It sucks for New England that that building frame will probably have to come down now. If they did so much preparation they should still do it once the permits come in I mean all that work for nothing? Even if it opens in July or August its better then nothing. The Dark Knight movie opens July 18th so they should strive for that. Then again, maybe they are just tired and it would cost too much money to move the frame to the proper permimeters. So disappointing. I think more parks will go after Dark Knight in 2009. Just a great ride from what I can see. Hopefully it will be worth the sure-to-be long lines.

The main six flags site now has a countdown clock and an official opening date for TDK at sfgam. The official opening date is May 17.

Does anyone else worry that this ride will be a little to "kiddy"? Mack Rides engineered it, so I went to their website to take a look at their portfolio. I found this page: http://www.mack-rides.com/lang-en/c123/default.html It'd be cool if The Dark Knight made use of this tilt technology. Probably not though, huh?

The ride in no way will be "kiddy." It is, however, marketed towards the family community. While it isn't aimed towards the thrill seekers, it will still be a great ride. It seems like they are putting a lot of effort into constucting and themeing this ride.

Where do you find a countdown on the site?

Thats weird, they got rid of it, it had been on the national sf homepage. It had countdowns for both TDK's and x2 with the tagline "The Triple Threat" on the top with the logos and countdowns on the bottom.

I have a feeling this will be more like the "Italian Job" coaster at the paramount parks. When the park released it, they made it sound like it was going to be a thrill ride. I was really excited about it, it looks intense and fun...then when I rode it, the first thing I said was "wow, what a tame ride". And because I looking forward to this ride being extreme, it ruined the ride for me. The park also said the cars were supposed to "fish tale" which I never felt.

So I hope that the elements that the park announced arent going to be a let down. Or "anticipointment"

Well that explains why they took down the earlier countdown on the main page. It had the wrong date. :P

Not suprised. Then again, I do believe it would have opened opening day if it wasn't for the insane winter we had.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

Man...how'd I see this this coming.

But I agree with rctfan, the weather did have a big effect on the construction. If it wasn't for that, Vu would have been gone for a few weeks by now.

Most new rides open in the middle of the week like that. They usually have a press days on the Monday and Tuesday when the park is not open to the public, then open it to the public on Wed. So keep an eye on all the local news shows on the 19th and 20th.

Dark Knight theming from the inside of the park. The photo was taken this morning.
I haven't seen any photos of the ride from the inside of the park so I thought I would share it.
Sorry about the quality. It was taken with a camera phone.

This is my first post so I hope I don't screw up too bad.

This was posted in the VU forum. It's got some pics of TDK. Looks like they're starting to put the track up inside.

Well a month from today TDK will be open.

It's not them getting the ride up that worries me, it's the effects that are going into it. But maybe thats saying something right there...
