No Re-entry policy during Fright Fest

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

^Hasn't that been the case all this year. We lost enough people because of high prices. Why continue this? Many Fright Fest people are night people because they want to be scared out of there wits. It's a simple as that.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"

I don't see this being affective for crowd control. People who consider leaving after the cutoff just wont leave and suffer. This brings us to the point that you just have people who are mad and cold/hungry and a park just as crowded.

I agree! I e-mailed Guest Relations as well. This is ridiculous! Most people will leave and never come back next year.

I can just see the guest relation line so long they will have to build a permant queue house for it

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

I received an email back from Six Flags and they state they are doing this for safety reasons. They also said that if you need to leave the park to go to your vehicle to drop off or pick up something that they will let you, by issuing you a special pass.

Well of course they're going to say its for safety reasons, they're not going to tell you the real reason they're doing it. Which, I believe, is to force people to eat their crappy food, and perhaps buy a SF jacket or sweatshirt, hence the later time, of course it gets colder at night than in the daytime. I fail to see how this affects the guest's safety.

Sounds like it makes it more unsafe for the guests. Artery clogging food. Hypothermia. Yup, sounds unsafe to me!

I would like them to explain how safety is affected by this new policy change/
If this does make us "supposedly" safer then hasnt the company been derelict in there duties by not implementing this change sooner??
If this makes us safer wouldnt every other park do the same as safety is a major issue at every park, be it from rides operating properly to keeping rogue guests under control.

What I dont understand is how you all are complaining about this? Seriously, they had this idea in effect for Fright Fest almost 2 months now and you start complaining now? If it is going to bother you soooo much, than just dont go to SFGAm. Anyways, you shouldn't even care, you should be in the park before those times anyways, and if you aren't in the park, you dont deserve to be allowed to re-enter.

^ Why don't I deserve to re-enter if I'm cold and need a jacket?

You can still go to your Vehicle you just can't leave the parking lot. So if you are cold you can go to your car and get your jacket.

From what I heard from other sources, many parks across the country have such a policy in effect for the Halloween themed events. The reason behind this is so that it is safer for Guest in the park and also safer for guest when it comes closing time and there is a mass exit out of the park.

UPDATE:

I went to SFGAM Saturday Oct 7th. They do not give you a permit to go to your car can come back unless you complain to the person by the exit gate. YOu have to pratically beg to be allowed re-entry. Then they send you to someone who writes re-entry slips (it has a barcode on the back). They then wirte you the slip and keep asking you if its ok if you go by yourself unless you insist that the other person or people in your group tag along.
The Guest Relations line outside was long there were about 20 people waiting and complaining. Everyone getting back into the park had a either a re-entry pass from the man inside the parkor a comp ticket from guest relations. The guest relation line inside was also long but not as long as the line outside.
I hope they take away the re-entry policy by next week.

People are complaining now, because it affects them now and it didnt affect them 2 monthsz ago because it wasnt in place then.
What other parks have a no re-entry period???

Another great idea to make more money...

Ah well. Maybe with all the complaints they're getting, they'll nix it for next year.
