Okay, so we are going on a class field trip to LAS VEGAS for a weekend for my architecture project (which is to design a 2 million sq. ft. Vegas Hotel) and i've never been further west of field of dreams so i need anyone's advice....

what rides are there and how much?! Are they worth it?!
where can someone under 21 go/do?!
what good shows are out there?!

we are staying at the stratosphere, how close are cheap resteraunts to there?

Anyone who has been to Vegas and could give me any sort of advice or information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!!!! :D

Well, Speed is my favorite ride there. It was $20 all day I believe and $7.50 for one ride. Circus Circus has the Adventure Dome, which is not that badly priced for an all day pass. Manhattan Express is $10 for one ride I think and is alright, though I haven't ridden the new trains. The Stratosphere has some great rides, the shot tower is amazing and the teeter totter ride was good (forgot the name). We were there before the installation of Insanity, so I don't know about that. Those prices come in bundles depending on what you want.

Under 21 things, go to Gameworks or Coke World and get bottle Cokes for $.75. You can eat at the buffets, and look around the casinos, but be sure to stay on the different colored carpets that look like paths unless your going to a restaurant. Security can escort you out if you go off the "path" and stand around. The New York New York has a nice arcade. You can spend some time riding the monorail, though I believe it costs money. You have to see the dancing fountains at the Bellagio. Lastly, you can try to collect 'em all, well that is the stripper cards the people hand out on the street. I think that the girls still have clothes on, but I really don't remember.

Cheap food can be found all over the strip in smaller places. But most buffets are pricey, some more than others.

^Thank you very much for the help! I'll definitely ride most of the rides there and probably the adventure dome! Oh, and the stripper cards was one of my goals already, so thanks for the competition! How many'd you get?! I've gotta beat your record...

Actually last I heard Manhattan Express (well Roller Coaster at NYNY) was up to something like $18 per ride. I know back in 2001 when I was there last it was $12 per ride, though a ticket stub from Desperado was good for a BOGO at NYNY. I think Speed and Circus Circus are worth it, but NYNY most definately is not, one of the worst most violent and uncomfortable coasters out there.

^Yeah, Circus Circus seemed like a good deal for the price, as is the stratosphere with our hotel discount. Even Speed seemed worth it....that's too bad about the manhatten express though.....

I think Parker is right about the price, and I believe that it is buy one get one half off whether or not you have rode Desperado. That was 2 years ago.

I assume you'll be there the 20th? That'll be the premiere of Bette Midler's "The Show Girl" musical review at the Colosseum. Website
