Sunday June 15

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby yankee Clipper91 on June 15th, 2008, 11:17 pm
This is the first time I have done a trip report so here it goes. We got to the park around 3:00. First we went on the Columbia. That was a fun relaxing ride. Then we went on Rue Le Dodge after that. The ride was interesting becuase I really didn't get to do much becuase somehow my car died during the ride. After that we went on the Condor which was a walk on. After that we saw that the Yankee Clipper was open so we went on that. Then we decided to go on the Whirligig. Since we did Yankee Clipper then we did Logger's Run. After that we went on Fiddler's Fling. That was okay but the ride was really short. Then we did Great America Raceway. We got some food after that. Then we went back to Logger's Run agian.

Then we decided to go back to Yankee Clipper, that ride is so much fun that we did it eight more times. However when were waiting to go back on the ride broke down for about 10 minuets. Then on one of our rides on the Yankee Clipper we saw that Logger's run had broke down and 10 logs jammed up at the bottom of the second lift. Then before I knew it we had just hit a boat. So both of them were having problems. Logger's run was fixed before Yankee Clipper. Then about five minuets later Yankee Clipper was fixed and we started going up the lift.

After that they were putting the boats away and also the park was closing soon. So we decided to ride East River Crawler two times and then the park closed.

Ride Totals

Columbia-1
Rue Le Dodge-1
Condor-1
Yankee Clipper-9
Whirligig-1
Logger's Run-2
Fiddler's Fling-1
Great America Raceway-1
East River Crawler-2

I only felt like riding the marriotts rides. Also Yankee Clipper is shut down a lot due to staffing.

I have been to Great America 5 times in the last week. Sunday was the only day i decided to do a trip report. I could have done whizzer or the demon but I have already been on those this year. Every time I went to Great America Yankee Clipper was shut down. So I finally got a chance to ride it non stop.

To me it seems like a shorter ride than what it was like back in 2006.

wow...i would feel like i wasted gas and parking had i just rode flats.. and clipper 9 times? i mean i understand you cherish the sentimental rides.

but after that you should go and enjoy what newer times have brought.
