Psyclone Razed

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby BP317 on March 2nd, 2007, 4:52 pm
It didnt take SFMM long to take out Psyclone, reports from early in the week indicate the entire structure now has been taken down. Bye bye to the only wooden coaster in the world to run B&M trains (unless you count Colossus during FF).
They will probably get Flashback done sometime before spring break also.

Rest in Pieces, Psyclone.
Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking, isn't thinking of.

BON-fire wood! I hear a lot of coaster fans came off of Psyclone with a minor injury. Is Flashback gonna be next? What I hear it hasn't run in ages.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.

There were hints that Flashback's days are not yet over, although I highly doubt SF would refurbish it.

Have you guys been living under a rock or something? Flashback hasnt run since 2002, and theres no way they could ever get it operable again. It is very beat up and in horrible condition. SFMM put out a press release a few weeks ago saying its being removed.

Now all they have left to remove is Superman. If that coaster goes, you now have 14 coasters that are world class in my opinion.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

I also had read somewhere that Six Flags had mentioned relocating Flashback elsewhere in the park. I seriously doubt they will though.

I seem to remember reading back when Shapiro first took over that they would be looking to 'clean up' parks by removing run down, rough, low-popularity rides; and I certainly believe that Flashback falls into that category.

While it is sad to see any coaster demolished, sometimes the reasons for doing so are justified(such as Flashback; Psyclone).
Finally Coaster Season!!

I was one of the luckies who got to ride Flashback around when SCREAM! opened. I wasn't fun, about as rough as Wolf with square wheels, and ugly as Britney Spears without hair. The only reason I'll miss it is because it is a part of SFGAm's history.
