X2 at SFMM to get flamethrowers.

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Very strange but I guess cool at the same time. Never thought they would do something like this.

I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Mystery Mine at Dollywood has flame throwers, it gets rather close to the (stopped) train/car.

I want a flame thrower, I have a few good uses for one :)

I still don't get why Sf invsted so much money into this ride. All it needed was new trains. But at the same time, X2 is looking cooler (or should I say hotter) by the minute.

Even with sensors I don't trust those flamethrowers in wind. But X2 is definitely looking sweet. Let's hope it can perform up to the hype.

To be able to rebrand it as a new attraction.

That's very amazing! Yes, dangerous but very neat! It will attract a lot more visitors. Now I really want to ride it!

At that speed you would not feel a thing. The fire could completely engulf the track and you could ride through it and not get hurt (actually sounds like fun).

Try this, light a candle and wave your finger through it...you will feel nothing.

X2 ride computers instantly shut off the flamethrowers should wind gusts exceed specified speeds.

It seems like they're giving it everything they got for this ride. I hope it works out for them, and I am very excited to ride it.

What I found funny about these photos is the old X trains!

http://www.screamscape.com/html/six_fla ... untain.htm

Ehhh there not going to be used anywhere else might as well just sent them through fire repeatedly and see if anything gets burnt.

Those flames look too far away. They should be a bit closer...

I like this idea. The rehab sounds like it will be pretty great. The pictures look great. Makes me want to ride this ride even more.

I think it will add some "flare" to the ride. I like them, and I hope they keep them! Overall, all the additions they have made to this ride are great! I'm liking it! :D

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

Valleying under those flames would be wonderful! Seriously though, it'll be interesting how this effect goes when it comes time for windy days, and it'll be interesting to see how close it feels to the riders! Once again, another reason why X is the one coaster i want to ride the most in this country!

^ the wind won't be a problem. there is an anemometer (wind speed measuring thing) right by the flame throwers which will tell the ops to turn the flame throwers off (if they don't do it automatically) if the wind speed is too high (I don't know this info for a fact. it's just an assumption)

X2's Flame Throwers

The little white thing above the ladder is probably the anemometer
