^No, like Drk said, that wont happen. Unless gam wants to pay the maufactuar/designer to re-design the restraints and cars to accomodate younger kids, it will remain 48". Sorry, thats just how it is. And even if they did, there would be at least the rest of the season of down time to even do that.

Ride ops don't say that. They are much nicer about it.

Also, the height requirements are set by the manufacturers. They set the requirements based on the way the restraint is made. Height requirements are not set based on how intense or tame the ride is. Yeah, Ragin' Cajun may be one of the more tame rides in the park, but as long as the restraints stay the way they are, that 48" height limit stays.

B&M inverts are actually 52" minimum according to B&M.

I don't think we will see new tallest and fastest roller coasters. Look at Cedar Point; they took a break from that and made an awesome ride that wasn't record breaking (Maverick). I think the next generation of coasters will be just plain ol' good ones, not ones that have to be taller and faster.

But then again, the industry's so unpredictable now. I mean, look at 2003 when Cedar Point built Top Thrill Dragster. No one saw it coming. People thought it would be years before the 400' coaster would be introduced. I think it'll be a matter of a few years before the next world record breaker comes out.

The parks next big attraction should be a dark ride. IMHO it should be a interactive darkride like MIB, and a Batman theme would be excellant. A dark ride like this would be family friendly without a height limit that would restict alot of guests like a 54" coaster would,

I just have a feeling it will be wooden coasters, because of the Gravity Group and all of the great work they've done lately, and even Intamin has gotten in on it with wooden coasters again. I wouldnt be suprised if B&M even created a wooden coaster, possibly with a 4 seat row for larger capacity. Hrm. Makes me wonder.

Well, 2 things to add here before I go out of town.

Cedar Fair is up for sale, so count them out for the next big thing.

and B&M has made wood coaster trains, they were an abomination and universally hated by all, they ran on Psyclone at SFMM and I'm sure played a big part in the ride being turned into toothpicks(they were way heavy and tore up the track badly). Though if anyone didnt ride in them, they were saved and will run backwards on Colossus on an annual basis during fright fesst from what i hear.

But in all seriousness, I don't think B&M is going to jump on the Wooden Bandwagon. They have such better success with steel, and they really would need to come out with something amazing to get parks to take them over GCI, Gravity Group, or Intamin.

^^ I But I think a hydraulic for SFOT would be nice on the 50th anniversary because it was the first Six Flags and the only one that has really been open for 50 years...

They could expand the parking lot and put it next to Titan. It would be costly but it is the 50th and who knows where Shapiro and Six Flags's money will be.

Not going to happen, Kingda Ka was originally going to be placed at SFOT, However due to SFOT being in a flight path of DFW, the height limit at SFOT is 330 feet.

Now, I would think that Demon would be kind of intense for little kids. I honestly think they should have an age requirement too. Some kids can be very young, but very tall.

^Age? Very young, but not very tall? That doesnt make sense. Obviously if they're young, they're gonna be short. Age should have nothing to do with it. If somehow a four year old meets the height requirements, it should up to them and their parents wether they can ride not the manufactuer.

I'm going to say that the rocket coasters are going to get faster, not necessarily taller.

I could see something hitting 150mph, but having a really big turn around, and a long camel back. People would still go crazy over it, because its so fast.

Height is going to become a problem after awhile, with restrictions that no one thought would be reached years ago.

I don't think SFGAm will invest in another wooden coaster. They have two very different, but both very good ones in my opinion. I think they could use either
A) a Floorless B&M
B) An Intamin similar to Maverick
C) An Intamin Launch like Xcelerator at Knotts

We don't need another "gimmick" coaster. We have plenty of those.....S:UF, Raging Cajun, DeJaVu, V2. And those were all the newest coasters there. So we need a big, custom, capacity eater for our next coaster. If we have to wait until the 50th anniversary then ok.

But in general, I think Kings Island will be the next for a record breaker. They have TONS of land that they could slap a huge coaster in.
