Woke up in my car bright and early and headed into the rest stop to use the bathroom and wash up some, and I go to clean my glasses and of course they break on the 3'rd day of a 18 day trip, anyways I finish up in there and head towards Frezieit-Land Gieselwind which is about 10 miles away and at that exit I fill up with gas, get some tape for my glasses (which actually held one arm on for the rest of the trip), and I stopped at McDonalds for breakfast where I notice they really dont have any breakfast sandwiches outside of some gross looking croisant sandwich, so I get the Big Bacon & Eggs which seemed to be popular and was decent.
After that I head to the park which is right on the highway and easy to find where I'm way early, so I wait about an hour before they open the gate finally they open at 9:30 I pay my €19 or so and head on in where there was a rather large model train display along with lots of animal exhibits and random fiberglass dinosaurs. However I'm not at the park to take in the fiberglass scenery so I head towards the rides off to my left where I pass their new ride, T-Rex Tower a Huss Shot N Drop of which I'd ridden one before and it's absolutely dreadful, worst tower of any sort anywhere, and even worse this one is closed so I head on and find a closed boomerang and another bunch of closed rides, no one ever told me the rides open an hour after the park does.
Anyways I wander around and take pics of closed and/or testing rides and finally rides start to open so I head back to T-Rex tower and ride it 3 times in a row, it was awful overly powerful shot up the tower, lame councing and then a "freefall" matched and sometimes exceeded by a common elevator, but it's a ride and I paid to get into the park, might as well make the most of it, from there I passed the still testing boomerang to ride Drehgondelbahn, a Zierer Spinning coaster, basically a kiddie ride with cars that could spin and sometimes did, was fun I guess and from there it was onto the now open Boomerang which was very Boomerang-ish and it was running the newer style Vekoma Train as it's a newer boomerang.
After that I started riding random flat rides include a Huss Ranger, Enterprise, Condor, Breakdance and other common stuff and then the reason I was at that park in the middle of nowhere, Top Of The World, the worlds tallest portable observation tower standing at 340 feet, it stopped traveling in the 90's and has been set up at 2-3 parks since then and I caught up with it here, and it was pretty neat, seeing a tower taller than Sky Trak with no foundation just sitting on 4 massive legs/feet, and it was quite rough going up and tower the tower, but the view was great and it was actually pretty nice inside the cabin for what it was.
After that I wandered though their zoo area and around to the opposite side of the park where I ride the last credit I needed being a standard Zierer Ladybug coaster called Marienkäferbahn, which is German for Lady Bug Coaster (imagine that), anyways it had some neat themeing with old VW beetles under the ride painted up like ladybugs, and it turns out this was my 500'th coaster.
After that I rode their Mack Powered Coaster which like the rest of them ends up being fun, also went and rerode some flats and the boomerang til I got bored I looked at my watch and it was not yet noon and it was getting crowded being a saturday, I decided I rode €19 worth of rides at least going by a carnival equivlent standard and I decided to make one more round of the park to make sure I wasnt missing anything, then I checked out that train display at the front of the park and deemed it spectacular, and I bought a magnet and left.
Drive to my next hotel in Kassel was an average drive, was like a 4-5 hour drive I believe all highway, pretty straightforward, found the exit for my hotel easily enough and the hotel was right at the end of the exit ramp (Ausfahrt), checked in and it was my first ETAP hotel of the trip, which is owned by Accor hotels (Motel 6, Red Roof) and while a pretty small and really basic room, it was very cheap and fit the need (and had a bunk bed), flipped on the TV tracked down CNN and watched that for about 5 hours before finally going to sleep.
Next: Day 4, 3 countries Fort Fun and Kirmes in Veghel, NL
