I am looking to go to Six Flags Great America on Memorial Weekend. What would you said is the best day out of the weekend including Memorial Monday to go? And if it is Monday, is it really crowded??????

Thanks! :D

Monday would be the best day to go. Everyone is usually doing other things like parades, sleeping in, cook outs, ect.

Check out the trip report forum. There are bound to be trip reports from memorial day for the past couple of years in there. Good Luck

You might want to check the weather along with the radar and make multiple calls to Six Flags on your way there. They might make the decision to close again after being only open for 2 hours and give you rude and sarcastic comments when you get there.

Kudo's to kissylou!!

I have found this weekend to be pretty busy, even on Sunday, but I would think Monday would be the best day, unless the weather forecast is bad for sunday which would make that day the best.

Puh-lease  Some of you really need to just grow up. Last I checked, this is the Memorial Day weekend topic, not the 5th #(^&@ about the park closing early on a day that no one was there

FYI, no coasters shut down for wind unless the wind speed reaches 30 mph. Batman operates in even higher wind speeds. Batman was down yesterday because the grease drips on guests when the track is wet, and that can, and has, ruined clothing.

Hello Fellow Forumers,
I would like to ask two quick questions.

1) Do you think Memorial Day weekend will be more crowded compared to a regular day at SFGA?

2) Which day do you think would have more guests, let say with good weather conditions, Saturday or Sunday?

Thank-you ans I appreciate your responses.

Sincerely, jbujwit10

Hi jbujwit10,

The local news channels are predicting a possible 80 degrees for Saturday (Although both Accuweather.com and NOAA.gov are only predicting high sixties.) If it is warm you can expect larger crowds. It's a traditionally busy weekend there regardless.
A lot of locals (like me) who cannot afford to spend $200 on gas to go away for the weekend will head there instead. That's also Hurricane Harbors opening day, so that should bump up the attendance numbers a bit too.
I would think Sunday would be the busiest, but that's just a guess. Again, a lot depends on the unpredictable May weather. It's hard to think about opening day at Hurricane Harbor being just six days away when it's a crisp 48 degrees here in Gurnee this morning.

And for Pete's sake, here is a link to some random memorial day topic. Good luck reading it though.
