The roach eating has begun.

Despite the whackjobs known as PETA protesting and a couple other SF parks backing out of it, SFGAm has started the roach eating today.
Quite a crowd surrounded the stage as brave men and even some women chowed down on the 3 inch hissing bugs. The time that I watched it, everyone was able to consume the whole roach without puking. Just like Fearfactor, they had to open their mouths to the host and stick the tongue out.

Each contestant after consuming was given a bottle of water and a Flashpass.

They even had two EMT's on hand with a wheelchair just incase.

Who here would eat one of these things?? If it was a 1 bite deal I would go for it, but since its not I think I would rather wait! They are giving out bottles of water?? They would have to give me a few captain and cokes to chase it

They're not given Flashpasses, they're given passes that allow them to go through the exit instead of the FP intergration point.

Do they get just one Flash Pass or does their entire group get one?

Once again, they are not given flashpasses.

Each member of their group gets the 4 exit passes, very similar to the inconvenience passes you get if you're stuck on a ride for x amount of time.

I saw this Satuday and I almost puked. It was sick. The people who did it got the passes as well a a t-shirt. They were huge.

I actually was cheering them on and laughing.

If you get grossed out by watching someone chew on something that for the most part you can't even see, then you have a weak stomach or are having visions of the roach.

I see nothing wrong with this contest.

They have a huge balloon with a cockroach on it so that should tell you that it's taking place there.

Move along if you don't want to watch and let others enjoy the show.

In comparsion it makes Papa Johns pizza edible.

I watched people eat them today, a few women too. It was awesome. I was SO tempted to go up there and eat one, but I don't think I could actually go through with it. I'd end up puking most likely.

you can only do it during the specified times, there's a big sign in the front telling you when it can be done....yes you just get a t-shirt, and it seemed like four exit passes, since i saw people going right up to the exits.

I wouldn't do it. If i did i know i would get sick not right after i ate it, but like an hour later. I'd rather wait in lines than getting sick from a cockroach on a roller coaster.

i'd do it just for the fact that i'll probably never get another chance to do it and i wanna see how many people freak out if i wear a shirt that says "i ate a cockroach". But yeah, definitely not backin out...it's just a bug.

Here are my terms for downing one of those things:
1. I want the passes. No ifs, ands, or buts.

2. I want the T-Shirt in my size. I'd just love to go to school and say that I did that.

I think I would actually go through with it. I think I'd just stick my tounge out and just go for it. I mean, they don't say how fast you have to chew right? Just make sure you know its dead and your done right?

Now, I know this is easier said then done but if I get the chance to go to FF this year, I hope I can talk myself in to doing it. Plus, when do you get the chance to ever do this in your lifetime? I don't think I'd go for the record though. That just seems like, too much cockroaches in one sitting for me.

Edit: God....everytime I look at that picture SUF0 posted, I just don't know how I can talk myself in to doing it. I don't know how I can see myself eating one of those cockroaches. Just makes me shiver for some reason. I'm not afraid of bugs(well except bees) but the thought of eating somthing like that is just cringeing.
