Let's try this again...
What do you do to keep the "need for speed" part of your personality satisfied in the off-season?
Here are a few things that you might find interesting/want to try if you're looking for something to try in the winter months...
http://www.msports.org/luge.htm <---luge in Muskegon, MI? Yep, if you're brave enough, you can try out luging. It's not too far away - it's in the same city that houses Michigan Adventure. I've never tried it, but it looks crazy. Have any of you tried it? If so, how was it?
http://www.tobogganrun.com/ <---This is quite fun! It's not super super thrilling, but it's pretty fun..especially if you can get 4 people to go all together on one toboggan as you go fastest that way. Check out the POV video on their website. I highly recommend it IF you're in the area (It's in Pokagon State park in NE Indiana). It's not worth it though to make a VERY LONG (4 hour or so) drive to check it. The neat thing is is that it runs even when it's not very cool, say the 50's, as the track is refridgerated.
Snow Tubing - does anyone know of anywhere in the Chicagoland/NW Indiana/SW MI areas that offer snow tubing? I've never tried it, but would really like to. The nearest places I've found that offer it area either at the IL/Iowa border, far north into MI, and far north into WI. Does anyone know of anywhere else closer that offers it? (most likely a ski resort).
So, there are a few things that you can try to have fun outdoors in the offseason. What else would you suggest?
