How to make sure all guests are out of the park?

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby coasterkid94 on November 13th, 2007, 7:07 pm
This question is kind of random, but it is something that I have always thought about. How do the workers at amusement/theme parks make sure that all of the guests are out of the park when it is closed? Whenever I go to SFGAm, I always think of all of the little places that somebody could hide once the park closes. Is there any one way for the security officers to make sure that all of the guests are out of the park?

I believe security guards walk the park from the back to the front with a flashlight checking every spot. Must be be a pain in the @ss since there are lots of places to hide.

After closing there is a brief grace period then security works their way around the park, most going from back to front, to ensure everyone is out of the park. Security guards also wait at the rides that are cycling last and shoehorn people out after they ride. After all the rides are finished cycling and people are out of the shops, they do a final sweep through the park and call out that the sweep is complete over the radio. Once they have done that, the 3rd shift park services team comes in and sprays down the midway.

And then once you've lost your keys that you can locate in the park they will push you out the gate without even giving you the number of a locksmith, essentially stranding you there for the night.

This is kind of on topic but do you think it'd be fun to be in a theme park overnight? I think it's be a blast.

Why would it be a blast? You wouldn't be able to do anything fun. Oh wow you can look at rides...

I think it'd be awesome too, especially if they had some sort of behind-the-scenes type thing.

Yeah, thats what i meant by a blast. Being like a mini fright fest. I love halloween and scary stuff. Imagine if it was during FF, man that'd be intense. I think it'd be cool if you were with you and your girl friend and they left the ambience (music) on by accident. Thatd be awesome

I've actually been in the park really late before dealing with lost and found (I guess like w00dland and his keys), and it was during fright fest, so trust me, walking out with just one or two other people when it's completly quiet and there's not any people around is really creepy. It turned out to be okay though because I got my stuff back the next day.
Captain, don't shake the passengers up too much this time!

^If you think that's creepy, try walking down Main Street at the Magic Kingdom alone. It happened to me at an E-Ride night about 5 years ago. It was almost 2am and the place was completely dead.

Its scarier walking down the tunnels next to the AVACs...

It doesn't matter...I get picked on enough geez....anyways being in a park alone with scaractors around would be scary but if you have your friends well it would be scary but not as bad as being alone.
