The Epic Journey Around Orlando

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Director_Guy on October 31st, 2007, 2:43 am
Image
Orlando. Flat as flat can be. We arrived Monday at 9 in the morning. Exhausted from the night before, going on three hours of sleep.
Image
Hey! We can see Universal from our window! Let's go! Let's go! Let's Go!

Image
We start our park adventure at the home of adventure, Islands of Adventure. Shall I say adventure one more time? Adventure!

Image
Hey look! Hulk!

Image
"No way am I riding that"

Image
Oh god! The Geico Gecko followed me!

Image
Our first ride of the trip.
Image
Ten minutes? Less than that! Totally walk on.

And it was very awesome.

Image
Hidden Mickey!

Image
.... Wow... hillarious.... I just love family circus.....

*cough*

Image
Wow, that looks wet.

Image
Over in Jurassic Park, they had a "live" dinosaur. They were really into selling the illusion of it. It was pretty cool.

Image
If it was alive, this would not be a good place to be...

Image
Always a good place to text message.

Image
Wow... that's suprising in a place for kids.

Image
This is a very beautiful park. Very Disney-esk.

Image
Didn't ride the flying unicorn just... cause ten minutes is too long to wait.

Image
But this was a deffinate must-do.
Image
This was a very good ride, both tracks.
Image
Lots of twistyness.

And wow did that line take forever. There was no one in it, yet its like a mile long.

I actually like Fire better than Ice. Really enjoyed Ice twising underneath me on the little camel back.

Image
Father fell asleep while waitng.

Image
Ha! That's really cool.
Image
Living on over at the other park.
Image

Image
Lots of cool stuff here for Halloween Horror Nights.
Image
Image
Oh wow, I look awesome...

Sidenote, get a haircut you damn hippie.

My camera died... then came back on. But did some Men In Black, Jaws, Earthquake, and pretty much everything. By the way, Mummy is really, really awesome.

Once my camera came back on, we had to get on E.T. since it was heartlessly ripped out of the Hollywood park.
Image
Our intergalactic journey on acid was a great trip down memory lane.

Image
This is where you can trade yor old crappy baby for a new cuter baby.

I hopped on Mummy again and father fell asleep.
Image
Image
"Huh? Wha? Can we go now?"

Yes, yes we can.

Well, Universal was fun, but HHN doesn't start until Thursday...

Hmm... what to do, what to do...

Image
Oh, hey great idea!
Image
Magic Kingdom was all decked out for Halloween Time.

Roaming the second happiest place on earth by yourself is actually quite fun. Able to take things at my own pace.

What's first?
Image
Ah, The Haunted Mansion, of course.
Image
I really reall really like all of the new changes to the ride. The sounds in the stretching room are great.

How bout some splash, now?
Image
Image
Brer Ribbit.
Image
Image
Mmmm... wetness.
Image
Wow, I never knew Disney was so dirty....

Image
Stupid Big Thunder was Stupid closed!

Image
Oh my! A bunch of little hidden mickeys everywhere!

Image
Hmmm.... what's going on here?

Image
I then hopped on the lack-luster version of Pirates. Disneyland so has them beat on this one.

Image
You aint never seen a ride like me! Oh wait... yes we have. It's 200 feet that way.

Image
Pretty...
Image
One thing MK has over DL is size. Everything is so much bigger here. And suprisngly more beautiful.
Image
Hidden Mickey?!
Image
M.I.L.F.! It still cracks me up.

Image
Time to ride the side I didn't last time on the bigger (and not as good) Space Mountain.
Image
20 Minutes? This is my lucky week.

Image
After a kiddie coaster
Image
and finding out I can't walk through the castle...
I walked around a bit taking pictures...
Image
Image
Image
until I came upon the infamous....
Image
DoleWhip.
Image
After all the hype, I didn't think it'd live up.... but it certainly did. My tastebuds melted with the ice cream.

I decided it was time to check out my other options. 190 bucks for a two day park hopper and I wasn't about to let that go to waste.
Image
Image
"Well, sir, there's nothing on earth like a genuine, bona fide, electrified, six-car Monorail!"
Image
See? It's got one rail.

Hello, Epcot. How are you?
Image
You know, Spaceship Earth kind of looks like a hidden mickey with those clouds in the back there.
Image
Oh, by the way, Spaceship Earth... Thanks for being closed...

Went to Test Track first.
Image
Thank God for single rider. Jealous, That Guy?

Since I no one would ride with me last time, I didn't ride this
Image
But now I don't care. I'm riding anyway....
Image
Image
It's a blury Lt. Dan!

Image
Beverly= horrible! Started out smelling tarty. Took a drink. No taste... then WHAM! I nearly fell to the floor.

That Fanta, however, was pretty good. This is a good place to get a free drink.

Image
It made me have the ability to fly, and I flew over SSE.

Last time I was here all of the water was drained out
Image
It looks alot better now.

Image
I gotta say... this is one trippy ride.

I walked around World Showcase for a bit, letting in the sights, sounds, and smells from other countries.
Image
Image
Image

Great stuff... but I better get a move on if I'm going to hit the other two parks.
Image
Totty?
Image
Totty!!

Image
Not-so-hidden Mickey.

Image
Good ol' Totty. I really love this ride.
Image
Image
Image

Didn't spend much time at this park. I did, however, check out this coast's Star Tours... cause it used to be one of my favorites at Disneyland.

It was pretty much the same, although I liked somethings about the queue... like this
Image
and these guys
Image
but its all pretty much the same
Image

Image
Sweetums! My favorite Muppet!

Image
Maniacal.

Image
This is really a beautiful park. Too bad it lacks in attractions.
Image
However, the attractions it does have, are superb.
Image
Some sort of primate!

Image
These folks were filiming something. They were ceratinly an interesting group of characters.

Image
Weee Everest!
Image
Image
Wee Steam!
Image
Wee unneccesary first lift hill.
Image
This is my braingasm face.
Image
One side open, guess I'll have to come back tomorrow.

Image
dinosaur. SPONSERED BY MCDONALDS!

Image
I brought home a little friend from our time continum treck.

Image
Hey! Hey stork! Hey! Give me a baby! I know you have some!

Animal Kingdom closed, so I went back for some more Epcottings.
Image

Image
I got some free drinks and knocked the beverly out of peoples hands.

Also, did Mission: Space a few more times
Image

Image
Image

Tried out some of the lesser-known Epcot rides
Image
This one you can eat next to. Just like the Blue Bayou at Disneyland.
Image

I waited around until Illuminations.
Image
Which was totally awesome!

Then went home for sleepage.
Image

Interesting side note, our hotel actually had a thirteenth floor!
Image

Mmmm... sleep was good. Wait... screw sleep. I have a WDW ticket!
Image

Image
Still no lines.
Image

Image
There's totally no one here.
Image
Mansion again!
Image
Image
This was great! I didn't even know she moved until I payed attention this time.
Image
I was pretty much the only one in line.
Image
Hinges are creeking and the chambers are doorless.
Image
Image
So, hurry back we would like your company.

Image

Image
Grrrrr.....
Image
Kaboom!

Image
Hidden... Mick...ey?

Image
Time for a little more Splash.
Image
Brer Handicapped?
Image
Even the seats or supirior on this version.
Image
Although.... water is still wet no matter which bi-coastal theme park you're at.
Image
Zip-a-dee-effing-doo-da. I found my laughing place, Uncle Remus, it's right here!

Image
Okay... This is one of my favorite shows here. I really, really enjoy it and wish Disneyland would get it as well.

How bout some random pictures?
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

Image
Hahahahaha!

Image
They died playing this game. Just goes to show you that you can't really lose until you give up.

Image
I was told to try the Dolewhip float.
Image
It gave me brainfreeze.

But other than that, I liked just the ice cream better.
Image
Mouth POV

Image
Image
So much bigger than Disneyland... and still inferior.

I then went back to DAK to get that other side of that kind of lame spinning coaster.
Image
And of course to ride Everest.
Image
Image
Oh and they got single rider going now!
Image
Wooo!
Image
This is the line for the Nemo show.

Image
Here's that lame coaster. Got the other side.
Image
I really don't care for these coasters. Bummer. I usually have fun on any coaster.
Image

As I walked back, the Nemo line was moving and I decided to hop in and watch.
Image
The show was okay... Kind of cheesy. The acting was good, but it's very... theatre-like over acting. But other people seem to really like it, which is what matters.
Image
One compaint, though... They have you sit in these uncomfortable seats for 40 minutes.

Image
Before.
Image
After.

:D

Image
Monorail, sweet Monorail.
Image
Yeeeeee Haaaaaa!
Image
I had to leave soon, so I walked around Magic Kingdom to end my night.
Image
Image
Image

I rode the Haunted Mansion several times, saw Philharmagic again, then went to the hotel.
Image

During the night we had gone from our hotel to a timeshare located closer to Universal.
Image
Spacious.
Image
And right out side was Fun Spot. Looked kind of lame, but the go-karts looked great!
Image
And look! Universal is close enough to walk to!

Image

Image
Cici's! Hahahaha!

Image
Attractions... Up?

Image
Nothing is this way.

Prices at Citywalk are a bit crazy...
Image
This costs 10 bucks.

Image
We began our frightful day at IOA to check out what we were too tired to check out before.
Image
Yes. We are awesome.
Image
Yes. I do need a haircut.
Image
Gwar!

Image
Image
I missed it last time, so I had to get on it.
Image
This says 5 minutes, I swear. And it was less than that.
Image
Incredible Hulk is fun, but far from incredible. Too short, honestly.
Image
Image
Still, very fun.

The attention to detail in Spider-man is.... disgusting...
Image
Image
Look! I'm in 3-D! Whoooooooaaaaaa.

Image
Apparently, it rained HARD when we were on spider man.

Let's go get drenched on Dudley Doo-right.
Image
Image
Image

Image
One of my favorite rides.... only lesser. It's deffinately not as cool as CA's.

Image
Still soaked, we went over to Universal Studios.
Image
They were setting up the metal detectors.
Image
Image
Emmet Brown and I had a nice talk. I told him I had just gone to see the dinosaurs two days earlier. He was interested.

Image
Holy crap.

Image
Very cool.

Image
One of the houses... one of the better ones, too.
Image
Don't dream it. Be it.

Image
I'm REALLY suprised they serve alcohol during this event.

Image
Kid, these are the twins. Wyllnk and Bob.
Image
Who needs the Kwik-E-Mart... I dooooooo.

Image
More HHN stuff.

Image
Look at all those people waiting.

The park closed and waited for people to shuffle on out. We waited by the front gates.
Image
Image
Image
It takes forever for people to actually leave the park, but once they did, we were let into Horror Nights.
Image
Image
Lots of clowns here.
Image
Even ones on motor bikes.
Image
Image
It's Jack!

Image
We checked out the Nightmare on Elm Street house first.
Image
Man, lines are gonna be really bad tonight.

Image
Haha, they're serving shots.... get it?

Image
I found this amusing.

Image
Yay 3-D.

Image
Yay rat lady!

Who's cruel and awesome joke was it to put The Thing house
Image
In the Barney section?!
Image
Now that's scary.

Image
We did the time warp again.
Image
This becomes a very adult park after dark.

It was dissapointing that there were alot of people, who probably didn't understand, leaving the show. Oh well.

Image
Ohhhh scaryness.
Image
Wow, it's really foggy here.
Image
I liked her. She seemed funny.
Image
75 minutes!!?!?!?? It was ten earlier!!

Image
It is so incredibly packed here.

Image
I will swallow your soul.

Image
I enjoyed HHN. Personally, I think things are on par at our Fright Fest. However, Universal deffinately has the "Wow! What a budget!" factor going for them. But as far as performers and how they transform their park, it's on the level with SFGAm.

Image
Oh God no! It's here too!

This concludes my epic journey around Orlando. It's a great way to end the season... but I think I may have one more trip in me.

I leave you with this humorous picture.

Image
The End.

Wow. Great TR, Love the Pictures, Makes me miss Orlando, Oh Well, hopefully i'll be back next year. I agree abourt the hulk, way over hypsd, Dueling Dragons Ice is the best coaster i've ever been on though.

I also agree with Animal Kingdom, too few attractions, but They are all supurb. Dinosaur is my favorite at the World, And Everest and Safaris are both amazing!
Captain, don't shake the passengers up too much this time!

The Dole Whip Float is totally better, just got to mix the ice cream with the pineapple juice. I really want one right now, but got to wait another month and 2 weeks. By the way, $5.49 for Cici's, that is high, I thought it was $4.49, wow. Oh, that Fanta is not very good compared to the old Japan drink or the current Mexico dirnk, those are/were far superior. Also, that thing you saw by Star Tours is the new Jedi Training Academy, that was just put in within the last couple months. Lastly, just wait for the new and improved Space Mountain after it reopens in 2009, it's going to rokk!

Question though, they had the baby swap at USO, do they have a girlfriend swap as well?

Do you have an AP? If not, you could've taken me and I would've gave you my main-gate for wdw.

How long did you wait during HHN? Did you get through all the houses?

P.S. DD Ice is better :)

Dan I actually went to the one on 535 by the mini-golf course, thought it was $4.49, but then realized I needed a drink  , so really they arent much cheaper than anywhere else.

But Cici's is not good at all. We went to the one right across from the entrance to WDW. The one where the CMs get it for $3 with a drink. Still, it is not worth the $6 after the drink, it's so cheap. There are a few here in Chicago area that I had to take some of my friends to experience horrible and disgusting pizza, that is my opinion of course. However, there are some weird creations they have there, like the mac 'n cheese pizza and the taco pizza (which I have yet to see here in Chicago)

We bought the last express pass at HHN, so we got the most of the houses. I did one, then he did one, etc.

I've heard from many people that Ice is better, but I really did like Fire a little more. They're both nearly the same, though.

And, John. I thought you were back out here in the midwest. Otherwise I would've asked you to meet me there....

And Cici's sucks no matter what price its at. And the taco pizza? I've seen it at the one in Carpentersville. They shout "Ole!" when the put one out.

yeah, I don't really like Cici's that much. Sure, there were some interesting kinds of pizza, but not all that great.

cool TR. Only 50 days till I go to disney! yay!

oh, to add onto what danhockey said, is there a boyfriend swap?

This TR kept me up a solid half hour later than I should have been. I was just going to check SFGAmworld to see how many rumors popped up and then started reading this. Way to go.

I love Universal so much. Glad you had fun. Nice pictures.
