At night time, have more actors go through the queue lines and jump out of bushes (if there is any that they can fit in) and just get people scared so it can be thrilling while waiting for the ride, and riding it! Rise of the Demon area was awesome! It would be awesome if they put "more" fog during th eride and in more than just 1 or 2 places throughout Demon. Other than that, FF is great! :D

Try to make it the best ever. Try to make it terrifyng in places and kiddy in other places. That would make it more family oriented. :)

This might be possible, add as many carts as possible on all coaster, maybe 3 for whizzer, raging bull and the eagle, and batman, those tend to have longer lines. But during fright fest, i have waited 4 hours for raging bull and I went home. Try to make the lines shuffle a little faster. or let us do something while we wait in line sich as tvs?!?!?

-A haunted house by where dvu was : this is also another great idea. With all of that open space, it'd be a really good idea.

-Trying to get Blood River back in operation : While I do want to see it actually run again, I dont think it will happen. I guess water rides cannot operate legally passed a certain date and that's why we cant ride it. however, putting water and such back in it would be great!

- WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE : I really liked it, too. Want to see this one back as well!

- DEAD MANS PARTY : I think this was the best idea yet, I didnt even think of it! With Theater Royale gone, moving this to Wilderness Theater would be awesome! The only problem is that that are is part of Necropolis, so something with the midway would need to be worked out.

Heres what I can't do

- Hurricane Harbor FF : sorry guys, this will never happen and i really dont want it to either. HH is so huge and wide open that it would be hard to get the theme of halloween there. Its also carribean themed making it hard to get the theming done right.

Thanks again and keep the ideas coming!!!!!!

Yeah DMP not being in TR hurts (as does having TDK there instead but thats not part of this discussion). But if it were redone, it would be great (sound and such is dead on....pun intended).

As for HH, yes it can be done. Why not just a hayride kind of thing there? Theres plenty of space for one. Just run it down the sidewalk from Skull to Tornado and maybe over the bridge over the LR. And maybe bloody the river....that is so easy to do. And change the signs on the stands to reflect the season. And maybe put a dummy body in the sharks mouth. And you can get trolls to watch the entrance to HH.

Definitely. It seems every year it gets more "kiddie". I remember the twins who would follow you (Shining). that was kind of creepy.
But every year it gets more and more (Un-Freight Fest). Sorry, I want to go to a Haunted House and get my wits scared, especially if I pay extra (could have included that in the early passes during last years FF).

Ok heres a bold Idea. LAFF is a great show, very popular and always packed inside. Right> Ok, so heres an idea....move it to SW theater. An outside venue where lights, props, lasers, etc can be used to limitless proportions. And if you cut out some of the BS in it, w can shorten it like 10 minutes or more.
And then move DMP to the theater, since RCinaBox has taken over TR.

Fright Fest is my favorite time to go to Six Flags. I have been to every Fright Fest SFGAm has thrown, and I can safely say that each year gets a little better.

Typically the main reasons I go are, (and in their correct order)

1.) Terror Twister!
2.) Hellevator
3.) Demon
4.) Rue Le Morgue
5.) Necropolis w/ Mayor Slayer

That being said, some changes or possible additions would be:

1.) The Boo Line returns - and not Pigman, or Scooby Doo. I'm talking the real, spooky Boo Line from years past. It was a rush to have the monsters jump onto the train and get in your face.

2.) Rise of the Demon returns. This was one of the best areas of Fright Fest 2007. I would like an extended (slightly) version of this - more enclosed, scarier, and possibly add monsters within the actual line queue. Because Demon is a family coaster, I would only want Demon to become "Haunted" for perhaps the last 2 hours in any given day, and allow families to know to stay away from the area once this designated time was set. This would still allow them time to ride it, even in the darker parts of night, without having to worry about little Jimmy getting freaked my some dude scaring the 15 girls ahead of him in line.

3.) The return of Hellevator. On a clear, still night, this ride is fantastic. The fog stays in the station, the music beats against your chest, and it is almost a party than a ride. The sound effects atop the tower scare people to death who don't have any idea what the hell they are riding - This in of itself is one of the funniest reasons to ride. I love dancing in my chair at the top listening to everyone scream thinking it is falling apart.

4.) Terror Twister! Honestly, do I have to give a reason? Three complaints: Get DJ Terror out of there! He is useless... but if you need to advertise B96 do it elsewhere! The announcements in the queue are horrible... Like I have said so many times before, I DO NOT WANT TO HOLLAR! Make the music coordinate with the lights! Good use of fog, so keep it up! In a perfect world, Mayor Slayer would speak for the Haunted attractions. This would get people interested on who he is, and also make him more popular and wanted.

5.) Perhaps 2008 would be a good time for the return of BRUTAL PLANET. This house was interesting, not because it was scary, but intense nonetheless. If Rise of the Demon is returning, make this the most intense "scare" and make Brutal Planet a "different" kind of scare. Hopefully some of you went through it when it was here some years ago.

6.) Revamp "The Birds" a little. Play some creepy music; add a few more fog machines... Last year was a fantastic year for the debut of this ride, but now it needs a little improvement. The ride cycle is fantastic, I would run it again.

7.) Pumpkin Head by the front pond needs some different things to say - or say his 1 line not so often. I sat up front for about 10 minutes and heard it 6-8 times.

These are just some of the additions, revamps, or thoughts I always have. Fright Fest 2007 was fantastic, and I am hoping for a wonderful follow up.

I think The Dark Knight should be transformed for Fright Fest, Kind of like the transformation of Space Mountain at Disneyland into Rockin' Space Mountain. I heard that the Space Mountain in Hong Kong was transformed for halloween last year.

I have been running a haunted house in my garage for the past few years in Ravinia Woods(West Gurnee). I could probably draw some consepts for the transformation and post them.

a few years back you had Characters who would follow you at a distance, ( the twins from childern of the corn were among those) What happened?, that was fun and scary at the same time, Bring back activity like that, also have special nights where kiddies are not allowed, or leave the night time for the big kids, sundown = kiddies under 15 go home, .It has become so lame that the name should be changed to not so fright fest. you guys have the resources to do better, and I hope you will at least try to make fright fest 2008 like the good old days. fun and SCARY...if not, maybe change the name, or dont have it at all.its called FRIGHT FEST not kiddie day at the park. Lets have a Fright Fest 2008 to remember ok guys, try at least?

Again you guys, i really like all of the ideas that have been coming out in this thread, thanks a lot.

THere are just a few things i have to say. First is when you guys are thinking of ideas, make them bold, make them big, make them awesome,...... but also- you have to keep them practical. Theres something that holds everything back all the time- money. Some of the ideas just cant happen. I would love to see most things that have been said happen.

One thing though that you guys have to get through your heads is that Huricane Harbor FF. Yes it is huge, and thats the problem. There is TOO much open space to do anything remotely Fright Fest-ie.

I think The Dark Knight shoud be transformed for Fright Fest, like Space Mountain at Disneyland was transformsed into Rockin Space Mountain. I heard the Space Mountain in Hong Kong was transformed for Halloween last year. Maybe add effects, decorations, or lights to some other rides too (and maybe have music blasting throughout some of the rides). The Pictorium should show one of the halloween shows from Discovery Channel/Science Channel like "A Haunting".

I have built a haunted house for halloween each year in my garage in ravinia woods(in West Gurnee). I can draw some concept designs for Fright Fest ideas and post them soon.

Somehow I dont believe it for a second that you cant use HH for anything during FF...thats hogwash. Thats like having an open field and not being able to play baseball in it. Im sure if Shapiro and his henchmen in NYC banged heads together, something can be done.

But like you said, Budget. And they spent all that money to build RC in a Box (TDK) and raised all the prices all over the park to pay for it that they have no more money for anything else. Puhlease.

Hunted train needs to come back! Only at night 5pm to Close-Running every 45 mins Apart.
To guaranteed full trains and give actors a break between trains.

Rise of the Demon- should be place in the Queue Line of the Demon Ride. So, it can enhance the Ride experience! Times- 5 pm to Close. This gets line blocking the midway out of the way like last year.

Eliva film can go in Pictorium and still be a 3d Experience

Dead Man's Party tried to get it in Wilderness Theater. It does need Sound and Light upgrade to the theater. Then after the show, release the people one row at a time for Necicoplis - Crowd Control.

Area 51 Should go back to Hometown Square Area - Actors out after 5 pm

Hunted hay-ride maybe go in HH. It's just wide open space to work with. Queue is the normal HH Entrance line.

Six Flags TVs should be playing old time Monster Horror Flicks!

Why 5 pm, because everything running at 100% to Scarce living daylight out of you! Before 5pm Kids can come and fun too. At 5 pm everyone pays full price at the gate. No kid prices(under 48"). So more money in the Budget for more Hunted Attractions.

The Birds is a Great Improvement Kept It! Hollywood section is Southwest
Party all Night, Sleep all DAY!!!

^Okay, heres what happens during FF. (as far as ride changes, no, only a select few do)

ENTRANCE- FF flag over gam sign on grand ave. FF sign over the parking booth w/ a cemetery next to it. A large inflatable pumpkin w/ 6 FF flags around it where the american flags are during the reg. season. All of the flowers are ripped out. Burlap bags are hung around the entrance plaza along with a few skeletons and portraits with faces coming out of them.

CAROUSEL PLAZA- All flowers are ripped out. The reflection pond turns into a blood pool with branches and torches in it. Graveyards on either side of the reflection pond and midway. A pumpkin animatronic is in front of columbia which does a greeting every five minutes. Columbia gets decorated with cobwebs skeletons burlap and all kinds of stuff. Fog billows out over the pond and midway. Music is playing in the background. Corn stalks and hay bales are all over the place. (from 2001-2005, stalk-around characters were in here. They will most likely come back for this year)

ORLEANS PLACE- **becomes Seven Sins Cemetery** A new entrance is made with a gat, archway, and two huge torches that have massive amounts of flames every ten minutes. ALso by the entrance are two huge fog machines that make avery thick fog to walk through every fifteen minutes. Burlap and cobwebs are hung from the buildings. By what was theatre royale, a cemetery was set up with personal tombs, leaves, hay, fog, strobe lights, flicker lights, air blasts, and corn stalks. Characters include vampires and warewolves. RIDES- Rue le dodge becomes rue le mourgue. It is completely enclosed and has all kinds of themeing inside. Condor becomes the Birds and has a different ride cycle.

MARDI GRAS- **becomes the Carn-EVIL of Doom** The king jester gets a new creepy head. All kinds of killer clown props and large clown heads are on top of buildings. Fog is in a few places (the bridges). Characters include killer clowns and evil jesters. RIDES- Roaring Rapids becomes Blood River. This ride has not operated for a few years but the water is died red and does have scenery in case it does operate.

YANKEE HARBOR- **becomes Haunted Harbor** Pirate flags are all over the place. flowers are ripped out and replaced with treasure chests, pirate torches, pirate skeletons, and fog machines. A yankee clipper boat serves as a blockade for the ride and has two skeletons inside of it. That body of water is turned red. Characters include living dead pirates. RIDES- East River Crawler becomes the Monster Mash but has no new scenery.

YUKON TERRITORY- This is the portion of the park for little kids. It is themed to be more of a halloween party than to scare you. Bat banners and string lights are hung between buildings. Corn stalks are found everywhere along with pumpkins. A few halloween boxes are around (boxes that do stuff when you press buttons). At select times, the kid sections have trick or treating and characters have halloween fun costumes on. NO scary characters. No ride changes.

PICNIC GROVE- This is the biggie.... **becomes NECROPOLIS: Haunted City of the Dead** Abandon all you know about the grove because this is nothing like it. First of all, the path is reversed. You enter by loggers run and exit by V2. The entrance it a huge gate with tree branches and stuff growing on it along with rusty gates and huge skull on top of it. This takes place of the loggers run sign. When walking through, there are constantly cemeterys and skeletons. During the day, minimal effects are used as little kids want to walk through. Different pneumatics and animatronics are used everywhere. There are different scenes including "bad santas toy shop" "the die-ning room" "bates motel" and an accident scene. This is also the place to go to to get to The Mausoleum of Terror. The actaul house uses (for those of you who know it) Grove Pavillion 2. During the night, there is fog used everywhere, sometimes to the extent of you cant see the hand in front of you. A lot of lighting is used like strobe lights, flicker bulbs, flood lights, and police lights. Characters include- Mayor Slayer, grave diggers, living bushes, the nanny, school girl, zombie twins, the janitor, and other various creatures.

COUNTY FAIR- **becomes Area 51** The yukon/county bridge is the warning place for A51 with aliens and a big "Millitary Instillation Area 51" sign above the bridge. In front of the train station is a huge UFO. A terminator animatronic is infront of the funnel cake foundry. Most of the scenery ends by the time you reach Revy but the music is heard all the way until SWT and HS. Alien remains are found scattered along with hay bales and corn stalks. Flicker bulbs are hidden everywhere and at night is a real specticle. Characters include- Army Commandos, Robo aliens, stalk around aliens (on stilts). RIDE CHANGES- Iron wolf becomes The Predator

SOUTHWEST TERRITORY- **becomes Southwest Scare-itory and Tinsle Town Terror** The main part about SWT during FF is that it focuses on being as dark as it can be. It is very dimly light with only a few flicker bulbs and accent lighting on the decayed western scenery. Throughout most of SWT, there is nothing too special but a few scenery items. The main part it between Ricochet and Chubasco, this becomes Tinsel Town Terror. The various stalls become movie studios. The courtyard is where the Freak Show is. Various dead actors and such are atop the roof tops. It is also barricaded in by an actual mesh fence. The entrance is located by where Trail blazer used to be and is just a big sign really held up by two iron blocks. ON the ricochet side it is like a security booth, only the security guard is supposed to be dead. Characters include- director, actresses, camera boy (all supposed to be living dead). RIDE CHANGES- Ricochet becomes Rico-slay, Giant Drop NORMALLY becomes the Hellevator, Chubasco becomes Terror Twister with fog lights and music, Viper becomes Snakes on a Train (rubber snakes everywhere.... DUMB). This also hosts the Studio 13 Haunted House where 13 horror movies are showcased in a walk through haunted house.

COUNTY FAIR BRIDGE- **becomes Illinois TROLL-way** Dimly lit with some fog at times. Hosted by the infamous Trolls of Fright FEst!!!!!

HOMETOWN SQUARE- In previous years it has been Area 51. Last year, it was just like Yukon Territory, a halloween party. Not much ehre. Some scarecrows, corn stalks, pumpkins, and some random lighting. Also for some reason a Predator stature is on top of the building next to HTFM.

Well, thats pretty much it. I may add more if i think of something or if someone notices i left something out.

IN the mean time, you can view my slide show of over 50 pics to help you see what its like more! ENJOY!!!

I heard they were going to be moving Dead Man's Party to the Wilderness Theatre this year anyway. So looks like you may be getting your wish. It kinda makes sense in there anyway, what with it being Necropolis and all. Plus, since the Freak Show has been moved, they are lacking any kind of show over there.

Hi guys,

I hate to say it but I will most likely NOT be going to Six Flags Great America Fright Fest this season. Why? Well, when I went last year it was not scary at all, which is why I go there anyways. The "scary" people did not even come out for a long time, and they were not even scary looking. If I were to go again and I had to pay, I would honestly think about even going there. Also, it is way too crowded during Fright Fest, which is never a good thing. Lastly, when I went to a haunted house, it did not scare me 1 bit. If you want to go to a amusement park and be scared, then go to Universal Studios in Florida!

Hi,

Sorry for the confusion. What I mean is that usually when I go to Six Flags Great America I will go no matter what. However, if I was invited to go and had to pay, I would think about going or not going. Usually it is a sure thing that I will go because I love roller coasters. In this case, I would not just say "yes" right away, I would think about if I really wanted to go or not.

I cant remember if they do this but dye the little water pools around (under the towers) of v2 red...dye them red and have fake bodies and skelations in the water.

-TDK- hang bodys and cobwebs in the "Station", add some fog and strobe lights in the line and make it look completely abandon.

-Giant drop, make the weaving part enclosed and in the tunnels/mine shafts have fog on the floor and the brown cut tarps and cob webs over the cage.

-Bring back rise of the demon, and add a haunted house in Vu's old spot.

Ill try to think of more things later.
God bless NIU

!DONT GET RIDD OF THE TEA CUPS THEMING!
It's the best tea cups experience ever!
(maby keep the disco theme for the entire season...I love disco tea cups)

Just a thought. Can you make haunted lines
like for roller coasters with long lines .. Add theming
or make sections into haunted houses ect. Just to liven up those boring lines
lines now :? line should be
