I thought I heard Great Adventure was building an on-site hotel next year.

They were going to build a 500-700 room hotel in 2007 I think, but Shapiro cancelled it saying "Six Flags wasn't ready for that committment."

Which was odd because:

Darien Lake had a hotel, campground, and I think an RV Park
Great Escape has a hotel with indoor waterpark (Sold out nights the entire first month and room rates around $200 a night)
Worlds Of Adventure had a hotel and a campground

One thing about hotels is that Opryland's Hotel when Opryland was open had an upper 80% and over 2,000 rooms

When there was no Opryland, they dropped into the lower 40%

Don't worry, that is the chain, not the park. Also, if the chain does go under, there are companies that would quickly jump right in and buy SFGAm as it is among the top, if not the top park in the chain.

I don't like the idea but it is better than closing it all down. :?
