I got to the park around 1pm (after a huge delay with the Toll Plaza construction) and saw the parking lot was pretty packed (compared to last week) but still got a good spot in Lot 25. I was afraid it was gonna be really hot out but luckily there was a nice cool breeze. I got to the front gate to check in and started the day.
I was about to go on the Hometown Fun Machine but the line looked like it would be about 3 ride cycles so I decided to just skip it. I also noticed that Tripple Play was still closed, the sign was down and the ride was in pieces (did this thing ever run after it was re-painted?).
I went on the Orbit first which I absolutely love! I always make sure to ride this. I borded with the rest of the line right away and had a fun ride. The landing is a little rough but not too bad considering how old this ride is.
Next I went on the Demon. No line and I was really surprised considering how busy the park seemed to be. I rode in the back seat of the black train and I think the waterfall before the corkscrew was turned back on which was really cool. The "scraping" sound is back on the part of the track right after the lighted tunnel. It was gone after they repainted it but I guess it returned now. I still think this is the neatest looking coaster in the park.
I noticed that Deja Vu's line didn't seem really long considering its normal wait time so I went on that next. I wasn't sure how long the wait was since I was on my phone the whole time but I got to ride in the back row. This was so much fun. I really don't like going backwards through the batwing but I love how smooth and fast the loop is in both directions! What frustrates me is how many people have a problem with the "buckle your orange seatbelts ONLY and leave the green harness up". They only repeat this 50 times before you board but so many people still can't comprehend that once they board.
I went to SW Territory next and saw that Giant Drop was still closed. I really miss this one and hope it opens for Fright Fest as "Hellevator". It's so cool when it's themed for that.
So I went on Raging Bull instead and the line wasn't bad at all. It was up to the end of the last set of switchbacks and only a 15 min wait. They were running all 3 trains which was so awesome because it's amazing how much quicker the line goes when they're all running. I got the back row on the teal train. I got stuck on the outside of our row which I didn't like because for some reason it's too "open" for me and just seems scary with only the one restraint (yeah, I know that's supposed to be what makes it thrilling).
I went on Viper next and sat somewhere in the middle. It was around a 10 minute wait and I was so glad they were limiting the amount of people going into the station at a time since it's normally so chaotic in the station when it's full. I'm glad the on-ride camera was off since I always forget about it and have some dumb expression on my face. I like the front or back seats better on this one because of the "air" you hit on the ends as opposed to the middle seats.
Then I went on the American Eagle and whoa the line was long (I was wondering where all the crowds were). They were running only the Red side and they have the area between the two stations "blacked out" possibly for Fright Fest theming. I hope they do something really cool with that. I got the backseat and put my lapbar down WAY too far which made the ride really painful. About halfway through the ride, this downpour came out of nowhere and we all got really soaked. It totally took us all by surprise. However it stopped a couple minutes later. I didn't mind getting soaked since it was really getting hot in the park before that.
Next, I headed to the Iron Wolf and just as we were about to get into the station another huge downpour started and they made us get out of the line (except for those already in the station). I was glad because now the wetness was getting obnoxious.
I went into the train station thing (along with a million other people) until the rain calmed down a bit and went shopping but didn't buy anything. I think they shut down most of the coasters for awhile because I didn't hear or see any of them running.
Eventually I went on King Chaos. This is such an awesome ride and I always have a blast on it. It was back to flipping 5 times in a row at the beginning like it should be.

It looked like the coasters were running again so I went on Batman next. The line was up to the sewer tunnel thing but went really quick. As always, I waited for the front row. This became sort of frustrating because those that were riding in groups of 4 were freaking out over one of the seats being closed in the front row on one of the trains. So there was so much reshuffling and panicking (some people were acting like they were gonna die if they had to be split up). Eventually I found 2 other people to ride with and we rode in the one with the "busted" seat and went in front of 2 groups of 4. Riding in the front row on this is so amazing that it's completely a different ride. There are so many points where it seems like your feet are gonna slam into trees or the ride supports and that's so insane in a good way.
Next I went on V2 since it was right next to Batman. While we were waiting in line the train got stuck right at the end. It took awhile and what sucked was that there were so many bees out for some reason. There was also a poor squirrel that got into the switchback part of the line queue and was so scarred and confused that it was running around all over the place. Poor thing, I felt so bad but it eventually got out unharmed. It re-opened and since so many people left the line (and the station) I got on pretty quickly. The ride-ops were so amazing on this one and extremely friendly. I've been to so may other parks where SOME of the employees catch "attitude" in situations like this (probably from everyone asking them "what's wrong with the ride...when is it gonna open..blah blah blah). I sat in row 2 and it was a great ride. I am also amazed at how smooth the brakes are on this one at the end.
I decided to go on Iron Wolf next and it was only about a 5 min wait. I got in the back row and it started raining again and we were stuck for awhile on the final brake run. We came back into the station completely soaked and they shut the ride down right after that (not sure for how long though but they were running empty trains after ours).
There was still a couple of hours before the park closed and I thought I'd just hit the Eagle and Demon and then call it a night. I made it on the Eagle(even though there was loud thunder) and almost wiped out on the exit a couple of times since it was so slippery! I didn't make it on the Demon since it was closed/broken down by the time I got there (a ton of people were exiting through the entrance). I "thought" about possibly hitting the Condor or Superman before I left but as soon as I heard that STUPID song "Pump up the Volume" (which I extremely hate as much as that Venga Boys one they looped in the park a couple of years ago) playing in a game booth, I decided I had it and wanted to go home. Glad I did because as soon as I got to my car another rain storm hit and I drove through pretty bad thunderstorms the entire way home.
If you made it through this long, boring, pictureless post, you rock!
