Opening Day, & Demon made me cry

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby DejaVuGurl1203 on April 27th, 2008, 1:02 pm
Ah yesterday was definitely not what I expected. First off, I had no clue it was going to be windy. I didn't think Raging Bull would really be closed all day. Riding Demon was horrible and it made me cry like a baby, and we were in front row. I also had no idea it was closing at 6!

We got there at 9:30. I originally wanted to go over to Batman right away, but now I had different ideas. We got in and walked, and noticed that there were no chains under the bridge. I thought, either they moved it further up, or we can go wherever we want. So yeah, it was right next to the building where you get Flash Passes. Once the park opened, they had everyone walk behind the chain and all the way into Southwest Territory. We went to Viper, and I was the first one there, but apparently there was a race through the queue so 2-3 people went ahead of me, and I was forced to run. It pissed me off. We got first dispatch in row 2. It felt slow. When the ride was over, the kid in the front was talking about how he ended the season front row on Deja Vu, and I totally recognized him. I remember asking him if he wanted to go ahead of us that night, cause we wanted the last ride. Lol.

We went by Bull and asked an employee what was up. Decided not to wait for it. We went to ride Ricochet, which was amazing to ride. Instead of going through County Fair, we went back to ride Viper again. This time we were in second to last row. On the way to Hometown Square, we noticed at one game they had new purple Batgirl capes, and I really wanted one. We wanted to ride Whizzer but that was closed. We looked around some stores for the capes, we were thinking of getting some. But I was trying to find the Batgirl one, and no one had any except the games. We went to ride BTR. It was about a 2 train wait for the back row. It felt slow, haha. Jason wanted to get right back on, which surprised me. About the same wait, again, for back row. Felt a little faster this time. We walked past V2, deciding the line was unbearably long.

The next ride was Iron Wolf. I had to be careful on this one because I recently got my left cartilage pierced, just two Fridays ago. It was a decent ride. Then, we got on Fiddler's Fling, and after a very fun ride decided to get on again. Felt just a tad sick after the second ride. We rode Revolution, and were going to ride Eagle but it seemed to be closed. We started walking, and we were stopped by one of the food stands, thinking of buying some caramel corn. I then noticed Eagle go over the hill, so we got in line. It was a 15ish minute wait. The next ride was Triple Play, which is always a good ride. Before heading out to lunch, we went to Heroes. Before we got there though, I saw Kyle and yelled his name and asked him what was up with all the ride closures. Told me 35 mph winds. Then saw Brad, and he asked us if we'd seen the inside of the building yet. He brought us over by the queue and we had a look at it. I cannot wait until it opens. After about 5 or so minutes, we went into Heroes to get a Batman cape for him, and a Supergirl cape for myself. While buying, I also decided to get the Batman mood ring. Jason wants a really cool hoodie they have there, maybe next time we can get it.

After eating an amazing lunch at Pizza Hut, we got back in and saw SUF was open, so we went straight there. Waited about 15 minutes and went in the back row. It was a fun ride, although every time I'm on this I make sure my phone doesn't fall out. Oh yeah, while waiting in line, Some kid who just got off ran out into the ride area, looking for something. After a few minutes they noticed him and tried to help him out.

After SUF, we wanted to ride Whizzer. We waited about 10 minutes and went in the back. I love this coaster, I'm glad they didn't get rid of it, and hope they never do. We then went to ride Viper, which was a walk on for row 3. Great ride. Passed up Raging Bull, and I decided that they weren't doing anything to get it open. I was a bit sad. It looked absolutely amazing too, except for that turnaround lol. Next, we went to ride Demon. Here it comes. There were some people in the station, but no one was waiting for front row, so I was like sweet, let's go in front! Well, when it came to the drop into the mouth right before the corkscrews, my head was against the headrest and leaning on the right side of the restraint, but it unusually got rammed to the left side of the restraint, hitting my cartilage. My head NEVER gets hit on the left side. I was screaming as soon as it happened, wishing we didn't have togo through the corkscrews because that extra headbanging gave me a headache. At the turnaround, I began crying because it hurt so bad. I thouight my piercing was going to start bleeding. It hurt like absolute hell. Coming into the station, it felt like everyone was looking at me, since I was crying. We went to sit down at the tables by Deja Vu until I stopped crying. I didn't want anything happening to it, and I don't want to have to take it out. I had a pounding headache from it, anbd it hurt to laugh, talk, or cough.

We went over to ride Eagle, and it was a shorter wait. 10 minutes probably. We went to the back, waited, and then as one train came back, Jason said the whole last car was closed. I said are you KIDDING me?! I ran up to wait for front row, which was only a 2-3 train wait. It was a good ride, better than earlier's. I love the front row. We then went on V2, and went in the third to last row. Walk on. I forgot how awesome this ride is. After we got off, we headed to Batman. Then it happened... "Ladies and gentleman, the time for closing has arrived." WHAT?!?!?!?! I thought this must be some mistake! I saw the lady close off Batman, and I knew it was true. I went up to them and asked if the park was really closed, and they explained to me, and she let me go on Batman. Sweet! We RAN through the queue, and there wasn't anyone in the station, they were just about to send out the last train. But we didn't make it for that one. We went to wait for front row, and waited to see if we could get on. Yay, we got on the last ride of the night in front row! I was happy about that. It was an awesome ride.

We had to run over to the pass processing center to get the parking pass and coupon books. We also stopped at the candy shop to get some. When we approached the parking lot, there were almost no cars. I was mad at myself for not checking the hours, but also thought it was dumb to close at 6. But whatever.

BTR - 3
Viper - 3
FF - 2
AER - 2
Whizzer - 1
SUF - 1
IW - 1
Triple Play - 1
Revolution - 1
Ricochet - 1
Demon - 1
V2 - 1
Total - 18 rides

It was a good day, I have pictures also. Just don't know when I'll post them.

Don't the park maps usually have the hours? Cause I looked all over for the hours just to check but they weren't on there.

I'm sorry to hear about your Demon experience, but at least you got a lot of rides in! So they didn't have the chain drop sprint or anything this year?!?! Oh, and did Superman feel different on the drop with TDK there or no?
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter :(

No sprinting, just walking behind the chain. It was annoying, lol. Must've sucked for the people who went to Bull though. I didn't really notice TDK from the top of SUF, to be honest. Gah, I want to go back now!

AWW- I was going to get last dispatch in the front row of B:TR but after securing the train, they re-released the restraints and told us sorry last ride RIGHT at 6:00pm- we were all re-riders so I guess it wasn't a big deal. You must of been the train ahead of us.
