Thought you SFGAm guys might like to see the condition the SFMM's DV is in. I took this pic today:I have no idea what they are doing to the train, but this is the most taken apart I've ever seen it. Have they done anything like this to SFGAm's DV this summer?--Robb "I wish they would continue taking the rest of it apart and sent it somewhere else!" Alvey[/img]
Interesting.I have read that the train on DV at SFMM was basically stripped but that pic is still wierd. No, SFGAm's DV hasnt had that happen but the train was completely removed this season up until the end of July when it finally opened.I love this ride but the B.S. that SF has to go through for this ride is becoming redundant.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
Its weird that they just didnt take off the whole train. Oh yeah I talked a a supervisor today at S:UF and he said DV will be down for a week. He said its undergoing maintenece.

The SFGAm one is the only one of the US 3 that I haven't been on. The SFMM version is "ok". I mean, the ride itself in any seat but the front is pretty uneventful, and it really jolts hard when it catches on the 2nd spike. I've only ever been on it twice because it's either a. down, or b. line is 3-4 hours long. It's really a shame that SFMM got two coasters in one year that are not only uncomfortable to ride, but inconvenient to ride also. At least SFGAm got an Impulse that year!--Robb "Who would glady trade X and Deja Vu for an impulse." Alvey
Deja Vu is really a poor situation. SFGAm's DV was down for the betterpart of this season and it still needs to be down on maxed out weekends and for weeks at a time. I hope that with the park now going to weekends only, that they can get the ride under control. It will be very telling if they can't even run it on the upcoming weekends. The impulse v. X is an intersting opinion Robb. I have been underwhelmed by X but I don't know if I would rather have an impulse located near-by instead. It's always interesting to read the different opinions.

The seats are comfortable, yes. But in my opinion, the ride is extremely rough now. It's also VERY inconsitent. I've been on it twice this summer. Both rides on the inside seat (I refuse to ride it on an outside seat now, it's just WAY too rough there). One ride was 'ok', the other ride was one of the roughest I've ever had on it.The ride suffers from two problems: throughput and inconsistent roughness. If one of the two problems would go away, then the remaining issue might be tolerable. As it is now, the last time I rode, we were at the park at 9am, gates opened at 10am. We ran up to X and was very near the front of the line. (I was there with people who hadn't ridden before). X's line opened at 10:30, the ride started operating about 11:00am. They were running 1 train (as they have been all summer long). We were on the 3rd train out, but the way the slow loading goes, that train didn't leave the station until 11:35. It's not uncommon at all for them to dispatch trains once every 10 minutes. So the moral of the story is, even to be on the 3rd train out we had to invest 2 hours and 35 minutes of our time. And that ended up being my really rough ride! The entire summer the "3-4 hour" wait sign has been up and that's pretty much about right. On Saturdays, the line is easily 5-6 hours. The scary thing is, people continue to wait that long. The ride is just not worth it. I will put in that early morning 'running of the bulls' effort for very few people! =) We had some friends come out a couple of weeks ago on a Monday and Tuesday, and they waited 3 1/2 hours on Monday, 3 hours on Tuesday. I just don't think any ride is worth investing nearly 7 hours to only get 2 rides on.I've pretty much accepted the fact that I'm only going to ride X maybe once or twice a year until they figure out a way to move people through the queue faster. in my opinion, I don't think it will ever happen. And they removed the fastlane option late last year. If the ride was smooth and amazing (and it really was the first 2 months it was open) or if the waits weren't horrible, I would ride it more often. As for my rather having an Impulse intead of X - At least an Intamin impulse seems a lot more reliable, delivers a smooth fun ride every time, and moves people through the queue faster than 150 PPH!Honestly, you SFGAm guys aren't missing ANYTHING! --Robb "Just my 2 cents worth on X!" I personally come to develop a hate for V2....after too many rides its just boring to me now. I used to love the ride when it first opened but it got old quickly. As for X, I was in California a little over 2 weeks ago and was able to get 4 rides on it. I thought it was awesome, my number 1 for sure.As for roughness, Rob im sure you have noticed. It seems to get rougher the further towards the back you ride. I waited 3 hours for 2 of my rides and didn't have to wait for my other two at all thanks to my running skills , I was the first one in front row out of the station on two days.Hopefully S&S will get a chance to build a 2nd generation 4D. It has some serious potential, its the only ride ive waited 3 hours for and considered worth every minute. Also when I was there Deja Vu looked like that basically except it still had the metal things that are usually in the back of the seats. It figures once SFGAm's starts running I leave and go to California where thiers isn't running and now that im back ours has been running off and on. At least I got 2 rides on it this year so far
Yeah, I guess 550/hour is better. At least X has the ability to improve it's capacity in the future with more than one train and better procedures. We're kind of stuck with V2.I really didn't care for X. Seriously, Coasterman_Jro thought I was high when I told him, but I really didn't like it. However, in comparison to V2, I would say it offers a more unique ride and a ride that has not yet been duplicated anywhere else. V2 has had its share of downtime as well and is often closed for spats of time. Still, I guess it is nothing compared to what I have seen and read about X though and your post layed out similiar frustration from others. You're the guy with a wealth of coaster experience; I will be a little more appreciative of V2 and give it another ride.

That is what I am hoping for as well.---Sorry for the double, I was trying to insert a quote.. How do I move it to my original?
