10/13/07 Lots of ride reviews!

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby IHeartRagingBull on October 14th, 2007, 12:49 pm
So, I got at six flags right when it opened. We used a Golden Flash Pass since my mom complained last time because we were in line for Superman & it took 3hrs when it said it would take 1hr, so that was nice. We got on each ride in 10min max b/c of that. It was really cool. I can't even remember how many rides I rode that day, so I'll just review each. =]

Superman Ultimate Flight
Times riden: 2

This is always the first ride when I arrive at Great America. I love this one because it is not scary, but fun! The seating is really secure, but if it's not tight enough, you often lean forward which can get uncomfortable since the ride is one where you lie down. My favorite part would have to be the loop. The G's on this ride are awesome! It is not my favorite ride in the park, but definately not my least favorite.

Vertical Velocity "V2"
Times riden" 5

This is truely one of my favorites. I love the adrenaline rush when you are waiting for a seat and you see the coaster just zoom by! When they first launch you, it's awesome. All the girl (or maybe guy, in your case) tells you before you leave is, "Launching. Goodbye," and you take off up the spiral and go backwards up the spike, which is super fun. It's kind of cool when they hold you up at the spike and have that dude screaming as a sound effect because the coaster shakes. It's not scary, just really fun! I don't reccomend it as your first ride in the park, however, because it WILL scare the crap out of you. Been there, done that. Go get warmed up first.

Batman The Ride
Times riden: 4

Another favorite. Lots of inversions and G's. I like the idea of being suspended under the track with your feet dangling below. The queve line is gorgeous! It is so pretty let creepy and has some awesome decor. The tunnels you walk through really give you that Batmany vibe. The ride itself is fantastic. Smooth for the most part, but sometimes you have to fight the G's and shift your head the opposite direction to avoid head banging. This is probably my second favorite ride.

Iron Wolf
Times riden: 2

This ride is cool, but uncomfortable. Kind of funny, when I was waiting for the train to leave the station, I was jumping up and down in the seat & all of a sudden it locked in place and I was like  because my feet were really far from the ground! This ride is a head banger for sure. A lot of it is not bad, but the corkscrews are hell. But this would be really fun if it weren't for the pain. My friend's dad complained more than me and my friend and my mom (hint, hint), so guys, beware!

Demon
Times riden: 1

My least favorite. It is sort of cool, but it is like nothing but a head banger. What is it? Like two drops, two loops, two corkscrews which totally BANG your head, and it's just not impressing. Very old ride, it's a classic that you kind of have to go on. The best part is probably the loops.

Raging Bull
Times riden: 5

THIS IS THE BEST! I was sooo scared before I went on, looking at the steep drops and I was like "WTF?" because all you got was a lap thing on such a gigantic ride! But then I tried out the test seat and I fell in love with how suprisingly comfy and secure it was! I could sit in that thing all day! It felt so good lol! I was still scared of the drops, though. Then I got on and it was kind of funny b/c you know how you do a mini-mini drop as you turn for the lift hill which is before the ride starts? A lot of people were like "OH SH!T!" on that part and me and my friend were laughing our butts off! Then we went up the hill which was the scariest part lol. I was shaking of nervousness with my eyes closed. Then I opened them and saw how far up we were, and i felt us going down the teaser hill, and that's when I was like OMG! Then we dropped which was a piece of cake, but soooo fun & fast! The banking is amazing, looking at your side at all the ant-sized people! Excellent. You don't even need the lap bar. It's easy to keep your hands up the whole ride. And this is an absolute MUST at night! The lift is so brightened and pretty and the drops are so much more fun since they actually drop your stomach, something it's not capable on at night.

This was my best expirience at Great America. I highky reccoment the Golden Flash Pass unless you enjoy waits. Fright Fest is awesome this year! The people who chase you generally come out at night & it's SO FUN!

Hope you enjoyed. This was my first review and keep in mind I'm just a stupid 13-year-old girl and I'm not the best writer in the world, in case you were wondering!

Loveee,
Nikki!

How much do the Gold Flash Passes cost, and can you use them an unlimited number of times that day?

Iheartragingbull too.

Demon is more than a classic. It used to be Turn of the Century and have two bunny hops in place of the loops. And the best part of the ride is the drop because it is steeper and gives you more airtime than all the other rollercoasters in the park, believe it or not (including Raging Bull).
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.

^ How is Demon's drop steeper than Raging Bull's? I never would have guessed that.

It's not, Demon's drop is only 54 degrees and Bull's is 65 degrees.

I do agree with Demon's first drop providing more airtime than Raging Bulls. Though I still think Bull is an all-around better coaster.

The airtime in the very back of demon is just amazing! Front........different story but still very fun. The corkscrew headbanging is easy to avoid which makes me angry when people complain about it all the time. Love the eyes in the first tunnel!
