Yesterday my parents took me and my brother Evan to the park (he doesn't like driving) and dropped us off while they went to Gurnee Mills. We got there at 3 p.m. and decided to meet up at 8 p.m.
It seemed pretty crowded. First off, we went to Triple Play and waited 15 minutes for red. Then it was off to Whizzer, which was about 20-25 minutes for the very back. That was fun, but I gave Evan whiplash with my ponytail on the first turn :oP
We went to Viper next, which had a good line, about 25 minutes. We sat in the middle, which had the shortest line. Next Evan wanted to do Raging Bull, but the line was long so we decided to wait until later for that, when the crowd hopefully would thin out. So we headed to AE and rode Blue...that was only a 2 minute wait. We rode, it rocked, and when we came back we were able to re-ride. Yay for non-existent lines!!
Batman next...15 minute wait, second to front. A little headbanging, but fun nonetheless! V2's line, pretty bad, so we skipped it...same goes for Dark Knight. What with the darkness and the loudness and the crammed line, it literally made me claustrophobic. Oh, well.
We were getting hot so we used my funnel cake coupon and got the sundaes. Yum! Except I had to throw mine away so I wouldn't puke on Demon, which was next. We sat in the 2:3 and waited 5 minutes.
After that I asked the guy at the Market Stage when the Great America Idol would be, he said at 6:50.
Next was Revolution. We waited kinda long for it, actually...mainly due to the fact that the ride ops moved a little slowly. But it was still fun. After that we had time so we rode AE Red, which I personally like better then Blue. More drops at the end, therefore more airtime. :o)
So Great America Idol was open; I chose to sing :Over the Rainbow: and after I was done people seemed to really like it, one lady even whistled, it was appreciated by me ;o)
We had about an hour left. Raging Bull's line had slimmed down, just as we had hoped. They said 40 minutes, but it was only a half-hour. They were running three trains!!!!! Good for them.
So you see I had lost my nerve and hadn't ridden Bull since '06...which is stupid of me, because really! It is just plain old fun! So smooth, great airtime, that first drop is amazing!!! After that we weren't sure if we'd have time to ride it again, but as it turns out we did get to my parents in time.
Well it was an awesome day...sadly I may not be able to use my other two free tickets because of school and a musical. But hopefully I can go again soon with my cousin!
