Help! Need suggestions for coaster trip 2008

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Hey everyone,

A couple of years ago, my sister and I decided to start a new tradition whereas we venture away from our home park (SFGA) for an out-of-town coaster trip. That year, we traveled to Sandusky and hit Cedar Point, which was awesome!

Well, after taking last year off, it is now time for us to begin planning this year's excursion. We're probably going to do a 3 day, 2 night kind of deal. We'll drive up one day, maybe hit the park for a few late afternoon or evening hours, hit it the entire next day, and then drive home the following day. The question is, where are we going to go?

We're going to keep this trip in reasonable driving distance from the Chicagoland area, so the most we're willing to go is maybe 5-6 hours (300-400 miles). Anything beyond that will just be too far and expensive with gas prices. Other than SFGA, I know that SFKK, SFSTL, Wisconsin Dells, Cedar Point, and PKI are all within that distance. Are there any notable parks that I am missing? Do you guys and gals have any parks to suggest that I have failed to list? At this point, I think we're just leaning toward heading back to the point. After all, Maverick was only in the construction stages last time around, and you really can't go wrong with MF and TTD. Then again, it might be cool to take a ride on The Beast and some of the other cool coasters of the Midwest, so we're still taking suggestions.

If you wonderful guys and gals would be kind of enough to throw some suggestions our way, we'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance; we'll look forward to hearing what all of you have to say.
I'm gonna twist ya, and I'm gonna flip ya. Every time you squeal, I'm just gonna go faster and harder.

I would suggest a PKI, SFKK, and HW trip.

6 hours to get to PKI

PKI to SFKK: about 90 minutes

SFKK to HW: about 1 hour and 15 mins.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Be forewarned though, SFKK is only 55 acres where as SFGAm is about 230 some.

Also your parking pass (if you have one) is not good at SFKK as SF doesn't own the parkin lot.
What's really funny, is that you think I'm from the GP (General Public). When indeed, I most likely know far more about the coaster, as I've rode it multiple times.
^ You still get free parking there though. You just take your receipt to Guest Realtions and they give you a refund.
