Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Just saw this on the news.
X-Coaster (yes an XCar Coaster) at Magic Springs & Crystal Falls in Hot Springs, Arkansas lost power today.
The ride left two cars full of riders stranded at the top curve of the coasters lift.
For those of you who don't know what an X-Car Coaster is, here's a link to the coaster.

As you can see, the top of lift is inverted.
Riders were described as very red, and one vomited.

I hear about this on the radio. I can't believe that the ride has no otsr.

I think they were hanging for something like an hour - 90 mins or so.
However if anything this proves Lapbars are perfectly safe on looping coasters, OTSR's are unnecessary in 99% of cases. Though it seems like only Schwarzkopf, Premeir and Maurer Soehne understand that.

I heard they were only up there for a half an hour. The trains are not that big, and if it was around an hour/hour and a half, people would have passed out by then, or gotten sick/sicker.

I'm sorry to have to cite AOL for this (I loathe AOL), but at least they have a picture of what happened (sadly, only one):

And shockwave guy mark was right--they were only hanging for half an hour.

Wow, that sucks. I remember that ride had problems last year the day I went, I only got to ride it once. Pretty neat ride though.
