While I know a few things about our entertainmen department...and who works for our entertainment department...Let me just say this.

Demon.

Rise of the Demon was Excellent, There are so many other out of the way places that could be used for small "terror Trails" as I called them with only a small amount of actors and theming, yet it was terribly frightening, not just the startle factor either.

Space Shuttle Plaza, behind basketballs in Hometown Park, Coca Cola Cool Zone Area in Southwest, Train Plaza in County Fair if it's closed again, Cartoon Cabin Docks in Yukon, Behind the games by Rapids entrance, and that awkward no-use area behind the Gotham city Arcade are just a few places I can think of that would fit a small yet terrfying attraction like that.

If the focus was on those rather then scare zones, it would totally make up for the admittadly small amount of scareacters in the streets.

I would also change the Day Parade, Make it more about entertainment and get the looney tunes involved. Save the scareacters for night parade, it works better anyway. Also to cut down on scareacter costs, you could pump a few extras in the park once it's actually dark rather then at 3 as was the norm last year.

I know it won't come back because of a combination of traffic flow and Dead Man's Party, but I really liked welcome to my nightmare, my suggestion is to get a group of Scareacters to man a trolley going thorugh the streets, I it's a great device for scaring if used properly, it could stop in HTS, and Carousel and maybe even in Orleans/Mardi Gras if they wanted to cut down on scareacters for those areas, then it gets beefed up whenever a trolley goes by.

Also Dead Man's Party was a great show...but let's face it...the sound was down too low, and it was terribly paced. Bring in two more rock numbers like No One Lives Forever and Halloween-aqua from other Six Flags Versions of the show, stick it in wilderness with the same set, and change the order a bit and you've got yourself a hit...plus it would give entertainment a chance to fix up wilderness for future years. Especially this year when we're not spending any money on new entertainment.

Also Tinsel Town...that had problems. I loved the idea, but if you're going to have scareacters in the streets again...make them scary...this years group looked like they were barely trying. Hire a real actor rather then a JPMer for Your Horror Screen Test so he can really interact with guests, and then just have the dead zombie Hollywood Golden Age Scareacters.

Also get us scarecrows. Halloween and the Harvest go hand in hand, get some hay, and some dried cocrn and go to town, if done right Scarecrows can be great!

I know that it's probably not going to happen this year...but we need a train show. In-House with better prep then hold-up. I would actually really like Scooby to come back, but only if it was done in-house rather then JPM.

STOP ADDING UNNCECESSARY CHARACTERS TO LAFF! I have nothing against morgan, but Zombina Ruins "Beast in Me" It's the most awkward dance I've ever seen on stage. Also I understand that Carrie and Sarah are twins, which means there's never going to be an opportunity for Witchie/Nancy again, but what does she really add to the show? I feel like the two witches makes it more about them, and less about Jack and Katie.

ADVERTISE! Dan's been doing Mayor Slayer for Forever, if he's not going to quit anytime soon, let's take advantage of it and turn him into the face of Fright Fest, on the level with HHN's Icons. Mayor Slayer should be as well known as Jack, Eddie, The Caretaker, the Director, and the Storyteller.

I'm actually sitting in the lighting booth at a concert right now, so i'm not exactly in creative mode, I'm sure i'll think of a million more things in the next few days.

As for being realistic, here's my best idea....Fly to NYC, go to the corporate offices, pound Fright Fest's Attendnace numbers in the Boards face, then say we need more money so we can continue to capitalize on the continually growing Halloween season.
Why do we fall, Master Bruce?
So we can learn to pick ourselves up.

- If its not to cold to operate, use Roaring Rapids again!!!!!!!!!!! And the other 2 water rides if possible.
- Try to use Hurricane Harbor somehow for Fright Fest.
- Maybe Funhouse Express 3D for the Pictorium instead of Haunted Castle.
- Improve LAFF (I didn't get the Starburst thing at all, can someone explain it to me.)
- Maybe have a graveyard thing like at CP in Hurricane Bay.
- Have some stuff for kids like Mask Making, Costume Contests, etc. like at CP

I'm just trying to think of ways to Reduce the size of crowds in 07. The water rides combined will probably take at least 3600 (LR + YC = 3,000 + RR = est.3,600) People out of the Midways.

Witchie used it to wake the others up and she thought they all liked starbursts. :|

Make sure you have great haunted houses. I'm not sure what's been done since 2 seasons ago but can we get some more original haunted houses like the Ogre one that was there in 2005? Also, if you can, please bring back the pig guy on the train(what was his name?). I really don't like that Scooby Doo thing they have going. :? I really liked Fright Fest 05'. Probably the best one ever!

Also, do they still do the alien takeover in Hometown Square? :)

If this has already been done, please let me know cause I haven't been in like 2 seasons due to financial issues.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

I have been disappointed that roaring rapids has been closed these last few years. Even if it's too cold for a water ride. It's cool to walk by and see the red water.

I was also kind of disappointed with Tinsel Town. I thought I was going to see the likes of movie stars walking around. It's an awesome idea, but it needs more scare.

The show at hometown having people participate in laying in bugs for a season pass was awesome. Takes a lot for anyone to do that, but it was interesting to watch and it had a huge turn out.

The more decorations, the better. I think the front entrance, carousel and front pond area looks better every year.

The Mayor is the best character to see every year! He looks awesome and fits the part so well. The vampires and werewolves are great too.
Also, add more clowns! clowns are wicked and they scare the hell out of people. But they look real cool. Not happy smiling clowns, the wicked looking clowns from outer space look. There were a few last year, but I would love to see more.

Even if the shuttle is closed for the year, open it for fright fest if it is still operational. The space shuttle is dead during the year, but gets a great turn out for fright fest. I know I always stop in there at fright fest.

I always see the shows every year and sometimes twice. I seen love at first fright 3 times last year and I never get sick of it. I see it every year and think it's great. The twins are great. I love how they add new funny lines or fresh lines to to the show.
The dead mans party needs to add a little something. It is a very good show, but seems like it was a b movie compared to love at first fright. Maybe they dont want to put too much production into it. But it seems like it was missing something. For one, the volume was too low. The vocals were at times hard to hear. Bring the volume up and add more lights. The lights were low and dark. Also add more smoke.
Also add some effects to the vocals. It seemed that the vocals were too clear and flat.

I know its more money, but bring more bands on. Always keep manny b on their own stage. They are a great fit for the event. But I noticed they got rid of the bands. I know there are many chicago land bands that would play for free to get known. Have a battle of the bands!

Have more areas for frightfest pictures. Instead of just pictures at the front of the park. set some stand up stations with halloween oriented backgrounds and take pictures that can be printed right there or take them to the front.

Bring back hot chocolate to the candy shop! They only have coffee these past few years. The hot chocolate was nice to have on the cold mornings.

Record a dvd version of Love at first fright and sell it at the shows. I think it would be a great seller. I would buy it. But I guess if a dvd is always available to watch at home, it may lower attendance at the shows.

Thanks for all of the responses!

From what I've read so far, some of you really have dissected FF 2007 and really know what you want for FF 08.

I really do like some of the ideas you guys have shared and a lot of them I've already thought about myself.

So far what I will try for is
-THE BOO LINE EXPRESS : I really liked this too and I'm glad someone (a lot of you) agreed with me wanting it back

-A haunted house by where dvu was : this is also another great idea. With all of that open space, it'd be a really good idea.

-Trying to get Blood River back in operation : While I do want to see it actually run again, I dont think it will happen. I guess water rides cannot operate legally passed a certain date and that's why we cant ride it. however, putting water and such back in it would be great!

- WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE : I really liked it, too. Want to see this one back as well!

- DEAD MANS PARTY : I think this was the best idea yet, I didnt even think of it! With Theater Royale gone, moving this to Wilderness Theater would be awesome! The only problem is that that are is part of Necropolis, so something with the midway would need to be worked out.

Heres what I can't do

- Hurricane Harbor FF : sorry guys, this will never happen and i really dont want it to either. HH is so huge and wide open that it would be hard to get the theme of halloween there. Its also carribean themed making it hard to get the theming done right.

Thanks again and keep the ideas coming!!!!!!

Where did you hear that? That is not true at all. The reason it doesnt operate is because 99% of the time, the weather is too cold for any sane person to want to ride it. Do you really think the state of Illinois has nothing better to do than pass legislation over what day water rides must be closed by?

^True, it is usually too cold for it. Now, i never said i was 100% for certain that its that way, but it has to be because until, oh, HALLOWEEN last year, it was in the 80's and people were dying to have that ride open for a good portion of Fright Fest.

^ That day when it was 80 was a fluke. Roaring Rapids did not open because the park had made the decision to close it for the year based on the weather one would expect in October. Once a ride is closed for the year, its done. It's not as easy as flipping a switch and starting it.

Is there a reason that Sky Trek Tower doesn't operate during FF? I think it'd be neat to ride it and see the park at that time of year...

^It's because of Lary (the giant gorilla a top sky trek). I know that he is up there and rests upon the cabin and if i'm not mistaken, he is also bolted to it so the cabin cannot operate. Its also because of the big search lights on the ground that shine up there that are blinding to the human eye. Its just basically all of the effects used for night time as if lary's taking over the cabin like the smoke, cardboard cutouts in the cabin, the search lights, its just a giant prop.

If you want to see the park, just ride a tall coaster or Giant Drop does really good at seing the park (if youre in car 1 or 6)

Speaking of Fright Fest, when are they going to take down the Christmas Tree lights on top of the SkyTrek?
I know the season is getting closer when Larry and the spiders ( I know that's Larry's wife and kids, but I forgot their names.)come down, and the season is finally here when the Christmas tree thing comes down. I mark my countdown between closing and opening by those props.
I've nearly wrecked staring longingly at Hurricane Harbor/Skull Island as I am going down I-94 on those dark cold December mornings!
So what I would really like for Fright Fest is that every SFGA customer be flown to Key West from Oct. 31st until April 24th. I know it's a tall order, but you gotta dream big, and being a bit stupid like me helps too.

Larry is not attached to the cabin in any way. The cabin can operate just fine, infact, the cabin comes down almost (if not) every morning before the park opens.

Oh, okay. Thanks. I was never sure, it just always looked like he was bolted.

Even still, sky trek wont operate for FF because of the other reasons i said and it just being a giant prop.

As far as what's been said, Boo Line most probably won't come back this year, I beleive the park is planning on it having limited operation this year anyway. Blood River the same thing, it wasn't ever that popular, no matter what you all claim to remember, so I would rather that the staff was used elsewhere, places where more people want to ride.

Hurricane Harbor could be great for Fright Fest...but not the park. My idea for hurricane harbor is to use the entrance path. There is a little backstage path that connects the entrance path with the shuttle plaza, using the entrance path as a necropolis level scare zone could be a great idea, that way you could still use this convenient piece of land, without actually going into the details of how to keep people off slide towers, out of buildings etc... You could also use the Pink Flamingo building for a house as it is probably cleared out by that time for the year.

Welcome to my nightmare was an amazing show, and my favorite part of fright fest 2006, but it blocked traffic. and it's songs have now been implemented into Dead Man's Party. Dead Man's Party was actually supposed to be in the Wilderness theater last year, the reason it wasn't is because that theater cannot handle a show of that size in it's current rotting state, and the park simply didn't have the time/money to change that. So I don't think the park is worried about the location at all. and It would work perfectly, it just needs some help with pacing. I know the first half of the show lost some people, who walked out before the amazing second half of the show, and for god's sake, get the volume up! (I thought the lighting for this show was top-notch by the way, not sure what the other guy was talking about).

As for the light at dead man's party......it was poor. I could hardly see the characters. Found a video showing what I mean.

I was looking ahead at the opening times for fright, and it said that the park wasn't opening until 1:00. While this is probably just a way to cut costs, I was still disapointed when I saw it. I liked to go on all the rides in the morning, and then did all the other things at night.
