I'm sure the dry park will have flats, and they will probably run like utter crap, just like current Busch flat rides.

Is Dubai an economically feasible area for this? I would think that they'd put something like this in North America or Europe.

Dubai is one of the if not the richest country in the world (pretty sure it's #1). The entire country is basically being transformed into a resort. You should look it up, they are doing some neat stuff, especially the the palm islands.

I also wonder how this resort and the building of the Universal resort will do financially. No doubt you have alot of rich people in the arab world, but they are a distinct minority in arab countries where the kingdoms are run as dictatorships and the aveage peasant is dirt poor even with all of the oil money that flows into countries like Saudia Arabia.

You need more than just rich sheiks to get to 5 million attendance, you need major tourism to get to thos numbers and all you need is one terrorist attack to scare away people and im sure ssome group will try to make a splash by trying to killing the tourists.

it will also have the worlds tallest building in the world in a few years

the buildings surrounding the burj dubai in this picture are not part of the city of dubai but are some of the tallest buildings in the world. this picture shows how tall it is. it dwarfs every other building in the picture

yep, that's the stuff.

I think on some TV show they said that basically Dubai wants to become the equivalent of a mega resort for the entire western world. Sorta a place where rich people from Europe can go for a weekend or richer american businessmen can go to blow all their $$.

Yes, it is a very rich city, that is certain.

But that doesnt mean it will have the ability to support all of the resorts that are planned or have the population base to do so.
The city will have numerous other ways that guests can spend there money other than visiting theme parks. But with both Universal/Busch planing parks and maybe others on the way, it will be very competitive in the entertainment business

And once all of the business's are up and running, it will become even more of a possible terrorist target than it already is, especially when they can targey ICONS of American industry.

Just hearing the name doesn't sound like a rich city. But, I guess you can't judge much by the name.

There is a pic of the current state of the palm islands, they are man made and they have like 3-4 other ones planned, and another currently under construction which will end up being the World (will like like planet earth when viewed from above)

/\ those were on the discovery channel a while back

here is what they will look like when they are done

Image

and considering the fact that most (possibly even all) of the buildings surrounding the palm will be hotels, it looks like busch gardens will have plenty of visitors

there will also be houses on the palm

actually the 4 new parks are supposed to fit in there, somewhere on the outer circle, perhaps at the crown says Screamscape.
