Troy, new GCII Wood Coaster tips over

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

at Toverland in the Netherlands they are building a new GCI woodie called troy, during a freak storm today the entire lifthill was blown over (guess no one ever told them not to erect structure much beyond the track bed)

http://www.weeweeslap.com/forum/topic.a ... hichpage=6

there are some pics there of them building the lifthill and at the bottom of the page there is a before and after storm (also shows the back side of a rather impressive Anvil cloud)

also just noticed the name of the site, I swear it's coaster related and work safe, nothing to do with what it looks like, I was linked there from a dutch forum :)

On snap. That's not good.

Sounds like it is now pushed back 1-3 weeks, not as bad as I would have thought. However, I did think it was rather funny to read about it, but I guess as it is something I think funny, others think bad, while in sense, it is bad. :?

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

^ Yes, Son of Beast at Kings Island has a similar accident when it was being constructed as well.

Again, at least no one was hurt.

^So maybe this is a sign of a bad future. Heck, look what has happened to Son of Beast lately.....let's hope future riders of Troy are aware of the risks involved now :)

perhaps the fact that the track is an intergral structural component of the ride, and as it was missing the weakened structure couldnt withstand the storm (also the final bent had not been secured in really any way between the time it was erected and the time the storm hit, Minutes I hear)
