SFMW V2 is getting a new color scheme

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby SFGAmfreak4life on January 4th, 2007, 3:31 pm
http://www.xtremecoastin.com/ has more photos of the new paint job. The track is being painted bright red and the supports are maroon. I think it looks pretty cool so far but I hope our V2 keeps its colors.

Add that to the list of rides getting repainted this offseason. Mr. Freeze at SFOT is the other.

Whoever Six Flags hired to repaint their rides sucks because that paint scheme looks terrible too.

well, the painting company only puts the paint on the rides, SF decides the colors.

And I personally think Red on Purple is Fugly

Completely ignore my other post.

The blue stuck out more than the maroon, therefore I thought it was blue.

Ew.

With Mr. Freeze changing colors, it gets confusing.

With a name like Vertical Velocity, you can color it anyway you want.

Doesn't look as bad as I imagined. It looks a little weird, but kinda interesting color scheme at the same time.

That ride is hardly vertical. Maybe they'll change it to Horizontal Velocity....

No, that is the front spike. Which was lowered/angled since it was over their 150 ft. height limit. The back spike which was the 180ish was shortened to 150 but is still vertical.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

I'd rather have the red/ugly scheme than 3 yellow coasters next to each other.

^Totally agree. We need more variety in our coaster colors in that area.

this my seem like a stupid and obvious question but is there a reason why their V2 goes kinda flat at the twist tower?

oh ok, then if there is a height limit, how high is ours, or is our height limit different?

V2 at SFGAm is 185ft. Gurnee has a height limit of no taller than Sky Trek Tower. Anything over 125ft needs village of Gurnee approval.

The V2 out at SFMW was also 185ft until it was discovered by Valencia that the coaster was taller then the 150ft limit the park can build a ride. They were forced to modify it and bring it to 150ft.
