Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Typically I've found the easiest things to identify are hot dogs, they come out in their bite size pieces just as they went in.

I am just wondering about how many days SFGAm lets you take off. Because I have about 2-3 weeks of trips for this summer and I was wondering if they would let me take all those days off if I was there fulltime.

If they do, I might apply.

When you apply they specifically ask you for any days you need off. If you know your dates already usually it is not a problem. But once you turn in your contract you CANNOT add days off later. But because you do have those days off, people that don't have any days off typically will be given priority. But if you can work Spring and Fall as well, that'll pretty much guarantee you a position.

You actually can add days off later if you work in a department other then maintenance. You just have to find people to take your shifts for you.

Just so you know, if you don't hear back from them fairly soon, be proactive and call them. That makes sure that everything is in order and you can be setup for a interview.

I applied there, but they told me that they would call me and they never did, so I got a job elsewhere. Then two months later, they decide to call and say that I was supposed to call them. :? Anyways, I am applying at WDW for their engineering internship, I know its hard to get in, but I'm hoping the connections we have help in their decision.

When I finished the application it gave me a number to call. I called and now i'm going to the job fair on the 23rd. Can anyone tell me how the training works for ride ops (they actually said i'll be working in something called operation 15 untill I turn 16 in mid april when I can transfer to rides.)

The 15 year olds in rides just do grouping and cleaning. The only rides I can think of that still usually get 15 year olds are Ragin' Cajun and Viper. All the other coasters either don't really need a grouper, or are grouped (although very ineffectively) by the Flash Pass person.

As for rides training, the first part is just general policies (ie. What is an adult?, What is a restricted area?, What does it mean if a ride is locked out?, etc.) Then, after general training, you get trained for individual rides. That consists of reading the manual, observing the ride being run, running the ride yourself while being observed, and then taking a test.

While I can't tell you exactly as I have never had to take the test, I believe the exams are very similar to visual board training. Multiple Choice with pretty high rate required to pass.

Though I'm not sure if they have as many corny joke questions that were on the Gemini and Mean Streak VB's....

^Um, i would delete your pay comment.... RIGHT NOW.

And, i just had my over-the-phone pre interview to be in entertainment. It sounds like it will be fun from friends who work there and seems very professional.

I don't want to work there anymore....

I just realized that..
-the pay is VERY low
-horrible hours (like over time after closing)
-if you are new, they treat you like crap
-if you are new you get blamed for everything
-you get yelled at a lot by all the levels of managment for making mistakes
-you get too attached to the park

Now, I have never worked there so I guess "I dont know what Im talking about" but I have had many friends work there who tell me all negative things about it.

So instead, I am working at a pool and getting $11/hour and I will be 10 mins from the park. I just dont think it is worth it.

^True but there are so many people working there that it would be a hassle. Its like "Office Space" where the guy has 7 different "bosses" telling him what to do. I would rather work somewhere with less people so if I make a mistake its not a big hassle.

Also $7! That ** For all the crap you have to go through you only get 7/hour! Six Flags needs to treat there employees better and pay them A LOT more. I could see $7 for part timer workers under 18, but for everyone? That makes them complete cheap **.

That work place is just not for me.

^If you want to work there, apply online. But, do it FAST AND NOW. You already missed the job fair last week so it may be a bit more difficult, but if you really want to, you still can. Just fill out the application and then wait. Took me aroun three days for a call.
