Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

The L.A. Times confirms that Magic Mountain will be getting a new coaster for 2009. What could it be? http://travel.latimes.com/daily-deal-blog/?p=1403

Most likely a wild mouse of some sort or maybe something like Tony Hawk. It would be cool if the got a Motocoaster like Knott's is getting.

What I would want is:

A Troy like Coaster over where Psyclone Was along with a retheme of that area. Youtube it, its a cool coaster.

What they will probably get is:

A family Mack Built coaster like Pegasus at Europa where Flashback was

However I wish they would add:

A Sally Interactive Dark Ride where Flashback was
An S&S 40 Passenger Screaming Swings where Psyclone was

I can't believe that the park is getting Thomas Town and Wiggles World.

CoasterBoy,

You wish every park had an S&S Swing

Early reports is that SFMMs new ride is NOT going to be a Tony Hawk or a Batman Dark Knight.

Evil Kenevil Clone anyone?

I don't mean to be whiny.... but I WANT A COASTER HERE TOO FOR 09! Why cant we know our plans for 2009? Why is it all Magic Mountain?! Why?Why?! Why?! We here, with other six flags parks feel left out! Such a spoiled park! Haha. Well, on MM's side, they do deserve to be spoiled and get a makeover, because the park had been destroyed those past times, and we don't REALLY need anotehr rollercoaster, but it would be nice to have something new to fill that empty spot in our hearts.... but WE SHOULD STILL KNOW WHATS GOING ON PLEASE! :D

Evil Kenevil would be nice. I've actually never been on an S&Sswing before.

^The ride cycles are pretty short, but they are a lot of fun. Skyhawk at CP was the first one I ever rode.

I could see it being an Evil Knevil clone. They got rid of one woodie, so why not replace it with another?

Skyhawk was down when I went. Then the weather got bad and we saw a tornado about a half mile back from the Sandusky Mall that same day.

I think it's going to be an Evel Knievel clone as well. Six Flags likes to build clones and Evel Knievel has a small enough layout to fit where Psyclone was. Evel Knievel also has the 48 inch height requirement that was mentioned in the article.

I don't think it's going to be an E.K. clone.. Since when has MM gotten a cloned coaster, Deja?! and right now it's the only one standing/operating. I do think there is going to be wood involved but not a clone.

Could just be me, but I find S&S Screamin Swings (of any seating capacity) to be the absolute most boring rides I"ve ridden. 0 axis of spin (well technically 1) just doesnt sit well with me.

I don't think SFMM needs another coaster. Take that money and buy some really nice flat rides. They don't have many very exciting bigger flats.
Waiting to fill this space with something stupid to say!

When was the last time Magic Mountain made a clone, Deja Vu? Six Flags seemingly loves to give them free reign on what to build.

I thought he said that SFMM 2009 will be a totally new coaster. Like not a clone of anthing.
Six Flags Ameirca as the number 1 park at SFI.... this is JOKE!

I think SFMM is down to literally like 3-4 flats. (not counting kids rides)

They need to talk to the folks at Mondial, KMG, Mack and to a lesser extent the italians.

Evel Kneval is a very near clone of Thunderbird at Power Park, those who have ridden both Thunderbird and Troy say Thunderbird is better by far.

Troy looks like a great ride, but I don't know if it appeals to families like the article said the coaster would do.

If Thunderbird was better, then why was:

Troy: Number 4
Thunderbird: Number 10
