I never went to GL when it existed, but from the pictures i saw, it looked like it was a very nice park but some of the pictures look really bad.....

Some of those waterslides from the expansion before still look awesome. I hope a majority of the park's rides (Most of which are relatively new thanks to Six Flags) are relocated to other parks.

^I agree. It'd be a shame if those rides were just scrapped...

The photo album is eerily similar to the footage I've seen of Riverview Park after it closed. Quite sad.

Here is what I've heard from the auction:

-Villain and Double Loop were sold to a scrapping company. Villain went for $30,000. DL went for $25,000.

-Schlitterbahn Kansas City showed up and made out like bandits, they purchased many of the flat rides and water attractions.

-Raging Wolf Bobs was sold to Apex Western Machinery Movers of Akron for $2,500.

-Apex also purchased the Big Dipper for $5,000. Not sure on the full details, but ACE is upset over a dispute whether or not ACE was offered the ride. Cedar Fair still has not made the final say over the sale.

You gotta remember, the park didnt look like that when it was operating... (no crap...)

But I think some of the coasters went to waste... Even if they were relocated...

^From what it sounds like, the Big Dipper (wooden coaster) will be restored and go SBNO in the new development. But I could be wrong.

Nope, the electric bill would be too high and i'd rather buy a $50,000 car than a tower :D

The park was really nice when i was there (before it was sold to Cedar Fair), they had some pretty amazing water slides! The first Six flags season pass i got was from there, we were near it so we got season passes there since they were cheaper than getting them at SFGAm.
