2nd Park Entrance?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

In this picture: http://groups.msn.com/kylecoasterworld/sfgamaugust12th.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=1986 theres a different sign with a diferent entrance. I never knew of this before. Where exactly is it? Are there ticket booths somewhere there? And how do guests get to the parking lot or into the park? Ive seen pictures of AE from the left side of it (if looking towards RB and the rest of AE) and have always wondered how someone could have taken it. Like this: http://www.coastergallery.com/1999/SFGA01.html. So can you guys tell me more? Thanks!

thats the washington street entrance, which is not open this season due to construction.....nextime your going down the exit ramp of raging bull....look towards A.E. and you'll see a road that goes right through the ride.....thats how some guests enter and exit the park....im pretty sure only buses go through there now. hoped that helped!

You never knew about this access? Geez. :lol:All you have to do is get on the Eagle and while riding going towards the big helix, look to your left. When riding on the return bunny hops, look to your right. YOU CAN'T MISS THE ROAD.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

I liked using that entrance. It was a lot faster than the Grand Ave. entrance.

What knid of "construction" was going on that wouldnt allow it to be used. It couldnt have been Superman. Also, when you go through that entrance, is there a second ticket booth area or do you have to go the regular ticket booths and entrance?Im assuming that this: http://groups.msn.com/kylecoasterworld/sfgamaugust12th.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=1985 is that hole in AE. But that hole is under the drop so why are you saying to look by the helix? So you enter on Wash. St., go through that hole, gomogo onto some steet I never knew about behind AE. into the bus parking lot and park somewhere (any spot, right?), and then go to the regular entrance. Am I correct? I still dont get it. So there are parking booths too there? Where are they? This is so confusing...

dah no that isnt the entrance that people drive through to enter the park, that is a maintenance enterance. the washington street enterance enters by the helix and there is a seperate parking booth for the washington street enterance, it is closed because of road construction on washington st.

Next time you are on RB look by AEs helix and you will see the booths. I think there are 2 of them.

The Washingon St. entrance closed after Sept. 11th 2001 because that entrance is hard to keep real secure. It stayed closed for budget cuts in 2002 and 2003 (you save money by not having to open extra tollbooths) and the contruction on Washington St. this year also was a factor.

I wouldn't think so. It's easier and cheaper to just keep it closed. That way there is one entry point to the parking lot. They have used it for exit traffic since 2001, but not this year because of the construction on Washington St.
