Remember the solo support before SUF was announced? That was such a huge deal... I was cracking up just reading those old posts.

I was just looking through all my old posts and trip reports trying to add up my count for Deja Vu. I realized how much of a different person I am than back in previous years. In early 2003 I was a crazy poster and acted a little stupid sometimes.

I look back and wonder why I didn't ride Vu more than I did.. The most I got in one day was 8 rides on it. I suppose that was opening day of 06... what an opening day that was. Some other day I got 7 rides on it.

But I guess it was just because I didn't always feel like riding it, I didn't go every single week, and it hasn't always been my favorite ride. Even though I signed up with this username, I still liked Raging Bull better. Although I did like Vu very much and thought it was pretty amazing. Especially since I didn't think it looked interesting at all before I rode it.

Sometimes I wish I could go back and ride it more than I did. I know it sounds pathetic but it's true. I'll never forget all the great memories I had on it... I had a retraction, a mispark or two, and a miscatch on tower 1. Then there was closing night, the 2nd to last ride of the ACE event. And so much more.

After counting, I got on it around 111 times, give or take a few. The only reason is I don't know how many times I rode it in 2002, but I thought maybe about 10 or more.

I also remember one of my TR's, it was titled Still better than Magic Mountain. Referring to Vu, it was something someone wrote down in the station. Back then, it was true. Now, look at the irony... Magic Mountain's is the one that is staying. It breaks my heart. But I guess one of these days, maybe in 2008, I'll get to MM and ride Vu once again. I'll even make a point to one day ride Stunt Fall.

Now we are all left to wonder where the two Vu's are going next... :)

It's finally starting to sink in. :(

I remember my first ride ever on Vu, last year. It was also the same day I got to ride V2 for the first time. I got put in 8b and loved it. For some reason though, I never had as much fun on it ever again. I rode it only 5 times since then. To be completely honest, I'm not dissapointed at all that it's going.

HAHAHA!

Oh man the solo support. That's when I started lurking here...
...and didn't join for another half a year.

I always go back and read REALLY old topics when I'm bored. My favorite is going through the old General thread before we had the Off-Topic Forum. Oh those were the days...

I remember lurking here everyday in high school programming back after my first summer of going to SFGAm more than 10 times. I remember all the Shockwave topics and the rumor about a giant Floorless coaster that was coming in 2004. Good times.

While we're on the topic of memories, I'm sure most of you remember the days of rep points on this site. That was such a bad idea in the end.

It's ok, losing Vu in SFGAm is like EPCOT losing Horizons to Mission: SPACE. Horizons was amazing and probably my most memorable part of EPCOT as a kid. Well, maybe Vu isn't on that calibur because I keep hoping for Horizons 2.0 which will probably never happen, I keep saying they should put it in the location of Wonders of Life.

Anyways, I loved the whole Dueces Wild thing, boy did we get that thing built so high. Ahh, that was a good time, but nothing beats my best of 12 rides straight on Vu and nearly 20 rides in a day and reaching 100 rides in a season on June 22, which was etched into the wood on one of the supports of the queue roofing. Or even just getting the 68 straight rides on Demon, or maybe it was 64, I don't remember and who really would after that many on Demon.

Dan, we got A LOT more than 12 straight on Vu on Mother's day 05. I think we had somewhere close to 30.

I remember my first ride on DeJaVu. It was one of the last coasters left for me to ride in 2002 when my Coaster Riding really started. What I remember from it, is that it so far is the only coaster that My mom wouldn't let me ride alone, because of all the breakdowns.

Its ironic in that out of like 10 Deja Vu and riding over 150 coasters, I have only stalled on V2 but Never on Deja Vu

My definition of stalling is when a Train on the track is supposed to be moving and not near the brakes stops mid-ride.

If any of you guys were working on V2 that day in 2004 I think, I was the one singing when it stopped.

So your mom thinks if you ride with someone on Vu that you will be safer if it breaks down?

Sorry, but a riding buddy isn't going to be able to help with that.

Chitown, it's just that I have a habit of talking to total strangers when I'm bored and she didn't want me making bullies or talking anyone's ear off. That's All.
