CNN is reporting at this hour that a small aircraft has crashed into a 50 story high-rise in New York City.
Meanwhile, NORAD has dispatched fighter planes above major U.S. Cities. The White House is currently monitoring the situation but Terrorism is not so far the cause of this incident.

Doesnt look like too much damage was done for a small plane. Homeland security says its a "Terrible accident."

^ There were only 2 people on the plane when it hit. The plane was probably a Cessna 172, thats the most common small aircraft.

It was a Cirrus SR20. The two people who died were Lidle and his flight instructor.

Guess your right, just assumed it was a 172 because most beginning pilots spend HOURS and HOURS in these things. May the two victims rest in peace.

I don't think this was a terrorist attack but the coincidence is kind of weird.
It's been 5 years since 9/11. So a month after the anniversary, a plane crashes into a New York building on 10/11/06. Also, a celebraty (sp?) was on board and, unfortunatly, killed.
Kind of coincidental but I only figured this out because I did an artical summary on it for Global Issues.

Who is Lidle?
From being one of the class geeks in 8th grade to one of the most noticable ones in High School. Thats what you call "Steppin Yo Game Up!"
