Dive to Atlantis at Mt. Olympus removed.

Apparantly, Dive to Atlantis at Mt. Olympus was removed. When I went to RCDB, this is what it showed. Also, on the picture below from Theme Park Review, there appears to be no more Dive to Atlantis. I don't know what to think, as I never rode the ride, and I haven't heard if it was good or not.


Also, on their website, they still show Dive to Atlantis as being one of their rides...

Dive to Atlantis was in fact removed prior to the start of this season.

SFKK's RCDB page looks fine. I really wouldn't expect Twisted Twins to reopen, though I dont think even park park knows for sure what's going on, except they know they'd like their own parking lot and TT is sitting on some prime land there.

Well, since I live 45 minutes away, I had the chance to ride it for the few years it was open. First, they had a canal-like thing at the beginning for loading and unloading, after you loaded, you went off to the left and then went straight where little water fountains would shoot you. Then, you would go right and straight, then left and straight, then right and straight, during it, the water fountains would squirt you. This first part of the ride was very boring as all that was moving you was the current of the water. That part of the ride would usually take well over a minute. Then you would finally climb the lift hill, which sent you up about 80 feet. Then you would turn right and go down 20 feet, and go up about 10 feet. Finally, you make another right turn and splash down 70 feet. You make two more rights and then you go into the canal. It was a pretty decent ride that did get you wet. They took it out of there pretty quick, with all the building into the land and cement and all. What occupies the spot now is a "large group picnic shelter". I still wonder why the sign is still up, as they are usually the first things to be taken down. Oh well.

I found it very strange, because it was still standing in March. I went to Mt. Olympus for Spring Break, and I have pictures of it. It was very bizarre walking through the park when it was still closed for the season. It wasn't blocked off or anything, anyone could just walk right in.

I emailed the park and they replied...

Hi Patrick - We decided somewhat last minute to tear down the ride to replace it with our Group Sales pavilion. We still need to update the maps of the park.

At least they tear down one ride down for another attraction called The River Troy- a fast currant channel like the one in Seaworld Aquatica water park!

The ride was slow moving not like loggers run and not a-lot a people riding it!

I liked the ride but its nothing special. A 40 person line meant a hour wait

anything that just technically makes it count as a coaster irks me.

I NEVER counted the ride a coaster. adding an extra non-water drop is a bit of an insult.....mmmm.... that is really all i can think of calling it.

I look forward to what they'll put in there. a new go-kart track or a REAL coaster is more than welcomed by me.

/\ Agreed completely. It was really boring just floating there for like 10 minutes for a simple drop that got you wet and hot days were dry before you got off.

Highly doubt they are going to put up a new go cart track or a new roller coaster. 1st off, the land where Dive to Atlantis was sitting on wasn't that big a piece of land, it would have to be a very small go cart track/roller coaster. That land is also very close in proximity to Zeus, Cyclops, and the go cart track that goes underwater. 2nd off, they just added a huge new picnic pavilion. That is about the only place where big groups can eat together, besides the other side of the park at the Family Land side where the wavepool is, heck, that place isn't even that big. You'd probably have better luck building a new ride near the Triton waterslide, that area is bigger than the area where the new pavilion sits on. But you never know, I could be wrong. They could go for something underground again. You never know...
