Director_Guy's Christmas Special

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Director_Guy on December 29th, 2006, 5:27 am
After the hour long L Train ride
Image
getting searched at the airport
Image
and the same boring view for four hours straight
Image
I arrived in California
Image
where James and Roxy greeted me
Image

The whole week was a lot of eating Carl's Jr.
Image
playing with big palm tree leaves
Image
eating In-N-Out Burger
Image
and playing some Guitar Hero II
Image
we figured it was time to hit up a theme park.

Image
Disneyland here we come!
Image
Mom says "It's EXTREME

Speaking of EXTREME
Image
our first ride of the day was the EXTREME tram ride from the parking structure.

Image
Yes, Christmas day. It was damn crouded.

We were trying to be smart, so the first thing we did was go get our fast passes for Space Mountain.
Image
Why?
Image
Didn't I mention it was freakin' crouded?!

We hadn't eaten, so we figured it be a good time to get some grub.
Image
There was a severe chair shortage there.
Image
We really had to work fast to grab some chairs before others took them.
Image
Image
Image

The dish was delish....that is until James stole some of my bacon...
Image
Grrrrr.....

Okay, stomachs full...let's get out into the park
Image
Image

First ride of the day?
Image
The Haunted Mansion Holiday.
Image
Image
This is my favorite ride ever and it's just as awesome with the holiday layover.
Image
Awesome enough to make James scurred.

Image
Don't mind if I do!

Image
Bumm bummmm buhhhh
Image
"No, really! We ARE allowed to run it! I swear! Go check for yourself!"
Image
Tee hee! It's sessual!
Image
The Thunder Train of Death!
Image
Wheeee!

Image
That's alot of butts.
Image
I tried to do some amazing voodoo dance to make these crazy smokers stop smoking for the day, but it just made them want to go to the "petting zoo".
Image
"Big Thunda Ranch, bizznitches!"

Poor Maggie the Cow...
Image
I'd be mad, too, if I were wearing that hat.
Image
.......exciting.....

Image

Image
I'd like to say that we rode The Matterhorn, but by the time we got around to it, it had closed for the night.
Image
But it still looks pretty.

Our flash passes...er.... fast passes were up, so it was time to ride Space Mountain.
Image
Image
Image
"We're in SPAAAACCCEEE"
Image
I love the "new" ride
Image
especially these airgates....I'M GEEKING OUT!
Image

Image
Still looks pretty.

Image
Havin' fun under the small castle.

I've come to the conclusion that the reason Walt Disney World's stuff is bigger is because they know they have to compensate for a smaller.....you know what....

Image
"They call me thumper"

While getting our fastpasses for Indy, we saw Jungle cruise only had a ten minute wait
Image
Image
"Sir, please get your smelly ass off of the trash receptacle."
Image
"Blah blah blah blah corny joke blah blah"
Image
The back side of water! It's EXTREME!

Since the smokers wanted another smoke break, I decided to check out the Disney Gallery. They had some cool stuff there like props from the Pirates movie. And this cool model of The Haunted Mansion:
Image
and this cool view of New Orleans Square:
Image

Again, because of the crouds, we took advantage of the awesome that is Single Rider Line at Splash Mountain.
Image
Image
Image
James and I got very wet
Image
but Roxy doesn't get wet...water gets her instead.

The Psychodelic Pooh Ride had it's own "Do your own landscaping" attraction.
Image

Man, whoever said Disneyland couldn't be as beautiful as Walt Disney World just didn't know where to look.
Image
Image
we got some eats down by the Rivers of America
Image
Oh Em Gee! My straw turns colors!
Image
"What the hell? Carrots?!"

To get away from the insane crouds, we went over to play on Tom Sawyer Island
Image
Image

And they had, yet another, smoke break.
Image

Image
"We go' get cancer!"

What's really funny about that picture is this guy...
Image

Image
Damn, James is always stealin' my food when I'm not lookin'
Image
and....drinking my....maranara sauce?

Image

Image
Ohhh yeah! We haven't done the new Pirates yet! 20 minutes? Sure!
Image
Ye be seekin' adventure with salty ol' pirates, eh?
Image
Roxy wants Jack's.......belt....
Image
Sit closer together, and mark well me words....dead men tell no tales...
Image
Braawwwck! Walk the plank!

As we, literally, ran to Toontown and dodging the mobs of people along the way,
Image
We stopped to see the golden spike.

None of us had never been on Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin, so we did just that
Image
Image
Image
Ha! Amusing.
Image
Monkey: "What's the password?!"
Me: "Walt sent me"
Image
Ptschh, James is a peeping Tom.
Image
While in the line, James fell into some "dip". Heh, I always knew he was a toon.
Image
All in all, pretty fun ride. I especially like the part where it looks like you're falling through Toontown.

Image
Guess she's got a thing for rabbits.

Time for a new credit!
Image
Image
This is what we call the Kiddie Coaster Dance
Image
Whoo! Yeah! Number 70, right here!

The inside of Mickey's house look like a mental hospital room with padded walls
Image
Image

While waiting for our Fastpass time to come, we went into Innoventions.

There, James and Roxy played some free DDR
Image
Image
and some crazy ACEr called me from Walt Disney World. He kept going on and on about how much cooler Disneyland is than Disneyworld. I totally agreed, but he just kept going on and on. I'm like dude! Calm down! I agree! And it's just a theme park, shooza!
Oh, yeah, and they had this funky roller coaster game
Image
but it was pretty lame.

We shuffled through the crouds to get back over to Adventure land.
Image
All of these people are waiting for the fireworks show.

While we were waiting, I totally scored some extra fastpasses from some people with a wheelchair (cause they didn't need them).
Image

James played with the pole and scared some people behind us
Image
Image
Image
Mo? Who's Mo?
Image
Image
Uh oh, Roxy's driving....

Indy was awesome. We got to ride it about three times, but each time went through the same door. No matter, I love that ride. Much better than Dinosaur.

For our final ride, we went to Tom Morrow Land and went on Buzz's Ride Thing.
Image
Image
Image

One last EXTREME group photo
Image
and we headed out through the crouds
Image

Goodnight, Mr. Disney.
Image

This Disneyland trip was an excellent way to end 2006. The entire year was awesome with trips to Cedar Point, Walt Disney World, and beyond. Hopefully next season will come very soon and give us all more opportunities to create new EXTREME memories.

Until next season.
Image

P.S.

My holiday "gift" to you all is this pretty cool pictures I took (I think at least) in full quality so they can be used as a desktop, throw pillow, whathaveyou.

Nice TR.

And with the Indy door, it is always the center door only the lighting etc. changes in the next room to determine which one of the 3 rooms you are in.

I'm pretty sure the doors change, even though it's the same room. I remember going through the other doors on several occasions. Regardless, each time we had the same chamber.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

looks like you had fun.

The DDR they were playing was DDR Disney mix for the PS1, not the actual arcade game if you were wondering...

also Guitar hero 2 is not original either (sorry), Guitar Freaks was (this game is ONLY in Japan, but some machines can be found in the U.S.).

man, i need a vacation....

I just got back from the happiest place on earth (WDW) much better than DL. However, those going within the next week, expect huge crowds, Soarin' at one point had a 240 minute wait and Test Track at 200 and Mission Space was at 180. MK reached capacity every day we were there, they started denying public entrance, only Disney hotel guests were allowed in. This happened at all 4 parks at some point of the day. It isnt going to get any emptier, only just as crowded for New Year's. I did ride almost every ride at least 3 times, within waiting no more than 40 minutes for anything except Soarin' the first time for 75 minutes.

BTW, they did pre-screenings to Monster's Inc. Laughing Floor on Dec. 26th and I was asked to see it, but I said no cause I wanted to ride some rides since the park was emptier than usual.

Disneyland is the happiest place on earth. Always has been.

Sad to say, I like MK's castle better. But the park doesn't even compare.

Universal was packed all week toooo, granted I stayed onsite so I had the Expresspass on every ride, but when the express pass line is over 40 minutes you know the park is packed.

Oh, and last year I went on buzz in WDW and we stopped for about five minutes in the middle of the ride, but we could keep shooting. I found a target far away and kept hitting it for buttloads of points and I ended up with over 800,000 at the end. I'd like to see anyone beat that.

And my MIB high score for the week was 347,000 points.
Top 5 wood-5-Goliath 4-Ravine Flyer II 3-Phoenix 2-Voyage 1-El Toro
Top 5 Steel- 5-Velocicoaster 4- Maverick 3- Fury 325 2-Steel Vengeance 1-X2
Coaster Count: 444
