system. The lines for them are always long. Does it really make sense to add King Chaos and Demon to the flass pass? The line for them is never long for them when I am there.

The last two nights I've been to the park, Demon's queue has been extending to before the rock structure under the lift.

Demon could use it, but routing the line to bypass the queue house would be tricky.

You want to hear about flash pass idiots, I went last Tuesday. There were not that many people there and people were still buying flash passes. I did not wait more than a half an hour in line for every ride. They all wasted their money

Many of these posts are not even remotely related to what the TC is talking about, so let me throw in my 2 cents here because i feel your frustration.

The more and more i go this year the worse people are outside the flash pass line. People stand directly in front of it and when you ask them if its there time, they stand there with a retarded face having no idea what you mean. People think that if you 1 or 2 minutes left that you can just block others.

Personally i just walk all over people and in front of them and i suggest you do the same there. If your time is ready, then you are given the privilege to go to the front.

I have actually seen a damn line for a flash pass on Dark Knight the other day. That ride has a disgusting effect on people, even the flash pass line was long (but it was the first time that has happened to me) and these people were all ready to go but it was out the door with people.

Batman, V2, and Bull sometimes have the worst people of small passage ways.

Batman really is bad though if its crowded... they should just go up the exit line.

Once after literally two hours of waiting for a flashpass during frightfest, I didn't have a phot id with me so they wouldnt let me get a flashpass (from what ive heard, you trade your id for a flashpass and you get it back when you return the flashpass). I was willing to trade my 60gb ipod video for it, and they said no. Are they serious? I can get a new id WAY easier than I can get a $200+ ipod! So then we argue and they said if I can get an id from a friend, I can come back without waiting in line. So I meet my friend, get a school id and show them, and they said school id won't work. So in the end, we didn't get a flashpass . I was so mad.

I think they want something official so they can hunt you down if you forget. Though they could just put a GPS tracking unit in it if they want. They could get all kinds of other stats from that anyway.

The one time I got one, my friend just gave his expired ID :P

I don't like Flash Pass, if it did all the coasters that would be one thing but if it only uses a select few I wouldn't waste my money plus I don't have the money for it.
SF trips 09 = 15
SF trips 10= 11
SF trips 11 =7

Thats because they need official information. Name, Number, address, Phone, ect. They cant get that if you give them an IPod...besides, you could have stolen the IPod, they don't know. Also they wouldnt believe you if you just tell them your information.

Great point, but after that I gave them a school id, and they still didn't accept it. They didn't even explain why?

Ya know, I was using a gold flash pass yesterday, and I came across these people a lot. I just asked them what their time was, and if theres hadn't expired yet, then they were happy to let us through. I haven't run into a person who didn't fully understand that concept yet though...
