Earlier this year I rode T2 at SFKK and after having my head bashed all over the place I can say it was probably the worst ride i've been on. Are all the SLCs like this or is it just T2?
Serial Thriller: Astroworld
T2: Kentucky Kingdom
ThunderHawk: Geuaga Lake
And I personally liked T2 (I definately know im in the minority in that one) But, anyway the only other one that definately didnt do the jackhammering action that I rode was Thunderhawk.
SFAW's SLC, was terrible even worse then T2 in my opinion.
When Holliwood Nights was going on this year, we stopped at SFKK on our way to Holiday World, and a few of us actually got to talk to the GM of SFKK, and one of the Questions was "Why T2 was the way it was." The GM basically said it was because of the age of the ride, which i believe was installed in 1995 and was at the time the Prototype, so maybe that has something to do with it.
Jon, just a little side note, in your trip report to SFKK, you had mentioned that SF forgot to finish painting T2. T2 was actually supposed to be rethemed as a Batman The Ride some years ago but SF obviously didnt retheme it.
If i remember correctly the originally colors for T2 where Red and Yellow.
Thunderhawk at GL (sucked)
Kong at SFMW (decent)
Great Nor'easter at Morey's Piers (awesome), it was intertwined with a water slide
Serial Thriller at Elitch Gardens (pretty good)
Serial Thriller at Astroworld (sucked suckedy sucked) I can't believe they let Excalibur go for this..no wonder they didn't make it.
Well, I've ridden 15 of them, Traumatizer at Southport Pleasureland despite it's name was very smooth, on par with some B&M's, most are in the middle/average for the Genre, and the worst were ElCondor, the worlds first SLC at what is formerly Six Flags Holland, T2 (though it has it's days, some days it runs quite well and other days it's outright violent and it happens to be SLC #2) and Noreaster at Moreys Piers was awful. And honorable mention goes to Vampire at what is formerly Six Flags Belgium, it was not unusually rough in any way really exept the OTSR's seemed as if they hadnt been cleaned/sanitized since the day the coaster was installed and the ear pads on the SLC had their protective coating beaten off so it was raw foam that would absorb anything that touches it, they smelled like a mixture of Vomit, BO, and cheese that has sat out in the sun, also they were wet and slimy (it was a hot day), it was the grossest thing I have ever seen, smelled and unfortunately though the action of the ride, touched.
I've been told that SLC's run different every day depending on the maintenance done in the morning, occasionally they adjust the wheels as the polyurathane wears down to tighten it up some, it's usually done once a week or so, though it's supposed to be done daily, if you happen to ride it the day it's done it can be incredibly smooth, but if you catch it after a few days it can be really bad.

Serial Thriller: Astroworld T2: Kentucky Kingdom ThunderHawk: Geuaga Lake

According to a brochure i have for Kentucky Kingdom in it's pre Six Flags days, T2 was entirely red...I can't really see much of the supports, but the track and rails are definitely all red.
Going on about the topic though, I have yet to ride one, but i know thrillnetwork made a nice shirt about them...
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
That is not what you said when you got off. Someone is a hypocrit. If you follow the evolution of the Six Flags Company T2 was around before Premier Parks purchased the Six Flags chain. Kentucky Kingdom was one of the Premier Parks that was Six Flagsatized. Now the original Six Flags branded parks did not have SLC's prior to the Premier Parks gang taking over. Damn Premier Parks, Six Flags was once a quality company.
As a side note, I am suprised no one mentioned this. T2 stands for Terror to the second power.
I'm trying to think, but I dont believe any of the original Time Warner Six Flags Parks got an SLC with the exeption of Astroworld. All the rest of the parks with SLC's were never part of the Six Flags family til the former management bought out six flags and started their crusade to cheapen the brand.

Yes that is what I said when I got off of it, you may be mistaking for Ally's response or you have such a biased view point and everything you hear changes to what you want to hear.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.
I have been on:
T2
Thunderhawk (GL)
Mind Eraser (SFNE)
Out of the 3, only T2 stood out as a minority. It was much rougher than the other two. One reason could be that its the prototype version as mentioned above.
But they arent that bad, worst ride ever? cmon. Apparently you havent been on Villain.

AH, Villain. It hurts just thinking about it. When I rode it in 2004 it wasn't bad, it was rough but it wasn't as bad as it was in 06. Damn... that's all I can say. The rehab or retracking or whatever they did on the ride seemed to make it so much worse.
Ohh, hah, same with Raging Wolf Bobs I bet? I never heard about them not doing it.
Back on topic, I personally find SLC's to be fun. I have yet to experience a real rough one though. Every time I'd ride one, even after the first time, I'd be afraid that it's going to be really bad, but in the end all is good and no headaches.

Hem biased? Let's play the act of Danny. I know more about how a rollercoaster functions. Im an engineering student at Northwestern. Okay, what you haven't learned from No Limits and Rollercoaster Tycoon, and Bradly Papas. Tell me what a photo eye is and what its function is? How about a prox switch, limit switch, or contact eyes? Can you explain the difference between Booster tirees and feed wheels.
Let's see, I have taken electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and fluid mechanics, that is more than you will ever take. I know how they functions and are properly built. You know how to operate rides, but you'd fail horribly in making a real coaster cause you wont know how to properly complete the specifics in making them without a massive collapse of the ride.

Raging Wolf Bobs was retracted.
And little feuds on a message board are pathetic. Just go meet him outside a bar instead
