From what I have the doctors are not allowed to release any information on her since she is a minor, the only we will find out is through the family. Also, the surgery took about 15 hours which means there is a good chance they re-attached her feet and the muscles. The only thing wrong is that the nerve cells will never grow back or get repaired.

That's a good point.
Also, I noticed at Cedar Point that Demon Drop was just as popular as Power Tower.

That's good to hear that they probably re-attatched her feet.
Well, I'm assuming STOP at KK is never going to reopen and will probably be dismantled, but has anybody heard yet when the other Giant Drop-type towers, including ours will reopen? Do you think they could all be closed for the rest of the year? I highly doubt they would do this due to costs involved, but if Six Flags deems them too dangerous after what happened, I wonder if they would replace them with the newer S & S air powered towers like Superman at SFOT or Power Tower? (They could paint it dark and make it look like a huge oil derrick, and it would still fit the theme of the Southwest Territory.)
^ I doubt that S:TOP would be removed. Especially given the other incidents on Rollercoasters and Rides that have killed guests, and that didnt necessarily mean the under of the ride. However, Cajun Cliffhanger was removed following an incident involving a guest.

How'd they get the feet down?
With all this publicity you'd think someone waiting in line would tell us the right story...
and flying feet are scarier to me than the ride breaking- everyone except for the girl who got hurt seemed fine- rattled -but physically perfectly fine. That says to be that besides the "freak" of the cable swinging around and snagging someone's feet, the ride did everything it was supposed to do, it stopped safely at the bottom.
I work at an arcade, we have video cameras everywhere that monitor pretty much every single thing that happens- shouldn't a place like six flags have cameras that can replay every little detail? It shouldn't take this long for answers. A lady tried to rip me off with credit card fraud and thanks to the camera we have proof that she was lying to us. My friend had someone put coke in her locker (at a middle school even!) and since they had cameras, they were able to see that it was someone else who had slid the bag through the slits in her locker. Records, logs, proper safety checks, maintenance....surveillance should be on that list too.
*please note that i am talking about cameras that actually record and tape things. not just scare people away or have some bozo sitting in a room full of tv's sipping a latte.
guess i don't get to ride GD this year...
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.
in one of the first videos shown of the ride after the accident, you can see a ladder set up next to the ride so the sunshade could be reached.
It would cost a fortune for that many cameras as it would take a min of 3 just to keep an eye on the tower if not more to cover it top to bottom, coasters would take a good dozen to see the whole layout. That just wouldnt be very cost effective in a venue such as an amusement park (outside of general park security of course)

I agree, cameras wouldn't do much, and they would be expensive. I have seen a few cameras on rides though... especially at Cedar Point. On many of the coasters, I saw at least one.
Kaitlyn's parents would like to again take this opportunity to reiterate that there has been no contact with the family by any employee of KY Kingdom Theme Park at this time.
So far this family has issued two statements, both expressing how little Six Flags is doing to help them. If I had to guess it sounds like a big lawsuit is going to come from this. Not saying Six Flags doesn't deserve it or anything, but this could be a big lawsuit. Good to hear they got one of her feet reattached though.

From what I have heard, Shapiro himself offered to talk to them and the parents rejected it. They also rejected to talk to the park officials who has contacted the family three or four times. So, I think they are just trying to get as much money out of this thing as possible.

Since it is a young girl, the media will hound this and the family knows that. Make Six Flags look horrible, public outcry against the park, 50 million dollar law suit, this forum gets turned into a memorial to what once was SFGAm website.
Seriously if the girl was a 40 yearold male named gus who drove a truck, no one would care as much.
