Whats going on with Schwarzkopf?

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby SFGAmfreak4life on July 23rd, 2003, 12:32 pm
I know tha since Anton Schwarzkopf died in 2001 that his sont ook over the company and is refurbishing some of the rides. Will his son start making coasters of his own? I hope so becuase I want to see some more new Schwarzkopf rides in the near future.

Yeah, that would be sort of fun to see maybe a few new rides from them. I'm into variety, so it would be nice to see something different.

The only thing I know is his son bought back Tidal Wave from PGA, and for a short time it ended up in SFMW's parking lot, along side Zonga, but disappeared shortly after it arrived. Also, if you didn't know, Gerstlauer consits mostly of old Schwarzkopf employees. G'sengte Sau is probably the most Scwarzkopf-ish coaster they've built to date. Besides the trains and mouse portion of the ride, it greatly resembles and of the speed racers he had built.[/url]

I like Schwarzkopf coasters and really wish there were some newer ones on the market. It seems like it's just an Intamin - B&M market anymore. Wouldn't it be nice to see something new?!

I agree... I'm also really interested in seeing what S&S/Arrow can put together. Stan Checketts just has such an insane mind, I have a feeling we'll be seeing some really cool stuff from them.

Ya i definatly agree, this is just what i said when i found out that S&S bought Arrow. Arrow was a fun and crazy company, but their coasters were getting rough so i think we will see more crazy things but smoother and i think they will make a coaster that is like the old arrow shuttle launchers but faster and with a compressed air power launch.I cant wait to see what vekoma and Kumba k coasters have to offer too. I think vekoma will stop makeing SLC soon which is good and start makeing new better coasters that are smoother, iam hoping for a hyper from vekoma!

I have only been on 2 of his rides. Scorpion and Whizzer. Both fun, but nothing compared to the new rides. Unless they are anywhere as good as the new coasters(TTD, SUF to name a couple) they shouldnt comeback.
Eh, what's up?

tacoking. You have no clue. Absolutely no clue as to what Schwarzkopf has dished out during his existence in the coaster world.Whizzer and Scorpion are kiddie rides compared to what he has dished out. Some of his creations would probably make you cry like a baby and go running home to mommy.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Ya but the coasters I have been on they are Schwarkzkoph, are no good. I havent been on a shuttle coaster, but that is really the only coasters of his i havent been on, so i have to agree, unless they can compare to the smoothness and thrill factor of todays rides, they arent going to do much.

What's with all the negativity tacoking? You can't just judge them by one ride or even two rides. You should think before you type.

Ok, obvioulsy none of you understand what I type. How can I judge his other rides if I havent been on them? Oh thats right, I cant. I know none of his rides compare to TTD or X. I can only judge the ones I have been on, and they for the most part suck.

Yes, you are such an intelligent person it is ok for you to contradict yourself. Is that right? It must be.You have no idea if none of his rides compare to X or TTD. As you said, we can't judge all of them because we havn't been on all of them. Neither have you, so you can't say none of them compare. And anyways, even if you were on all of them, you still can't compare them. It's apples and oranges. It's like comparing a suspended coaster to a woodie.

And why cant you compare a suspended to a woodie? Last time I checked there both coasters. Since when cant you compare coasters to other coasters?

Of course you could compare a suspended to a woodie, but it wouldn't really make for a good comparison because a suspended is a completely different ride. Same thing with comparing Schwarzkopf rides with X or TTD.

You can't compare a woodie to a suspedded. Suspended coasters tend to have loops and all the other good stuff. Woodies have hills and turns, but only one has a loop.
