Decrease the prices? Not gonna happen! I'm with you on the subject and I want them to lower their prices, in fact, I think way too many things and resources in our nation are overpriced. Sadly, I know not how much of that will come about. :x
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.

Agree with you on the prices not gonna happen with everything costing too much nowadays including gas, food, labor, taxes GA will have to find ways to pay for all the stuff they need to use for the park we might even see an increase in the future. Ride wise were OK GA got more rides than Universal nor any Disney park for every type of ages. If they are gonna add one y not something new that no other park have even if its not a record breaker or just a small addittion to the park. Add more concerts or events from popular artist included with admission appealing not just to teens and kids but for grownups too that could draw in more guests especially if their big fans of the artist that they might have in the park.

^That kind of is what's happening. Small additions that appeal to the entire family. Not the record breaker part, but we already know that.

OK I think I should explain my reasoning for My Previous List of 80+ Ideas so you guys will see why I chose them.

Carousel Plaza
- Add an S&S 40 Passenger Screaming Swings to Where SSA is
This would allow a Major New Attraction in the front of the park like Silver Bullet at Knott's Berry Farm and add about 800 rph and a signiture attraction to an otherwise Ignored area of the park.

- Add an Indoor Theater to Carousel Plaza to make up for loosing Theater Royale
I always feel that any park should have many shows. Also my dad is a big show fan and I don't know how he's going to feel about this. However I now feel that this idea wouldn't be possible.

- Replace Sky Trek Towers Cabin with a new Intamin Super Gyro Cabin
Plain and simple. Larger Capacity but it weighs less, however I'm not sure it would work.

- Make the Entrance to Hurricane Harbor In this area instead of Southwest Territory
If this is an impossible idea, explain it to me in full detail.

Hometown Square
- Replace the spiral lift of Whizzer with a New Spiral Lift with LIM motors by Intamin
With Shapiro wanting to cut costs this would be good as the motors are expensive and replacing them would drop costs drastically yet keeping the ride.

- Turn the Pictorium into a 3D/4D Simulator
I have been saying this for a few years and with IMAX equipment getting expensive and SSA leaving, this can only help.

- Enclose Triple Play with a Disco Theme and Music
OK this was probably a Dumb idea however, the public might think it's a new ride and give the park a good Rainy Day Ride

- Either add CCN Rides to Hometown Park or add a Thrill Ride
With Hometown Park just sitting empty, what would they have to do, remove a garden.

Southwest Territory
- Add a Sally Interactive Dark Ride with an Old West Theme to where Trailblazer was
With Trailblazer gone, all they have to do is remove the arcade next to the park and maybe dig a little below ground. Maybe even theme the ride to ACME or Wile E Coyote

- Add an Arcade next to Chubasco
To make up for the Loss of the Arcade with the Dark Ride being added.

- Maybe replace the Trains on Viper with PTC’s new Single Bench seating
I don't mean the trains like Little Dipper at Kiddieland, so thats my fault. What I meant were the new type of trains that they were going to put on Ravine Flyer 2 at Waldameer that was similar to GCI Millennium Flyer Trains.

- Remove Some of the Brakes on Raging Bull (Maybe add music on the ride like Hollywood Dream)
OK wise guy who said to Play the theme from Wild, Wild, Wild, West. What I was thinking of was a number of Country Music Hits to make the ride even better.

- Always have Music on Chubasco
I like the music during Fright Fest and I think this could be a way to increase interest.

- Either Make Giant Drop a Gyro Drop or give it Stand Up seats like Acrophobia at SFOG
If it becomes a Gyro Drop, then the Capacity can increase from 24 riders to 40 Passengers like Drop Zone at Kings Dominion and stand-up seats would make a quick, cheap way to advertise it as a new ride.

- Fill the Lake at River Rocker
If the Lake leaks then use puddy. I have a Travel Channel Schlitterbahn special on Video that they say they use A+B or something like that which hardens when it touches water.

County Fair
- Replace Dare Devil Dive with an S&S Sky Sling
Look it up at Screamscape here http://www.screamscape.com/features/htm ... _power.htm and the best part in my opinion was "It allows for a cheaper ticket cost while still being able to pull in more profits than your typical skycoaster" and plus DDD is very similar to Giant Drop while as a Sky Sling is a new experience to the park.

- Replace the Trains on Demon with new Lap Bar Trains
My mom is a little shorter than I am and as a result, she doesn't ride it anymore because of the head banging. Plus Remember Mr. Freeze, Joker's Jinx, and alot of others have lap bars and Inversions.

- Add Intamin Trains to American Eagle
I just find the ride rough and also if they could increase the banking of the helix to around 40 or so degrees. I think it will have less maintenance yearly and reduce roughness as well.

- Repaint Iron Wolf to Something like Riddler’s Revenge at Magic Mountain
With the ride looking really old and Deja Vu being removed, kill 2 birds with one stone.

- Add new B&M trains to Iron Wolf
Did you ever notice that the trains On Iron Wolf are different than Chang at Kentucky Kingdom plus the ride was build by B&M and the ride is ROUGH!!!!

- Have Great America Raceway run on Electricity
Less Gas costs, less fumes, Renewable energy, you do the math.

- Replace Déjà Vu with Some Major New European Thrill Ride or A Zamperla MotoCoaster
At least temporarily as we're still waiting for a replacement for Trailblazer that closed in 06

- Replace Splash Water Falls with A Splash Blaster Ride like River Battle at Dolly Wood
You have a Lake, its a family ride, its interactive, and its a water ride.

Yukon Territory
- Move the Kids Rides to Bugs Bunny National Park or Hometown Park
I just think that Camp Cartoon is a waste of land and with 2 other kids areas, they could get a better use of that land.

- Remove Wilderness Theater and add a B&M Floorless Coaster called “Coyote Or Wolverine”
Typo! I meant calling it "Coyote" OR "Wolverine" and would add a major new attraction to the area.

Yankee Harbor
- Rename Whirligig to “Raging Seas”
It would just add Nautical theming to Yankee Harbor

- Rename East River Crawler to “Black Squid”
See Above ^

- Rename V2 to “Hammerhead”
See Above ^

- Repaint Hammerhead like Goliath At Fiesta Texas
Why have 3 Major Yellow Coasters within walking distance of each other?

- Repaint Batman like Batman at Six Flags New England
See Above ^

- Give East River Crawler a huge rehab and facelift
My friend Ken says he doesn't like this ride because of the rust last time he rode it was before 05 but now I stand corrected.

- Add a New Lighthouse or Enclose V2’s Line with It
It would just add a little more theming to the park and give the Queue line some shade.

- Try to Quiet Down V2’s LIM’s or Six Flags could be involved in a Deaf Lawsuit
The LIM's are really loud when you're at the front of the ride and LIM's on California Screamin is quiet according to a video I saw called "Coasters of the West"

Mardi Gras
- With Dark Knight, Remove Ragin Cajun and add a Fahrenheit Like Coaster around Roaring Rapids and Picnic Grove called “Zephyr”
If this coaster is still around in 5 years, I give up.

- Remove King Chaos or make it flip 7x Minimum and Splash Water
That ride is boring!!! I would like to see it scrapped and replaced with a Huss Suspended Top Spin like Riptide at Knott's and Valleyfair that spins around 13 times and gets you wet and most of all is QUIET as opposed to the squeak that King Chaos is known for.

- Rename Roaring Rapids to “Jester’s Whitewater Adventure”
Increase the Mardi Gras Theming in the Area

Orleans Place
- Can we have Dark Knight use 8-10 cars like other models
Since the ride will only probably use around 6 cars like it said at NCC (Correct me if I'm wrong) the line will be around as long as Ragin Cajun

- If Possible Give Superman Duel Loading Stations like at SFOG
Make the Capacity better. Plain and Simple

- Add a Tunnel to Superman
How is this impossible? The straightaway just before The Helix would be a good area to do it.

Hurricane Harbor
- Add a Deluge like Waterslide behind Pink Flamingo Café called “Tony Hawk’s Typhoon”
Since Shapiro loves Tony Hawk and the park currently has no Tony Hawk Ride and Hurricane Harbor needing a New Star Attraction. You do the math.

All Around
- Try and make the park run on Renewable Energy (Energy Efficient Light bulbs would work)
If you dont think this is a good idea in Saving Money, Please Explain it in full detail.

- Give Southwest Territory Amphitheater a Stand Up Show
If the theater is only going to be used on Sundays on A Stand Up show being very easy to produce and CHEAP would make this a pretty good idea.

- Lower the Admission to 48 Dollars
Many people now cant go to Great America because admission is so high and if they lowered the price, they would encourage more people to visit and increase attendance.

- Lower Parking to 8 Dollars
Maybe this is to much but how about 10 Dollars. Shapiro you have to pick, Either Attract Cash Strapped Families or Block Teenagers.

- Offer a Late Gate Admission
This Could work as pretty much all Cedar Fair parks do this.

- Add an Intamin Coaster Wheel
Imagine a Ride the size and style of the Wonder Wheel at Coney Island to replace the void of Sky Whirl.

- Have a Fright Fest day for Season Pass Holders Only
The park is 50x more crowded during Fright Fest than In July especially in 07 with the loss of Train, River Rapids, and I think a few Others.

- Somewhere add a Music Express/ Himalaya Ride
This could go in County Fair if it has A Rock N Roll theme.

- Move the Road by 20 or so feet and expand the Picnic Grove
Move the rode away from the park and expand the picnic grove.

- Replace all Blacktop in the Park with Concrete
This will increase guest comfort and will last longer.

- Offer Karaoke or a DJ in the Queue Lines
My friend Ken said that CP did this in 02 and this would be cool in the queue lines.

- Extend Hurricane Harbors hours to 8pm
Cedar Point's Soak City can stay open till 9pm and if Lights are the problem, then add them

- If a ride is going to be removed, announce that it will be in May/ June
To those of you who said this is a bad idea must think that Closing Geauga Lake all the sudden was done Perfectly.

- Offer a time in May where if you donate food/ toy/ clothing you get free admission
Its a good idea and the park donates all the stuff to Charity, gets more guests, gets more money, gets a tax deduction, and looks good in the public eye.

- Offer a laser show in June and August
It would cost less and lower compliants from the annoying Village Of Gurnee locals that complain 25/7.

- Lower the Capacity for Fright Fest by like 3,000 At Least
See the Season Passholder Fright Fest thing above ^.

- Offer Single Rider Lines
Disney does this and Would always send out full trains as opposed to like 1 person in a row On Raging Bull.

- Make the lockers free for the first hour and a dollar for every additional hour like Six Flags America did
I think the lockers should be a dollar and a 1 Dollar Deposit.

- Lower Food Prices
They are insane to the point where I didn't eat in the park in 07.

- Add More Old Commercials on Youtube.com
I like watching old commercials. My favorites are their 1982, 1985, and 1993.

- Offer a BMX/ Motor show like Xcelleration at Fiesta Texas
I remember Fiesta Texas had this show when they also had Tony Hawks Huck Jam thing.

- Do Online Surveys for new ideas and additions (Paramount and Herschend did/ do this)
That way they know what would be good and what Wouldn't.

- If its warm enough, Open Hurricane Harbor and the Water Rides for Fright Fest
Just to aleviate the lines for the park during Fright Fest and anyone remember "Blood River".

- Buy or Build a Hotel near the Park
I'm thinking like Disney where They keep people on their property and spending their money toward Six Flags.

- Increase Theme Park Capacity by like 4,000 People due to Huge Fright Fest Crowds
Look at the Fright Fest posts above ^

- Have A Parking Garage for Employees
The Employee Parking lot looks small for a park this Size and a Parking Garage would increase Capacity in the compact space.

- Have a Separate Lane at the Entrance for Season Pass Holders Only
I just think this would be easy, at least for me.

- Put together a 1:30 hour documentary of the park and its past and sell it on DVD for 15 Dollars (Look to Kennywood Memories for an Example)
Oh this idea is So bad, NOT. Explain Theme Park Review DVD's, explain the Disneyland DVD's and I would buy it and with 6,000+ ACE Members and maybe 2,000+ Theme Park Review Members would make this really easy and a way to make a quick buck. Wait, Didn't Six Flags do a Book of all their rides at their parks earlier this year?

- Keep Up to date on new Coaster additions
We have added 2 Wild Mouse Coasters in a row and I don't get why this was done and I would want more Quality.

- Maybe Offer a Blog
Apparently they already do.

I'm Done.

it's stand up cause there are no seats, uses restraints almost identical to Iron Wolf just with no floor. It's not as uncomfortable as it sounds, but it's not exactly pleasant either.

^ really?

these look like seats to me (not trying to be a smart ass) well the one on the left maybe not so much but the one on the right is definitely a seat (once again I'm not trying to be a smart ass)

anyways back on topic

i think they should put in an intamin panoramic flight simulator where trailblazer was and move the arcade like coasterboy said

I was thinking it could be called "Southwestern sky tour" or "flight over the southwest" or something (i couldn't think of anything very good)
an example is Soarin' at Epcot (I'm not sure if its the intamin flight simulator but it is similar)

thoughts?

Well, I've ridden it...the "seats", are just like Iron Wolf's. You're tilted slightly, so it may look like you are sitting. I don't know why those two seats look different, but you don't sit down.

Soarin could probably cost a good 80 Million or so dollars. A Sally Interactive Dark Ride like Reese's at Hersheypark costs around 8-10 million. However a Film like that in the Pictorium would be a good idea.

the one where you do basically sit down on the right was a limited time test seat. Test seats appear frequently on Acrophobia. The original ones were exactly like Iron Wolf, but now they have a small lip at the bottom of the seat for your ass to rest on, takes some pressure off your crotch (Femoral Artery). Back in 2004 when I last rode it half the seats were the newer style with the lip and half were the old style and there was a huge difference, though also the newer ones had a slightly wider saddle.

I would love to see Vertical Velocity getting painted to Purple and Pink like at SFDK, looks very nice... Paint Iron Wolf to Silver, Dark Blue and Charcole... Repaint Batman to Black, Gray and Orange.... Paint Flames on demon supports. Paint Whizzer to Green and Red.
Six Flags Ameirca as the number 1 park at SFI.... this is JOKE!

Hey coasterboy, I read your enormous post. Thats huge. Here's some of my thoughts:

- Try and make the park run on Renewable Energy (Energy Efficient Light bulbs would work)
If you dont think this is a good idea in Saving Money, Please Explain it in full detail.

First of all, it would be next to impossible to make the park run on renewable energy, unless you want about 100 windmills inside the park. If you are just talking energy efficient lightbulbs I would be willing to bet that a majority of the parks lights aren't offered with energy efficient bulbs yet.

- Add Intamin Trains to American Eagle
I just find the ride rough and also if they could increase the banking of the helix to around 40 or so degrees. I think it will have less maintenance yearly and reduce roughness as well.

I realize this is a "what would you do" thread, but honestly to increase the banking of a ride that magnitude would really warrent just tearing it down and starting from scratch.

1. The city would have to approve of that and taxpayers dollars would go to move the street, I don't see Gurnee allowing that to happen.

2. This is a tough call for me, while I do believe that concrete would increase guest comfort because the blacktop gets so hot, I also think that concrete gets much dirtier in the summer and can look really disgusting with all the gum on there.

3.Great idea, I've wanted that for years. If Six Flags isn't going to give ANY theming in their queues they might as well give something decent to listen to.

Offer Single Rider Lines
Disney does this and Would always send out full trains as opposed to like 1 person in a row On Raging Bull.

Great idea here, I know just about everyone on this board would take advantage of that offer, and it wouldn't be a very difficult thing for the park to make.

See Above ^

I think thats a great idea, it would give that section of the park a distinct theme, instead of being called "the batman area" it could actually be called "the sea area" again. I also really liked the idea of housing V2's line in a lighthouse. :)

Lastly, I know this is what you would do with the park if you owned it, but a lot of your requests just aren't reasonable, especially the ones about adding so many newer, high thrill rides. By just adding huge rides I think it would only turn us into Magic Mountain cerca 2002.

I think the overall theming of parks and quality of employees (no offense to anyone reading) is what kills the Six Flags/Cedar Fair brand over others. When people go to a park they want to look around and just be amazed by what they see, and with two giant queue houses without any type of theme Six Flags isn't helping them do that. And even if your new roller coaster totally pwns, a customer will still remember the snotty guy working in foods who didn't smile or even look him in the eye throughout the transaction.

I went to Dollywood today, and let me just say that while the park has about 4 good rides in the entire park, I still had an excellent time because the park was beautifully designed and well kept (though it was opening week), and all of their employees were more mature, delivering respect to the customer by being cheery and helpful to all questions asked. The standards at Dollywood are higher because everything in that park (food, rides, shows, service) is outstanding, and I think if Six Flags tried going above and beyond *especially in the parks where they face competition* then they'd see an even higher turnaround of guest satisfaction.

Hometown Square: Get rid of Whizzer and Hometown Fun Machine to build a deent sized roller coaster.

Camp Cartoon/BBNP: combine the two and put wilderness theater to use, or build a coaster in its place.

Yankee Harbor: Rename to Gotham City.

I think they should take out Giant Drop and take it to another park that needs one. Then they should put in a three tower S&S Turbo/Spacesot Complex in the old footprint of Splashwater Falls. And put a Perilous Plunge in the foot of that wasted watershow joke and the giant drop area. Take out Put a dive coaster in the old Space shuttle area.

I really think something like Maverick would fit in the Vu SWF section. It would mainly go in SWF but it would go by American Eagle and stuff. There is a lot of vacant space and a coaster will probably be built there. ( b and m dive....lets me hope)
