Steel Venom is missing from the 2007 Park Map, and I read on Coasterbuzz that at NCC the photos of that area of the park had the Steel Venom spikes airbrushed out. It looks like that whole area (except from the Boomerang and the tower) is getting nuked for the 2007 season. in my opinion, removing two of some of the park's biggest coasters has got to be the worst decision ever made by GL.
What a great season Guegea Lake's gonna have this year.
EDIT: Ok, maybe I worded it out wrong, I meant removing two of the park's major coasters is a real bad idea.

Love the topic title! "double screwed.....". Could be the new slogan... "We've screwed you twice this off-season...so come back this summer and see what else we have to offer."
^If they do decide to go that route, it won't be in the immediate future.
My take is that eventually , the ride side will be closed down, land sold, and they will just run the new waterpark only with possibly moving some flat rides over to that side.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
For the record, Superman...err Steel Venom was down for the latter part of Geauga Lake's 2006 season. Locals had told me that it had a catastrophic meltdown last season. The problem was so bad that it would cost the park way too much money for the park to spend on fixing it (and considering how much money some parts on Intamin impulses cost, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case). Hence, the ride is being removed from the park.
Whether it will return, perhaps at another park, ...time will tell.
Well, it's a chance to use the open space for a new attraction that fits Cedar Fair's goals for the future of the park! And it's sad to see Steel Venum go, but Wicked Twister is a half hour away. Now as for X-Flight, that's something unique to the area so I don't like that idea too much. But what can you do.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter

Yeah, Steel Venom has had a lot of problems for a good number of years..

If they get that one, hopefully they'll work out all the problems.

Someone over on Coasterbuzz said that a Cedar Fair Rep confirmed at Eastcoaster that SV would not operate during 2007 and will be relocated to an unamed Cedar Fair park in 2008.
So if that's true, that really sucks for Geauga Lake.
