If they do that, expanding Hurricane harbor is out of the question.

I think that would be a great spot. They could put in more King Chaos-type rides by Vu and SWF. Coasters always look better at the front of the park.

New Coaster- 2010?!
Dark Knight does NOT count!
7 years without any major ride addition and losing 3 classics is RIDICULOUS!
Guess I won't be goin to the park much in 2009. I don't care about new stuff for Hurricane Harbor.

Magic Mountain gets one very other year. Other parks have been getting new stuff lately like Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags St. Louis. That 10-15 years is not right; its about 5-10 years off.

So since you don't care about HH and Dark Knight doesn't count in your eyes, that means the park isn't adding stuff?

They have added quite a bit between 2003 and now. The park has 12 coasters, and if that doesn't satisfy you, find another place to be entertained.

Isn't Six Flags a Family park? so that means less " Monster Coasters " and a ton of family rides

If the park was run by most people here no one would go.

Think about it in Chicago Santa's Village is gone, Kiddie land is closing in a few years so six flags picked up the slack and added rides for those people.

It's not a bad thing that they have HH and Dark Knight. they need to please every one, not just you.

Hurricane Harbor and Dark Knight do not appeal to thrill seekers. If they continue to appeal to only family crowds the thrill seekers will get pissed off. it should be 50/50 and lately between Wiggle's World, Hurricane Harbor and Dark Knight the thrill seekers which spend just as much money as families have been completely ignored.

since when are you the spokesperson for thrill seekers?
I go to theme parks seeking thrill and roller coasters and the water slides provide that

just because you call yourself a thrill seeker and these dont appeal to YOU does not mean that they don't appeal to all thrill seekers

1) Look what Magic Mountain became when they added coaster after coaster year after year

2) As far as St. Louis...prior to THBS, the last new coaster they received was Boss in 2000, so they went 7 years without a major addition (of course there were some Water Park/Kiddie/Flats expansions); same with SFOT and Titan which was added in 2001....(they, too, received a major flats expansion)

People in the SFGAm area just came to expect a coaster every other season...when many parks in the chain would go 5+ years without an add-on. You also have to consider competition...Parks like Magic Mountain and Great Adventure have to compete with parks around them whereas Great America is in a region with very little competition and they aren't as worried about losing guests to another amusement venue.

It does not take a genius to figure out that Hurricane harbor does not equal the same thing as a high speed coaster. A lot of people don't even go to HH just spend their day inside Great America. 7 years without any major ride is a lot especially since we had Bull in 1999, V2 and DV in 2001 and SUF in 2003. God is it too much to ask for a dive machine after losing 3 rides in one season and having absolutely nothing replace them? The only one with an attitude problem is you. I never claimed to be a spokesperson for the thrill seekers. Just someone who knows the reputation of Dark Knight and that a water park is NOT the same thing as a roller coaster. Especially if it becomes an extra charge next year.

first of all, i didnt say that hurricane harbor equals the thril of a high speed coaster, and yes a dive machine is too much to ask for knowing that six flags is millions of dollars in debt (thats when someone owes money.) You don't seem to be catching on to the fact that six flags is not like disney and doesn't have money to burn. i never said anything about you having an attitude problem... and yes you to seem to think that you are the spokesperson because you said "hurricane harbor does not appeal to thrill seekers" and you saying that seems to me that you are talking about thrill seekers as a whole group. once again i didn't say that the waterpark is the same as a rollercoaster

get over the fact that Vu is gone
get over the fact that you cant get what you want and your countless posts complaining about wanting a new coaster and something to replace DV and SWF immediatley aren't going to make a difference

LOL Everyone has an opinion and Six Flags wastes money keeping Whizzer every year and could have used the 7.5 million spent on Dark Knight for a ride that does not get the lousy reviews and sits in a grey box. I enjoed Dark Knight and I enjoy every ride except Iron Wolf but look at other areas in the park, includin the thousands of flowers, where the park wastes money. I knowSix Flags is not Disney. they would not be in debt, which I knew long before you told me, if they got rid of the stuff that takes a lot of money to run like Whizzer and V2 and got more reliable and smaller rides that don't require so much upkeep. It was a joke they got rid of Splashwater Falls when it was the smallest ride and every time I looked at the lines they were always full. They obviously wantedthe Vu and SWF space all clear for the future. Lets move on. Next.

Of course HH doesn't equal a high speed coaster... who ever said it did?

Many people, such as myself, actually LOVE going to water parks and love riding the slides and going into the pool. That's why so many water parks exist, and that's why SFGAm added Hurricane Harbor. So what if not everyone goes to HH? Everyone is different... some love water parks, others prefer to avoid them. Do you see the water park empty on blazing hot days? Not everyone is the same as you are. Some want a new water slide, some want a new flat ride, and some want a new coaster... Not everyone is a thrillseeker.

We have gotten a LOT if you ask me, these past few years. 5 new rides including a coaster in 2004, HH in 2005, Tornado in 2006, and TDK in 2008. I actually enjoy rides like Cajun and TDK, and Tornado. I've enjoyed all of these additions. It hasn't been 7 years, because I personally think these are all major additions/rides. Sure, maybe not the most thrilling, but not everyone is looking for thrills in case you still haven't figured it out.

It is disappointing we lost 3 rides, but that decision was made only to improve the park for the future. They may not replace them right away, but so what? You have to learn to be patient. We all really have no idea what the future holds for the park, they could have bigger plans than you would think. At least SFGAm isn't like SFA, or SFKK.

You really need to pull your head out of your ungrateful ass and look around you. Let me remind you that right now these rumors are just RUMORS, so why should you complain? SFGAm might still get a coaster next year, nothing is confirmed yet. If they get something else, then awesome! Getting something is better than not getting anything. The park doesn't have enough room or money for all the most thrilling coasters in the world. The park is GREAT with what it has, and if you can't see that, then go somewhere else.

On another note... If the HH expansion rumor turns out to be true, I hope it is either a Proslide Rocket, Proslide Plummet kinda thing, or maybe a Proslide ProBowl. I was looking at the Proslide website today, and looked at everyting, as bored as I was, and learned a lot... yeah. I dunno, but I kind of hope it won't be that Tony Hawk Half Pipe, personally. I'm not for the separate admission idea though, but I'll have a season pass anyway, so it doesn't really matter to me.

But if you think about it, would you rather have the park have no foliage and flowers at all? It really makes the park beautiful. Part of appealing to people is having things that are pleasing to the eye.
