Dark Knight Seasonpassholder Perks - Still going to happen?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Cryptkeeper on May 13th, 2008, 12:15 am
You guys might recall that, in order to try to help with sales of seasonpasses, SFGAm had an offer on their website for people that bought seasonpasses in October last year. It stated:

1. NEW IN 2008 — THE DARK KNIGHT COASTER
Experience THE DARK KNIGHT Coaster in total darkness. Coming to Six Flags
Great America in 2008. Buy today and get exclusive ride time on May 21.*

* These rewards available only to Passholders who purchase and process a 2008 Season Pass by October 28, 2007. Plus, get a bonus COASTERS AFTER DARK on June 11, when the park stays open two hours late and the coasters are all yours — just for passholders who buy and process during Fright Fest '07.

I'm curious to know, as I don't see any details about either perk on the SFGAm website, is either one of these still going to take place? Has anyone heard about either one? And if they're still going to take place, are they still just limited to people who bought their pass during Fright Fest? For those that did buy your pass last year during Fright Fest, did they give you something to prove that you bought your pass at that time?

TIA for any info you can provide. :)

^ How can they even tell you bought your pass during fright fest? I don't think they look any different nor will they have anyone 'scanning' your season pass. I do not see what there is to stop anyone from going to either event. *if they are indeed honoring these events anymore.

When you buy a season pass now do they give you a lanyard with it???

My understanding is that people who bought there season pass early received a lanyard which will allow the special perk of ride time on TDK.

We bought our season passes early and received a lanyard with the season pass and a card showing that we bought it early and can use the perks. I sure hope the ERT is still happening, but either way, I'll be there.

Thanks for the update/link to TDK, sadly I might not be able to stay at the park long enough to use the ERT time due to work. I hope it is open earlier in the day so i can at least ride it. My guess is there will be some unhappy people at the park that afternoon as they watch others enjoy the new ride!!

Does anyone know if the lanyards they were selling for a buck included the bonus rewards that give you ERT on TDK as well as a couple of other perks???

No they do not. The $1 lanyards were just a lanyard with a slot for the season pass. The lanyards they gave away last year had 2 slots... one for a cardboard card saying that you purchased the season pass before October 31st, and another slot for your season pass. I think it's actually the cardboard thingy that they are looking for, and not so much the lanyard itself.

I got mine last year, during a contest during Freight Fest (got 4). And yeah I got the special lanyard with the specials listed (extra CAD night along with the ERT on TDK). It was a damn Wednesday, jeez I mean people work during the week, dont they know that.
Of course I made up for it over the weekend going on TDK. And I got to tell you, Im glad I waited. If I wanted to go around in a circle, I would have gone on RC (Rajin Cajun). That is all TDK is, is RC in a box. Im sorry, its a ripoff. To put RC in abox, they raised EVERY price in the park, from lockers to cups to parking. Im surprised Shapiro doesnt charge you to breathe the air in his park.
And I didnt brink my lanyard as it wasnt a particular day to do it. I think they will be looking for you to have that lanyard on those days.

It is what it is. Its another ride the whole family can ride. I have a daughter who is 42" tall. She can (and does) ride Spacely's, Whizzer, Demon and TDK. I'm glad TDK is there, one more coaster we can ride together.

chevyman34, what did you expect from TDK? Did you go into the line thinking it would be a larger coaster? Or did you know it was a mouse before you rode it?

Along with that point, It doesn't always have to be the biggest, fastest, or craziest ride to be a good ride.

I agree with tha 2 last posters.
TDK is a very good family coaster!!!
It is a mouse coaster, a very good mouse coaster that has some theming, and if reports are true some more effects will be added as time goes by to make it a better ride. If some were expecting another RB type ride, i dont know what they were thinking before they rode it. Enjoy the ride for what it is, and hopefully with more expeirence with these type of rides SF will get better at creating them.

The ERT for TDK was a bad setup. 4-6 pm WEDnesday Should have been on Media Day to come and enjoy the Ride! Or, Be the first ones to ride on TDK on Wednesday and use the Flash pass Lane to re-ride it as much you can the rest of the Day. Like what they at SFMM X2 opening day!
Party all Night, Sleep all DAY!!!
