Vergerio also questioned the practice of staging live bug-eating in front of children, writing that "Six Flags is meant to be a safe place for family fun, not a place to teach children insensitivity to animals of that 'might makes right.'"
I've got a great idea, and it might just be silly enough to work. Since most of the people have seen this on the news, or read about it in the paper that Six Flags is going to do is......WALK AROUND IT. Don't even take your kids near it!!!.
Its not surprising that PETA was flooded with e-mails, and calls about this. More people wanting groups to help them teach their kids between right, and wrong, instead of doing it themselves.
If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.
Well, we all new this was going to happen sooner or later. For starters, if parents are afraid that their kids will be sad from seeing an animal getting eaten, then they can choice not to watch. It's only one hour or their day in one part of the park, it's not that big of an issue. Personally, i think it would be harder to watch the freakshow than a bug eating contest. Second of all, Universal Studios has been doing this multiple times daily in their Fear Factor Live show, so why the sudden issue? I think PETA needs to find a better use of their time than singling out a fun event and turning it into a controversy. I'm sorry, but if people don't like something, don't participate, but for God sake, don't ruin it for the rest of us!!
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
Lets see how they like them running around there house. Oh but if they found one in there house they wouldn't dare pick up that phone and call an exterminater. That's just barbaric.
Its a great promo for ff but with peta ruining it SF will likely cancel the idea and cancel the whole thing that sux. If they do maybe they should switch it to real food maybe eat a whole pumkin pie or caramel apple in a minute. Still very good PR for GA maybe that will boosts attendance for the park.
This is the dumbest thing Ive heard in a while. I never knew that peta was sympathetic towards bugs until now. Why doesnt peta go to mexico and stop them from eating bugs daily? So many more bugs are eaten there in one day then there will be during fright fest.
There are a bunch of small animals that die while crops are being harvested but you dont hear from peta. Plants are living things but why is it okay for them to eat plants. I say we go after peta for slaughtering all those defenseless plants. Man those people are losers.

I don't think SFI gives two craps about what PETA wants. I'm taaking a shot in the dark here but I think that most middle class American families could give a crap about what PETA thinks anyways. This is great publicity.

For those who don't know how PETA operates, consult your nearest South Park PETA episode. I was in PETA, (don't laugh) and it's accurate (except the beastophelia).
But who cares..I kill about 10 ants a day and God only knows how many I step on without knowing.

PETA has protested at the Iowa State Fair for as long as I can remember and people just laugh at them.
