With the less than great childrens ride this past year and ther state financially of Six flags I was thinking of a way they could bring a great ride here at no cost. Why don't they bring back the Z-Force...Yes it needs a paint job and some mechanical work but this ride could be ready quickly, it's fun, and doesn't take up alot of space. The ride is in storage in Cali and could be brought here and set up, painted, and minor rebuilds if needed for under 3 Mil. That's less thank half they spent on the Dark Knight and is alot more fun. Since the ride was only here for 2 years this would be awesome. Wanted to gather thoughts.
Shockwave was such a great coaster. Too bad it was left unprotected from 2002-2004 and rust killed it. I also heard most of the bolts and other important parts were sold. It would be impossible to bring it back. I don't even think a coaster has ever risen from the dead. Our park needs a new thrill ride because the thrill seekers have had nothing to smile about since Superman in 2003. That is 5 years. The families got Wiggles, HH (Mostly for families) and now Dark Knight. Z-Force would not be a hit these days; the hrill seekers would not get much of a thrill from it.
Z-Force and Shockwave are too busy hanging out in coaster heaven. You would have better luck getting Deja Vu back than either of these rides. Vu is still intact.
Shockwave really had no physical problem. The only reason it was scraped when it was was due to rising scrap steel prices. It was entirely salvageable for any park wanting to take on a liability such as Shockwave.
No "important" parts were sold either, bolts are always replaced upon rebuilding a ride, after the decision was made that it was worth more as scrap, the trains were dispersed around the chain for spare parts (SFMM and SFGAdv) were the beneficiary's of those. Lift motor and chain were kept in the park I believe, may have heard Demon got those, but not 100% sure, I'm sure others could fill in those specifics.

Most of the track and supports went to the scrapyard in Zion, IL. The red train went to Six Flags Great Adventure to use for spare parts on their Great American Scream Machine roller coaster.[3] The yellow and blue trains went to Six Flags Magic Mountain for parts on their Viper roller coaster.[4] The sign at the ride's entrance was donated to the American Coaster Enthusiasts' Museum. Several bolts were auctioned off at a coaster convention. A few poles remain in Great America's employee parking lot. The lift motor was installed at the Demon. The large metal gates that were once part of Shockwave’s entrance were painted black and can be found during Fright Fest as part of the entrance to the Seven Sins Cemetery. A portion of the spiral staircase once used to gain access to a maintenance platform between the 3rd loop and block brake is now used at the base of Whizzer’s lift hill. An air compressor and a scrap of track are being used as props for Fright Fest. The main queue house for Shockwave is still currently being used for Superman Ultimate Flight's queue.
Sadly this is a useless topic. I'm one of the few whose actually been on Z-Force (Flashback), and it wasn't fun. Not for kids, not for anyone. Its almost beyond repair. I'd laugh if it ever did come back.
Shockwave is never coming back. Ever. Not even in your dreams. It's been scrapped, it's parts for various Arrow coasters now.
There's reasons why things are scrapped. If they're scrapped, they're going to stay scrapped.

I think we have enough family-oriented rides and attractions. Especially over the last few years. The thrill seekers have been greatly ignored since Superman 5 years ago. I don't want any past ride back. I want something new. Something that is not for little kids and families. Something that may be small but gives you a lot of satisfaction. Look at V2. Not very long yet the best ride in the park. When you actually get on it.
Kind of off topic, Z-force was bollinger and mabillard right?
Oh and just a little cool thing. My father's former job was scrapping, his company actually bidded for shockwave, they lost the bet, but he said that he would have bought me a short segment of the track. I thaught that would be pretty cool.
