Pretty amazing stuff, appears to be a Hydraulic Line Failure from the look of those flames, hot oil + hot ride parts = something that would look just like that, will be interesting what the final report comes up with, if the Estonians come up with a final report and put it in the media
Also, BTW (I didnt know either)

Whoa that's scary. And it just kept spinning right through the fired. From the video it looked pretty bad and geez 41 people were taken to the hospital. Was this a low standard carnival, a freak accident or what?
all that I know is that it was a Huss enterprise which would be identical to probably the dozen or so in the US and around 100 around the world, so it's likely either a freak accident or shoddy maintenance, I'd lean heavily towards freak accident, in Europe they stay on top of ride maintenance pretty well, though I cant vouch for Estonia, I believe this traveling fair is affiliated with Tivoli which is a reputable company based in Denmark.
Also at the very end the carnies were spinning the wheel by hand in order to evacuate everyone, which apparently they did quite well.

Yeah that is very scary. I wonder what the cause is. Remember guys in eastern coutries like in Poland, the theme parks (if any) do not have to get a permit. In Poland you can get it, but it's optional. And since it's expansive, there is only one amuesment park that acctually have a permit out of a lot. I know this because last month a ride just came out from support in Poland. And They said all that scary info about parks in Poland. So my guess about Estonia is the same. I'm pretty sure they don't require permit either.
This ride is like our "Orbit". The evaucation and the entire process was really good. Yes the ride had to be spinning, so i think they might have pressed ride stop to end the cycle earlier. They cannot press E-Stop if the ride is in moition- WHy? If they ride is above ground level, and u press e stop the power is out, and the ride would have just fallen to the ground, and might do some serious stuff, even deaths. So that theme park did a really good job with helping people.
Six Flags Ameirca as the number 1 park at SFI.... this is JOKE!
I think I've heard a E stop on a Huss Enterprise is alittle more controlled than Orbit's Stop n' Drop
I know in Western Europe safety standards are the most stringent in the world, going by the German TUV standards (about 90% of rides in the US would be condemned if the TUV took over)
Estonia though, I would think would be similar to Poland and the like, I still think it was just a freak accident or the owner of the ride suggested it could have been arson.

Acutally just checked my copy of the Huss Enterprise manual (damn right I'm bored), and Huss E-Stop does not stop n drop. it says,
Press the Emergency Stop button on the control board. This results in absence of current. Now the Swinging arm must be lowered independently (manually) and the wheel has to slow down and stop. In case the operation is not as described above for absence of current, check the magnetic valves and make sure the tappet of the delay valve -(41)- which is situated in the area of the limit switches- comes down properly from the radial cam.
The delay valve is what stops the freefalling of the arm which is basically what Schwarzkopf's do. So that very well could have been an E stop. Also there is a hose break valve which prevents freefalling.
Other than that, no real news on what happened so far, though being in estonia I doubt any final news will trickle down to the west unless it's in YouTube form

http://themeparkcritic.com/scripts/profile/ViewProfile.asp?ViewID=2909 A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!
