6 Flags Buying Problem?

I think it's wierd that Six Flags keeps buying 10 million dollar coasters when their 2 billion in debt. What is the deal with them buying and buying? I'm not saying quit buying rides, but just lay off the coasters for a little bit. I just want to know what other peoples opinions are on this subject.

It takes many years to design and develop a new coaster. The ones that were built this year and possible for the next year or two were being designed before Shapiro took over. After a certain time period, Six Flags is committed to purchasing the new coaster that has been designed.

You can expect Six Flags not to invest in large coaster for many years. Maybe just some smaller family coasters.

i've heard at sfgam we're not getting a new coaster till 2008...and personally, i don't think we need one either...

I say to not get anymore Kingda Ka's or Top Thrill Dragsters. However, I still think the $13 million, and even $15 million roller coasters are worth it. Great America isn't a great park because it has one roller coaster, and 20 flat rides. They come for all 12 of them, not just one. Also, include our flats, and now our water park.

Roller coasters get people in the park along with other rides. Usually, the bigger and better the ride, the more people it will attract. I agree with this philosophy for the bigger parks, but I can't for the parks that doesn't have the greatest stuff like Kentucky Kingdom. That park shouldn't have a stand up.

They are quite rough for some people. I like that one, but I don't think it should. T2 is another rough ride. People always seem iffy about mice, and you only need one woodie for a park that small. Greezed Lightning didn't get the attendance at SFOG, and I doubt it would get it at Kentucky Kingdom as many of people have said. Why should I go back there? They need some B&M's besides Chang, of couse. A flyer, and an inverted coaster by B&M would boost that park a lot.

I would say to send Chang to a bigger park mostly because it's rough. How about Chang for Riddler's, and move Riddler to some smaller park like Fiesta Texas. Of course, that would be a lot of work, and money.

The point is that I still think that the smaller parks should get the bigger rides (more money because they have less to choose from), and the bigger parks should get some of the smaller rides because they are more rides to choose from.

Of course, you might say that the park doesn't make enough money. If they had the bigger, and better rides, they would make more money. Duh!

i say we should get at least one more big coaster, raise prices on season passes and some other stuff, idc, just get us one more big coaster, because little kids arent the only ones in a family, and the park gets old after a while

^Maybe to you, but not to somebody who only goes once a year. I know that some of my friends who once a year with me are always excited about Raging Bull everytime.

I agree season passes should be more expensive, but I am pretty sure that they will be increasing in price after Fright Fest is over and again after Christmas.

Well Regular prices for Season Passes will be $99.99 just like last year. The Season Passes prices are going to be inline with last year prices. The idea is to get Families of 4 or more to be able to afford them, which are the people they are trying to attract.

What about admission prices, and has the parking price been raised? Someone didn't know if they were going to charge for the waterpark next year. They said the season pass lets you get in both, but they didn't know if they would charge for it.

I think they should sell a kiddie season passes, of course adult season passes. If there is a difference between the gate price between adults, and kids, there should be one for the season pass.

Some people hate him just becuase of Six Flags drasticaly cutting back on big expensive coasters, and aiming more towards families
