I have gone to the park many times by myself when my kids are busy and I need to gert some rides in.
I've had a good time, its more fun with other people. but you can also enjoy yourself IMHO by enjoying the ride and people watching etc as you stroll around the park.
I would say go for it and see how you like it.

Thats good to hear. I will be working full time during the week over the summer so i know I wont have a chance to go on some of the less crowded weekdays.

I am 20 year old, so it makes me look like a loner though although i am pretty independent and have gone to Cubs games, concerts by myself when friends are not around.

Too bad SFGA doesn't have a single riders line like some parks to fill seats :D

Thanks for the advice

Until I met my current boyfriend, I was almost always alone. One of my parents always took me, but never went on the rides. I hated it sometimes. But there were times when I'd bring a friend, or meet up with a bunch of people from this site. Even the first year me and my boyfriend were together, I didn't always bring him with cause he didn't have his license at the time. Once he got his license, that next year in 2006 he was always the one bringing me, going on rides with me. My parents haven't had a season pass since :D

It's not bad, you get that little bit of extra freedom.
You can jump ahead of some people in the stations if there's another single rider, it's not a bad gig.

But just try it, and see if you like it.

I go to the park alone most of the time by myself and its cool to me because you get the freedom like another poster said earlier and getting in the coasters quicker too is plus. I go with groups when i can, but sometimes family or friends are just not into going to the park sometimes for different reasons, so i just go alone because the season seems to go really quick and next thing you know the park is is closing for the season.

When i first started doing it, it seemed awkward, but once you start doing it more, you get used to it and eventually you start making friends with the employees or other season pass holders that go a lot. Give it a chance, You'll be ok..

I think its really relaxing personally. You can just think and wait and line and watch the rides...listen to the sounds and the music.

Although, it does get kind of boring if you go on a busy day and have to wait in 1+ hour lines. But sometimes, you can talk to people in line. I talked to a group of people in line for dejavu when I was waiting by myself. There was a miscatch then some people were say "oh this rides a piece of crap" and such, then I was like "yeah its down a lot". Then the next thing I knew, I was having a conversation for 2 hours.

when I was about 13/14 my parents let me roam around the park by myself (and gave me a cell phone while they were at the park), and I would just go around on all the rides. Sometimes its better because you get on the rides VERY fast, and on multiple occasions I got re-rides. Another plus is you get to go where you want to go, and you can do what you want want, and not listen to other peoples opinions. Like my friends go to eat when i go to the park, but I dont eat when i go to six flags for the whole day sometimes, so i just go to the arcade, or go off on my own for a little while. Its pretty relaxing sometimes I guess.

You would have to experience it yourself though, its to hard to just say without anyone personally knowing you, but I would think most people would enjoy it.

Also I'm 17, in case any was like WTF?

I actually prefer going to the park myself. I'll go to the park with people, and I'll usually wind up splitting up with them somehow. A lot of my friends like to eat in the park, or play in the arcade. When I'm by myself I can do whatever. If only there was a single rider line.

I went to the park by myself armed with a Canon Digital Rebel XTI and got some pretty lame photos (just wasn't feeling it that day). I will say though, I noticed so many little things I never noticed. The music becomes brighter, you can "see" so much more of the park.
What's really funny, is that you think I'm from the GP (General Public). When indeed, I most likely know far more about the coaster, as I've rode it multiple times.
have i ever!
I had a season pass for six years (this is my first year without one... :( ) and i almost -always- went by myself. It got old sometimes, but for the most part, its nice to be able to make every decision for yourself, and sneak on rides as a single rider. The best part though, is when you go to the park by yourself and end up running into someone you haven't seen in YEARS, and then get to spend time in line catching up on things.
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.

I go to the park a lot of times alone. What I like about doing it is that if the park is empty, I can sit on a ride over and over again, an no one is mad that I don't want to go ride other rides! :D

There is one thing that you cannot do alone in the park, and that is ride the Tornado waterside. Rules say you must have at least 2 people in the raft. I forgot about that when I went last Saturday, and was told I could not ride as I was alone. The good thing with this is that I was told before I took the raft up to the top. I had the option to wait around for a group of 2 or 3 and ride with them, or not ride. As it was kind of a slow day on Saturday, I went and rode another slide. Not a big deal to me, as I know why the park does it.

I really enjoy going to the park alone. Not only for the reasons many others have said, but it gives me a chance to unwind from a busy day, to people watch, or to just ride a ride over and over and over again.

Many times seeing as most of my friends either can't go or don't want to.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

That reminds me. My parents have taken me to CP and Geauga Lake a few times, and so I rode all the rides alone pretty much. The very last time I was at CP, it was nighttime. I was in line for Dragster, waiting for the long front row line. For a while I was pondering if this one guy way ahead of me in the front row line was a single rider. I finally asked him, and I got to ride a lot sooner, with him. It was great. It's pretty nice to get on rides a lot faster, even if you have 2 people and the coaster seats 4 to a row.
