"In an interesting move, it seems Shapiro may be trying to win over coaster enthusiast’s hearts and doing the right thing with the current renovation on Shockwave. From what I’ve been told this is just the first phase in a 3-5 year plan to completely renovate and fix up the track on the 30-year-old coaster to ensure that future guests will be able to continue to enjoy it years from now. From what I’ve been told a similar plan has also been approved for Demon at Six Flags Great America."
I myself think this is an excellent idea. I rode the Shockwave at SFOT and it's an incredible coaster. I'm also very excited about the idea of Demon being renovated with the old scenery brought back and new trains. Hopefully they don't screw it up like they did with Revolution at SFMM.
It'd be great if they brought back the old theming. If you think about it, it doesn't cost too much to put in fog machines. Yeah, the waterfall may be a problem I guess but I'm sure they could find out a way to make it so that it doesn't screw up the track.

Well for one, the concrete structure is eroding from the water fall and it would cost probably thousands of dollars to fix...not to mention the eroding of the steel track. Thats why they had to replace it.
And second, the old theming of the ride is what makes it special during Fright Fest. If they were to keep it year round, it would cause a lot of maintaining, and it would loose it charm.
But instead of doing fog, they could at least do misters somewhere on the ride....even if its not in a tunnel.
Doing this type of maintenence on rides has nothing to do with theming, it is for the continued operation/good shape of the ride though many parks dont do it because its very expensive, labor intensive, tedious, annoying, and takes a very long time. Its good to see SF doing this type of maintenence though keeping the rides running like well oiled machines.
I know how expensive it is but all I'm saying is that how much would it hurt to have it on during fright fest. Or even just every other day of fright fest. I do think the fog is neccesary though........ and the soundtrack. During fright fest, they could have the sign, red eyes in the tunnel, and even more fog. I know this may sound stupid, but if there could be a way to get the top lights of the 2nd tunnel installed, I'd jump for joy.

The only downside i can see to having Demon brought back to normal is the fact that it wouldn't be as special to ride during Fright Fest like it is now with the limited time only scenery. Still, awesome idea to rehab old rides that are respected, loved, and still work decently!
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter

well, just put in extra things instead like only have the rats around the cage during fright fest. Also, they could light up the rock eyes during fright fest. That would be awesome.
