5/4 Trip report

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby tsalas08 on May 4th, 2008, 9:00 pm
So today was a much better day by far than opening day for me. The weather was much better(about 10 degrees warmer and much less wind). I got there around noon and went straight to the pass processing center to get my younger siblings passes processed(it was a 3 min line compared to at least an hour. MUCH more was open today in terms of rides and vendors. One thing that did kinda ticked me off was that a security guard approached me telling me the on ride photo staff said I flipped off the camera - it seriously confused me because all I did was have my hands up w/ my tongue out. He didn't actually verify the picture with the staff or who I was and it could have been anyone. We decided to split the costs of a flash pass (only because everyone else wanted to so I kinda didn't have a choice) so it made most of the lines that much faster. After paying more attention, this week, I defiantly noticed all the crews going very slow (except raging bull they get an A++) rarely ever did I see trains stacked on raging bull. I gave Iron Wolf its last ever courtesy ride as the ride host at the entrance to the station was assigning rows(anyone ever notice this before - I haven't) I got stuck in the very back and ended up with a horrible headache. Also, they did a lot of work on B:TDK and you can see lots of themeing going up inside the building. Overall enjoyable day, can't wait to go back!

Roaring rapids and Yankee Clipper were both closed. I'm not sure about Loggers Run. I saw empty "logs" running but never saw any riders during the time I was in the area.

I'm assuming loggers run was open again because I saw the occasional soaked person, and I did see that the water was running, but never even saw a log anytime I looked.

I was there on Sunday too. Did anyone else hear the announcement; "When walking through the park, please keep your sleeves down." I thought they said "speed" not "sleeves." But then I saw a couple of kids rolling their sleeves down. Is that some kind of gang thing or what? I roll my sleeves up when I am wearing longer sleeved shirts. Are rolled up sleeves some kind of SFGA no no?

^ I was at the park on Sunday as well, but did not hear the announcement about the sleeves. I was wearing a Sweatshirt from CP with long sleeves, and I had them rolled up. No one said anything to me.

So, not sure what this is all about.

^ i was wearing a tee-shirt (a red Wisconsin badgers tee shirt in case anyone saw me? eh probably not) but the other three people were wearing sweaters with their sleeves rolled up and no one mentioned anything. so I think it was probably a mis-understanding. I heard the occasional no-smoking one though but they're so quiet most the time I tune them out.

Nice TR! No, I haven't heard of them assigning seats on IW. I was there on Sunday also, and I got to pick where I wanted. :?

I also heard the announcement about wearing your sleeves down. It is vey wierd! Must be some gang thing. They also made another announcement about not wearing orange shoes?!!? Very wierd.

I was wearing a TPR shirt, and I think director_guy saw me, and I saw him. Anyone see a kid (13) wearing a TPR shirt taking pictures? Anyway, if you want to see my pictures, just scroll down to the TR on this page.
