Every year, i'm always invited to my friend's dad's company's buyout so this years was yesterday night from 5pm-11pm! Normally, i go crazy and ride as many rides as I can, but last night was freezing cold and rainy, so i didn't go as crazy.
Since i don't wanna bored anyone with too much reading, i'll just skip straight to the totals:
Whizzer: 1 -- towards the back with a one train wait
Viper: 1 -- in front row with a 5 train wait
Raging Bull: 3 -- Two of them in last row without having to get off and the other in second to last row with a 5 minute wait
Ricochet: 1 -- walk-on
Demon: 1 -- one train wait
Iron Wolf: 1 -- walk-on back row
Batman: 1 -- 5 minute wait for front row
V2: 3 -- Close to the back without getting off AT ALL and it was a walk-on
Ragin' Cajun -- 5 minute wait
Superman -- 10 minute wait..and i got stuck at the end for 10 minutes Rue Le Morgue -- 1 cycle wait
A couple comments:
Well, all of the coasters seemed to be running great. Every ride I went on seemed to be my favorite rides on them...I even enjoyed Demon which isn't normal for me. And Iron Wolf back row seemed as smooth (or as slightly rough) as front row...so that's good as well. I also found out yesterday that if you are 200 lbs and you ride Ragin Cajun alone, the vehicle spins a lot! Deja Vu was the only coaster down and surprisingly most of the flats were working. Raging Bull was trimmed so hard that it seemed to be barely clearing the hills and Giant Drop had some type of scaffolding box like the window cleaners use on high rises above the vehicle that was half way up. Other than that, typical Great America.
Fright Fest:
Well, a lot of the decorations were up. The seven sins cemetary and Area 51 were nearly complete in theming. Eagle had the spiders on the helix, Necropolis, Superstition, and all of the shows were signed and looked ready to go! Rue Le Morgue, Terror Twister, Iron Werewolf, and Snakes on a Train were all runnin in their fright fest forms (loudness and all)! Remember to check out the big snake above Viper's don't stand up sign in the station. The giant King Kong wasn't up yet, Blood River was empty, and the reflecting pond was still clear...any other questions, just ask.
Well, that's it folks..until next time...when i eat a cockroach!
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
Trailblazer Tony, can you explain what they did differently on Snakes on Planes, and does Iron Werewolf just have the wolf, and that's it like from previous years?? Are the talking skeletons up yet (like around Demon, and Whirligig)? Is the talking head in Rue Le Morgue (Bumper Cars) line?
Yeah, Superstition is going to be back. Thanks in advance!

Snakes on a Plane is basically just them adding rubber snakes all over the station, with one really big one above that "Don't stand Up" sign in the station before the vehicle leaves. Other than that, there were just wooden crates lining the queue line and that's about it. I hope they add more, but i doubt it. Iron Wolf was just the wolf again and none of the talking skeletons were up. However, Area 51 and Seven Sins Cemetary were almost completed...lookin good as always!

Yes, there is gonna be blood river this year, but for now the water was all drained out of it.
There wasn't a Snakes on a Train Sign and i'm not quite sure how they'd pull that off considering Viper's sign is pretty 3D and my guesses are they probably won't keep the theme next year. Therefore, i'm assuming there won't be one.
Also, as for the Sky Whirl cages, i didn't notice them...where were they last year?

Its awesome to see Terror Twister running again, gotta love it (though the soundtrack loop is the same as last years). Snakes on a train is kinda lame but whatever (the lights in the station are green though ). Everything else looked like it was up (signs, etc) and the same as last year. DejaVu was having issues near the end of the night, but at least it was open. And considering its FF the park was very well staffed and all the rides were up that could be.
